It makes you realise when you come to a small place and see a memorial to the fallen men and women of both world wars. Regrettably too many people don’t realise that if it hadn’t been for these people life would be very different now! Beautiful and peaceful setting .

The Inverurie War Memorial is sited in the middle of the town in the Town Square. The base of the statue lists all those who fell in the First and Second Wars The impressive statue is that of a kilted Gordon Highlander.

Gosh who knew there were pyramids in Scotland - great walk and scenery on way to see these pyramids - the main one a memorial to Prince Albert - stunning.

The statue of William Wallace has him in the battle garb of his era - chainmail armor, tunic, 2-handed claighmor sword. Almost all of the movie Braveheart is factually wrong, this statue helps correct that - kilts were introduced some 2 centuries after Wallace died, and face paint had gone out at least a half millennium earlier. The nice thing is you can swing by the statue and in 5 or 10 minutes be on your way to your next stop.
