Welcome to La Lombarde in the south of the Luberon. This estate has been held in the same family for three hundred years. The Luberon has been home to many notable French literary figures. It was called the "blue whale" by Jean Giono because of its scenic rolling hills and remarkable luminosity; it was written of with fondness by Henri Bosco; and it was often visited by Albert Camus. While a guest at La Lomarde, you can immerse yourself in local culture and history; attend an outdoor concert on the terraces of the nearby castle of Lourmarin (birthplace of composer Franz List); discover the markets of Provence in the heart of its ancient villages; or simply linger over a chilled glass of rosé wine in the shade of a local café. Situated at the southern edge of the Luberon, La Lombarde, a Provençal farm from the 17th century, now classified as a national historic landmark property, is a private oasis of a dozen hectares, of which the vegetation is essentially composed of oaks, vine cypress, wheat and scrubland. A park like surrounding of 10,000 square meters welcomes you into the shade of its truffle trees. You will find a pétanque court where you can play boules, a French version of bocce ball. As one of the original Provencal gîtes (a French rural property similar to a bed and breakfast/ small inn but no exact translation exists). our guests have showed their approval with their fidelity, attachment and satisfaction for the last twenty-three years.
We stayed here only for one night, wishing we could stay longer. The hotel is small in a quiet location, so you have your privacy and can relax. The building and outbuildings have a real character. Room and bathroom very nicely decorated, clean and made you feel very cosy. We used the pool, so refreshing on a hot day. Breakfast was excellent. We went to town for dinner, that was another nice surprise as we didn't know the area and is worth exploring. We highly recommend this hotel.

Used this hotel for a stopover whilst cycling up Mount Ventoux . The Sault route up to Ventoux starts directly in front of the hotel arch and down the hill. Rooms are clean and tidy . Parking available in the courtyard at the front of the hotel . The breakfast is good and plentiful and the associated restaurant of the hotel does some quality food .

Hidden away in the heart of Provence, La Verrière is a private estate comprised of a medieval priory dating back to the 9th century and winery surrounded by its own working organic vineyard and lush private woodlands in a UNESCO biosphere reserve. Lovingly restored to the highest standards and completed with state-of-the-art amenities, the villa contains five guestrooms and suites for up to 10 visitors.
La Verriere is a dreamy place. We visited at a perfect time inMid-October when the sun is slanting over the vines, the trees are turning gold, the grape harvest is coming in and the garden is still full of flowers and autumn vegetables. The fully restored ancient villa is comfortable and welcoming with beautifully decorated and luxurious rooms and suites surrounded by gardens and a stunning “infinity” pool. Our service from Gregory and Tibault was personal and friendly and they ensured every detail was perfect and our every need was met. The dining room in a great vaulted stone hall serves a sumptuous breakfast and dinner “table d’hôte” only if reserved. You really should reserve as driving around local villages at night is daunting and La Verriere provides a beautifully presented and delicious 3 course meal from local produce. The chef’s choice for us included fresh organic veggies from the garden and local meats and fish. Of course we also enjoyed the prize-winning Chene Bleu wine from their own vineyard with helpful pairing suggestions and tasting notes. We had a wonderful wine tour and tasting which is must. The vineyard is fully restored from ancient vines in a UNESCO “biosphere “ with a fully modern winery and Adrian was very knowledgeable. we had a crash course in winemaking. Otherwise what to do around LaVerriere except stroll around the gardens, visit the tiny village of Crestet, hike in the surrounding forests, and sun or swim at the pool. We didn’t want to leave. Perfect!

Lovely manager who went out of his way to welcome us. Quiet location on the outskirts of Vaison la Romaine. It took about 15 minutes to walk into the centre. Room was clean and adequate but the "hotel" more of a outdoor retreat centre than a hotel, no television and you had to make up your own beds but the peaceful location was very pleasant, with views of Mont Ventoux. Good value at 52 euros for a twin room.

Our room looked towards Villeneuve with a good view of the tower and chateau. There was a balcony with a table and chairs. The en suite had a bath/shower, handbasin, bidet and wc. Breakfast was bread, jams, butter and copious coffee. Peaceful situation with shady gardens. Very easy walking access via free ferry to the old city. Good cycling and walking on the island which is mainly very rural. We would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

We were there the second week of November; the weather was not great but still a blue sky and some sunshine. Our two boys really enjoyed the warm swimming pool with a great view on the river 'la Sorgue"; great to be able to go visit the town on foot without the need of the car. Lots of things to do and to see in the neighbourhood. Great place i can recommend.

In luberon, you find bed and breakfast "chez cécile" with all accomodations, 3 family bedroom and 2 double, and you taste your breakfast, buffet, in garden. you can rest arround the swimming-pool or walk in Mont du vaucluse, or visit "villages provençaux" like Isle sur sorgue, Fontaine de vaucluse, St Rémy de provence, Les Alpilles, Le Luberon.
We had a 4-night stay Cecile's during our recent 2-week trip to Provence and Cote'd Azure. It was by far the best of the lodgings we had during this trip. The place itself is a stone throw from the center of small village of Lagnes, on a quite road leading to L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. Being hidden from dense traffic and touristic hordes flooding Vaucluse it is at the same time ideally located for visiting gems of this area such as Gordes and Abbaye-De-Senaque, Fountane-de-Vaucluse, Lacoste, Bonnieux and Roussillon just after a short drive. We also managed to visit Avignon, Pont-du-Gar and Les Baux. Room (we stayed at at a Mont Ventoux) is actually much better than you can tell from the photos - it is very clean and is equipped with everything one may desire to feel being at home (including kitchen amenities and utensils, dishes and glasses etc. etc.) The garden is lovely, and it also gives wonderful coolness that is so desired in Provencal July heat. Our baby daughter loved strolling through it looking at hens and ducks and trying to catch funny rabbits jumping freely on the lawns. The pool and pool area are also very nice, and there is also a small portable pool available for a baby to play in. Breakfast outperforms most of ones you may usually meet in France - this is not just a plain croissant and jam, but a lot of tasty hand-made products such as pies and brownies, eggs from local hens, berries from the garden, plus cheeses and sausages. Cecile is a wonderful woman that makes you feel that you are really her guest, and she is also very helpful when it comes to solving problems (she literally saved our day by helping to solve our broken car issue). Would highly recommend the place and Cecile as a host!

We loved this B&B. Our room was larger then we expected with a sitting area, kitchenette, lots of windows and a covered patio. Everything is modern and clean. The grounds are simply stunning...I don't know how to explain the different levels of peaceful gardens, lots of places to sit and relax. And the fresh figs right off the tree! Breakfast was plentiful with lots of fresh fruit, homemade yogurt and jams, cheeses, etc...and American coffee :) The owners are friendly and helpful with dinner reservations and other suggestions. Plenty of parking on site.
