Yes, It's a bit pricey. $30 per person for 1 round trip. But you get your own gondola for the ten minute ride and on a clear day the view is pretty sweet. I know the giant hogweed is a dangerous plant, but it sure makes a nice wildflower meadow for photos. The gondola takes you to the Peak Lodge which is by far the best top of the mountain place to eat or drink that we've ever seen, and we've seen a bunch. Lovely views and easy hiking trails. Take the ride!

A rock cliff that is popular with climbers.
After viewing the ledge from Echo lake we took the short drive up to the ledge. It was a beautiful clear day - views were beautiful, mountains in the distance, Echo lake from the top, rock climbers making their way up.

Monument to a key battle of the American Revolution. The monument stands over 300 feet tall.
Loved this stop! If you go up the elevator you get a view of Vermont, New York, and Massachusetts (they have them labeled which I appreciated). The monuments placed around the grassy area were surprisingly interesting too, and continued in a little museum on the ground floor by the elevator. The gift shop was a perfect souvenir treasure trove. Oh, and nice bathrooms are right next to the gift shop too, which is a definite plus mid road trip.

This lovely park was part of a self-guided walking tour of College Hill I attempted that I found and I highly recommend it! Prospect Terrace is a peaceful, green haven with panoramic hilltop views of all of Providence! It was fantastic! There’s tons of benches, a lovely memorial statue to the founder of Providence and some informative plaques scattered around the grounds. One of the plaques even points out what buildings you’ll see in the skyline! And you get a magnificent view of the capital building! It’s in a residential area near Brown University which is lovely in and of itself. Highly recommend!

It's called "the jetty" by townies. It's long (over a mile), can be hazardous in spots, can be underwater in two spots - but hey, if 80 year-old grandmothers can do this, so can you. The view is spectacular. Unless it's real hot, the constant wind can chill you out. You can swim off the rocks, depending on the tides which can approach a 13-foot swing. On the other side, the Long Point area of Cape Cod (and the geographical terminus of our sandy peninsular), you can bring beach stuff and food and spend the day having a beach almost all to yourselves. Oh, yeah, best of all, it's free. Just be mindful of the tides because you can get trapped. Don't worry, you can always walk the beach back. I live here and never fail to "do the jetty" with my company.
