Harlow is a former Mark One New Town and local government district in the west of Essex, England. Situated on the border with Hertfordshire, it occupies a large area of land on the south bank of the upper Stort Valley, which has been made navigable through other towns and features a canal section near its watermill. Old Harlow is a village-size suburb founded by the early medieval age and most of its high street buildings are early Victorian and residential, mostly protected by one of the Conservation Areas in the district. In Old Harlow is a field named Harlowbury, a de-settled monastic area which has the remains of a chapel, a scheduled ancient monument.

The Echo sculpture can be seen as you travel along Southern Way. It is on a small hill. You can park up at Staple Tye shopping centre if you want to get a little closer. I would recommend downloading the Sculpture map from Harlow Borough Council to get accurate directions for finding the many sculptures in the town.

This is one of a number of statues situated in the Water Gardens in Harlow town centre. Set in a pleasant landscaped area (ignore the car park next door) adjacent to the civic centre (town hall) which also contains an art gallery. Get a map of all the public sculpture (there is LOADS) around the town from the gallery and make a day of it.

Who'd have thought you can go to a small town in Harlow to see an amazing sculpture by Auguste Rodin but you can! Situated in the Water Gardens it's very close to Next and Asda. It's certainly worth checking out if you are in the area.

Just around the corner from the Water Gardens the Philosopher's statue is located. Not sure if it is just me but he is looking away from the town centre. Is he looking out towards the neighbourhoods of the area or offended by the layout of the town? What do you think?

Situated at the end of the Boardwalk the Meat Porters statue is on the edge of the market place. It is quite a bold statue of two men carrying an ox carcass. Certainly worth checking out if you enjoy art and are in the area.
