During our stay in Montreal near Old Montreal, we saw many attractions nearby by walking around. We also criss crossed the infamous Underground City to visit many attractions. But to visit the attractions beyond walking distance, we decided to use Montreal Metro. From the ticket vending machine inside “Place-D’-Armes” station, we bought 1-day tickets. Then, we started our planned metro trips in the following sequence: (I) Visit “Cathedral of Marie-Reine-du-Monde”: We boarded an Orange Line metro train (to “Cote Vertu” direction) at “Place-D’-Armes” station, and got off at Bonaventure Station (2nd stop). (II) Visit “Saint Joseph's Oratory of Mount Royal”: After visiting Cathedral of Marie-Reine-du-Monde, we returned to Bonaventure metro station to board an Orange Line metro train (“Cote Vertu” direction) to “Snowdon” station, where we transferred to a Blue Line metro train (“St. Michel” direction) to “Cote-des-Neiges” station (1st stop). (III) We returned to “Place-D’-Armes” station. Montreal Metro trains and stations were clean, safe, and efficient. The signs were well placed and clear. The metro stations with signs in French reminded us of Paris metro stations: For example, Sortie (Exit), Correspondance (Connection/Transfer). Many escalators in the metro stations made the metro travel quite easy for everyone.
