It was a great experience! We decided to walk from Salento center to the Finca, it’s a nice long walk, maybe wouldn’t recommend if it’s raining. We decided to take a shorter tour and we’re guided by lovely Andres! We’ve learnt a lot of interesting facts about coffee production and tried an amazing coffee on place! :) beautiful views, great quality. I would recommend it to everyone.

It is a new hotel in a magical place where you can stay surrounded by wild and exuberant nature, only a few minutes away from Salento's main square, Colombia. With our five rooms and our completely equiped private apartment, together with accompanying spectacular views, we welcome you to our Eco Resort. Gran Azul Eco Resort has been built throughout 2016. In it Jordi and Cristina decide to reflect all of their illusions, their positivity and their creativity, but above all their passion for small details and things made with love. This is a hotel with a familiar, close and very magical atmosphere. The building process ends with the formal opening in September 2016. A dream come true. The Eco Resort is located on one hectare of land with excellent views, 40 minutes away by car from the airports of Pereira and Armenia, two major cities, which receive daily international flights. It is an ideal hotel for couples to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature, for travellers who love bird-watching, mountain-bike excursions, nature walks and hiking in the Andes. But we also welcome families with children seeking a different experience surrounded by this breathtaking environment. We have special facilities and areas where the kids can play undisturbed, while the adults enjoy the green areas, a pleasant conversation around our living room fireplace, a full and rich breakfast or a delicious supper in our spacious and comfortable dining area, a visit to our organic garden, or a walk along our Eco-Trail which runs throughout the property.
This place is an absolute gem: you are five minutes by car form the colonial gem city of Salento, and yet in the middle of the national park Cocora with splendid views. Accomodation is excellent, ceiling extremely high, breakfast excellent and the owner Cristina faithful to the best German traditions is super efficient and most helpful with advises what to visit and where to dine. Most highly recommended

Our Lodge is an eco-friendly accommodation located within Kasaguadua Natural Reserve. It is accessible by walking 20 minutes from our gate, located 2.6km away from Salento, close to most coffee farms. For staying here you need to make sure you are not taking antibiotics or anti malaria treatment in order not to affect our bacteria based water treatment plant. You need to book at least 2 days in advance and await from our email with arrival instructions and rules.
I stayed at Kasaguada with my boyfriend, a day after we took the cloud forest tour with Carlos and we got fascinated with the stories and the biology of this ecosystem - and of course with the lodge Carlos and his helpers built in the heart of the cloud forest. This lodge is a magic place and though it seems to be far from everything, it got everything you need and tons of lovely details. The bed was super comfy and it has a fully equiped kitchen and a cozy common area with books, games and a TV, even a maloka that works as a little buddhist temple and which we were allowed to use for morning meditation. I recommend taking the tour beforehand to know more about the forest, but it is also a wonderful experience without. We stayed with Willi and he was an amazing host, sharing a lot of stories and cooking us an amazing vegetarian breakfast. If you are in Salento and want to really know more about the nature here - you can't pass this experience. I highly recommend to spend some time in Kasaguada!

On our arrival time ( almost mid-night) owner itself welcomed us with a cup of coffee and tea. We spent one full week in this hotel and it left us with the best feelings we could had. Hotel is brand new renovated keeping history of it: great colors, luxury furniture, very clean rooms and whole area of hotel. Owner is super friendly, personnel is also super friendly and polite. Staff makes luscious breakfast. On top of that Hotel de mirador boquie gives you breath-taking panoramic view of the mountains. It definitely bought our hearts and we reccomend it without a doubt!

We stayed in the Guesthouse for 2 nights and the Glamping Tent for 1 night. Both stays were great! The facilities were well-kept and clean, the staff were amazing! We didn't speak any Spanish but the staff still went above and beyond to make sure all our needs were met. Guesthouse had access to a giant hammock, jacuzzi and good WiFi. The view of the surrounding Andes was unforgettable. They also have 2 horses and several dogs on the property. It's about a 15-20 min walk to town or a short Willy ride for about 3000 COP pp per way. Only issue we had was the insects and mosquitoes, but that's to be expected when you're high up in the mountains. Bring some Off! Glamping Tent exceeded my expectations. The bed was so comfy! The shower facilities were shared but clean. Good water pressure and the water was hot! I loved the breakfast area. No WiFi if you're staying in the tents but that's the whole point of camping, isn't it? My only regret was not staying an extra night.

Summary: The room is a superior value. Views of the city are stunning from this location. Maria and Antonio were very helpful to us during our stay. There is also a very friendly and very big cat prowling around. And have a cup of coffee too!! After I booked my Medellin trip, I saw a YouTube video that featured Salento, Cocora Valley, and this gem of a find. It was the beauty of the area and this hotel's vibe that ultimately sold the idea of a full day trip to Salento with airfare. To waste no time, I went to the trees prior to checking in. As you walk from the main plaza, you spot the location to the left of the stairs that ascend toward the mirador. Near the bottom of the steps, you will see a small sign pointing you down a dark uphill path. Lucky for my travel partner and I, we were greeted by the "meows" of the cute chunky cat that guided us towards the kitchen. The views overlooking Salento and the cat kept my buddy occupied. I went up and down the second floor stairs looking for the reception. Eventually, Maria found us and offered a free cup of coffee as she took our passports away for the usual procedure. Each room seemed to be locked with a simple padlock. She handed us the key before tending to another couple who just arrived. The room is minimal and rustic in feeling. An extra blanket and a flower-folded towel were placed over each bed. The TV was broken but I didn't come here to watch TV. And my Spanish is passable for Colombia travel. The usual desk and cabinet to finish off this part of the room. In other websites, I saw reviews mentioning a lack of toiletries (soap,...) and notifying Maria/Antonio about hot water. With some fiddling, my shower had hot water. And there were toiletries. Fair warning: Ice cold water given the mountainous high altitude. After settling in, I relaxed on a hammock until Maria was finished dealing with the couple. She was helpful in reccomending restaurants (ie. Andrea) and where to play Tejo (ie. Los Amigos). But she didn't know how to arrange an early morning (6:00 AM) return trip to the airport at first. After a wonderful meal and a boozy round of playing Tejo (Although similar, this is easily better than playing cornhole in the USA because of all the EXPLOSIVE GUNPOWDER), I was stressed figuring out how to get to the airport. And to my surprise, Maria and Antonio were there to the rescue. She and Antonio went above and beyond the call of duty for us. With Google translate, the driver quoted a price that exceeded my expectations. Knowing what other places charge via booking sites, I was a happy man with that price and service. I thanked them both for being so helpful. And I hugged Maria before she left for home. Next morning, we woke early and sipped some beers in the patio. The views of Salento are stunning. The driver, Antonio, and the cat came looking for us. We paid for the room and said our goodbyes (even to the cat). And we left for Pereira. Looking back, it's their helpfulness that drove me to write this review. It's the overall experience that taught me three things: 1.) You will never experience the beauty of Salento in one jam-packed weekday. 2.) Know your transport options like overnight buses from major cities. 3.) I must return to Atardecer De Salento for all future Salento WEEKEND trips. And God knows there will be more.

Selva Verde is a peaceful and beautiful bed and breakfast. There are 7 cabanas in a lovely verdant garden. The property is only a few blocks away from the town centre but is therefore quieter. The breakfast was the best I had in Colombia, as it included a very generous serving of fresh fruit! The outdoor breakfast area is a wonderful space to meet other guests and enjoy the garden. Ron and Alba speak English and Spanish respectively and they and their staff are very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend the hotel and hope to return one day!
