Located on top of the Cerro El Panecillo, this imposing sculpture can be seen from any location in downtown Quito.
The Statue can be seen all over the City, it reminded me of Christ The Redeemer in Brazil.. You can go inside the Statue it only costs $1 and walk all the way up to the top on each floor there’s a Gallery that tells the story of the Monument with the beautiful stain glass windows. The Statue stands over 3,000 meters above sea level once you get to the top you can walk around the outside and see a full 360c panoramic view of Quito it looks over City & Old Town and is very visible.. tip take a camera the views are incredible.

Last Friday I visited Monument to the Sacred Heart of Jesus with my boyfriend and 2 other friends, we arrived at 3am, after the friends party, this place is amazing, with a beautiful view, it is located on the Ascending street to El Carmen Hill, next to the Julian Coronel and Loja Streets. This place has as a complement to the monument to the Sacred Heart of Jesus (symbol of the city), 166 stairs were built to access Christ statue. The bas-reliefs of the fourteen stations of de Via Crucis (The Way of the Cross) can be appreciated in the stairways. The security was excellent, the guards were very attentive. The bad point was the street, because it didn’t have a good signage, and didn’t have good lighting. We took many great photos. I have visited the monument 3 times and all the times I have felt peace and love being there.

This is one of two sculptures we saw by the same artist. Amazing work. Hard to get to because of its position in the middle of traffic.

Ibarra San Miguel Arcángel viewpoint IMBABURA-IBARRA From the San Miguel Arcangel viewpoint you can admire the entire city of Ibarra with its direct view of Cerro Imbabura, Guayabillas Protective Forest, seen from the left towards the Yahuarcocha lagoon. At the top of the viewpoint stands the monument of San Miguel Arcangel, patron and protector of the city. The image of the Archangel Saint Michael is 13 meters and its base is 9 meters. There are handicraft shops whose services are organized to be provided with a site to prevent the safety of visitors. 2 km away is the hill of Yuracrucito used for paragliding. The climate is moderate allowing it to be enjoyed throughout the year, with an average temperature of 17º C. Its location is adjacent to the south-east of the city of Ibarra. This site is a natural viewpoint from where you have an excellent view of the city of Ibarra and its surroundings such as San Antonio de Ibarra, La Esperanza, lomas de Azaya, Loma de Guayabillas, Yuracruz and elevations such as Imbabura, Cubilche, Cunrro, Cotacachi , among other. Handicraft and food stores have been located, whose owners are organized in the Alto de Reyes Merchants Association, who have planned a site to prevent the safety of visitors. By private vehicle on via Yurachucito, on Loma Alto de Reyes in the Priorato neighborhood, 15 minutes from the center of the city of Ibarra The highlights of Mirador Arcángel San Miguel Lagoon • Yahuarcocha Lagoon: This lagoon is surrounded by hills and natural viewpoints that are suspended towards the south-west side, mostly eroded. It presents an environment of crops, farms and indigenous lands framed by the Angochagua mountain range. • Tolas del Tablon: Las Tolas are located to the east of Laguna de Yahuarcocha on a high promontory (about 200 meters above the lake) in the only esplanade of the Cordillera de Angochagua, which apparently was created. According to the samples collected and analyzed from the site using the carbon 14 method, they date from 1470 AD. C. and the construction of these Tolas oscillates between the years 700-1525. • Autodromo Internacional de Yahuarcocha: This autodrome has been used for national and international automobile competitions and temporary practices since 1970. It is modern in style and has two motorways with a total area of 192,000 m2, the first of which has 150 000 m2 and the second has 42,000 m2. • Tolas de Socapamba: It is a mound site located 4 km from the Yahuarcocha Lagoon, at the foot of the Cordillera de Angochagua on one side of the Panamericana Norte, between the hot climate of the Chota Valley and the humid-dry mesothermic of La Hoya Internacional in an arid place. I love this place. I recommend that you visit one of the main activities that can be done is photography but the most important thing is to spend time that allows you to relax having a spectacular view.
