WILD WATERS LODGE is nestled in a luxuriant rainforest on it's own private island, mid-stream in the mighty Nile and is breathtakingly beautiful. The expansive, canvas walled, traditionally thatched rooms each boast private decks with elegant free-standing baths and wash basins carved from the local pink granite. Softly lit with hand-made furniture, you can relax in comfort on this island paradise listening to the thunder of the Nile rapids, and the calls of the many species of bird who call the island home.
Having been to Wildwaters on more than four occasions in the past, we were very curious and excited to see the new changes that had taken place recently. The first and most negative change was the money minded attitude towards our booking. Local rates do differ from tourist rates; however, when someone tries to charge you $30 just to reserve a specific room and refuses to accommodate any special requests (we were more than happy to pay for a massage but their limited options meant we wanted to tailor make this), then the experience is soured. The staff are amazing.. Harrington, Alice and Doreen in particular! A tip - ask for the rooms on the side of the rapids (so long as you aren't charged for the request!). Other than that, yes the changes are nice, but it has lost some of the rustic charm that made it authentic. I still rate it as one of the most beautiful places to visit though, so do go if you can!

We had such a good time, the staff were so warm, the bed and the cabin were so comfortable and the serene ambiance. The food was excellent. The animals around the lodge too were amazing to see. Room for improvement on electricity issues.

Had a really great stay here for 3 nights over NYE. The room was spacious and in a beautiful location overlooking the lake. The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and the food was excellent! It's a very peaceful place, great star show at night, and has all the amenities you'd expect for a safari lodge. It's very close to Kibale NP where we went chimp tracking, and a bit further to Semuliki, which we did a day trip to.

Absolutely amazing! We stayed four nights in one of the luxury suites (named Kashasha), and it was fantastic! The views from the lodge (and also the room) are unparalleled. The staff was extremely friendly (a special thanks to Wesley and Rosemary), and they made sure to make you feel at home and attended to all of your needs. The online pictures of the property do not do it justice. Sitting on top of the mountain overlooking the valleys, volcano peaks, and lush greenery and gardens was absolutely amazing. You can spend several days just staying onsite and enjoying the property. The food was also excellent - we never had a bad meal or went hungry. Would definitely recommend this lodge.

We spent two nights at the Ihamba in February 2022. This is a smaller, mid-range lodge located inside Queen Elizabeth. We saw Elephants and Hippopotamus from the lodge and our room. The pool was excellently maintained and inviting after long days of travel. The menu is limited but excellent and flexible to guests travel schedules. We have a return visit with the whole family planned for June 2022.

Yellow Haven's beautiful gardens are an oasis of peace and quiet surrounded by papyrus groves on the shores of Lake Victoria. The modern Dutch-style Lodge is easily accessible from Kampala - but miraculously far from the hustle and bustle of the city. The gardens and water inlets are home to a great variety of birds, frogs, and fish - and boats are available anytime, just to paddle along the lovely shoreline, to fish, or to have a picnic or barbecue on one of the nearby islands. There's also great hiking and cycling - and at day's end you can take a dip in the infinity pool, have a sauna or massage, or simply relax with one of our fresh-fruit cocktails and a snack! At the Yellow Haven, you'll reside in an ultra-modern two storey townhouse, or in one of the two lovely single storey units. The Byoona Amagara Island Retreat is a one-of-a-kind traveler's paradise located on an island peninsula at the heart of the lake. Byoona Amagara is a staff-owned, not-for-profit establishment dedicating 100% of proceeds to support education and sustainable community development at Lake Bunyonyi.

We offer budget friendly, bed & breakfast, backpacker or self-contained cottage accommodation situated in a peaceful suburb of Jinja. A delicious breakfast is included in your room price and we offer all residents free Wifi and access to the swimming pool. Our restaurant is open daily from 8am - 6pm and offers freshly made wholesome and delicious meals, with weekly Sunday Brunch specials!
Fantastic to come back to Jinja and see everything and everyone come back to life post-pandemic! I passed by Basecamp twice last week. One afternoon I dropped by for a chat and a snack: home made tortilla chips plus hummus and guacamole dips ? I stayed one night in one of the Safari tents. Each has two single beds and was warm and comfy. It's a tight squeeze! The bathroom / shower is a shared affair in the main living area. Note: some of the rooming options changed during the pandemic but it remains an extremely good value for money option for budget travelers. Thank you to the super friendly staff. Had a great welcome. I particularly appreciated being shown my tent during one of Jinja's occasional power outages. (Guests are provided with rechargeable lamps) and the compound has good security. The camp seemed to be a hive of activity. A big group of volunteers had arrived from Europe on the day I stayed. It's wonderful to be traveling again!
