True place of exception in a green setting close to Paris, our Domaine du Château de La Houssoye welcomes you in an authentic, comfortable and cocooning. We offer 5 spacious rooms with a kitchen in a trendy decor, including a superb suite of 55 m2 with private terrace facing the castle. The charming cottage great comfort, located in the Master's House, has 3 large double bedrooms with flexible high quality bedding and bathrooms. The gourmet breakfast is served at the Château! You can feast with delicious pastries, breads taste of yesteryear, jams "homemade" artisanal charcuterie assortments, all accompanied by traditional tea prepared in the rules of art, coffee or fresh fruit juice. Have a good stay!
Elegant. Magnificent. Beautiful. Relaxing. Yes, it is out of the way from Paris (but so, so convenient with a stop at the Vincent Van Gogh house and grave) but entering the front gates, you are swept up in magic. Seriously! Beautiful, beautiful wide open and lush grounds surround a truly magnificent French chateau. The grounds are immaculately kept. We loved walking the palatial grounds. The guest room was simple and spacious with its own bathroom and small kitchenette. Wonderful shower. Uber clean room, crisp sheets with towels and robes provided. Emily and Rick, the hostess and host, couldn’t have been more accommodating, cheerful and helpful. Since we had to depart early to catch a flight and couldn’t have a full breakfast, she provided a wonderful continental spread in a basket the night before. My only regret is we couldn’t spend more time here. I. AM. SO. GLAD. WE. CAME. TIPS: Best accessed by car; an hour's drive from Paris; close to Beauvais airport.

Had an overnight stop at Hotel/restaurant du Canard, 7 place de la Gare 80310 Hangest-sur-Somme en-route to Paris. The building is opposite the railway station and didn't look particulary appealing. However we were shown to a large room at the rear of the hotel which was beautifully equipped and decorated. A kettle was provided which is unusual in French Hotels. The bathroom was huge with a radiator pumping out plenty of heat which was very welcome in February. There was sufficient room for a bath but only a shower cubicle was present. We had a superb meal in the restaurant that evening, it was one of the best I have had in France. It was reasonably priced and far better than many so called gastronomique menus I have experienced. The lady of the house was very pleasant and helped us translate some of the more obscure local dishes on offer. The quality of the breakfast was equally good. We would be very pleased to recommend this establishment as an ideal stopover.

We were only there for two nights visiting the Somme battlefields. Our first night there was a BBQ for all the guests. The B&B was full so we all sat at the big communal table outside as the weather was glorious. The breakfast is generous and pancakes, eggs and other requests are freshly prepared by the hosts. In good weather breakfast is also eaten outside. Our room overlooked the garden area and side annexe which is good for family groups. There is a swimming pool in the grounds which have numerous fruit trees. Secure parking through the private gates. Easy access to the main highways. Happy to recommend.

Two cottages of charm in the owner's house.Quiet village with castle in exceptional mediaeval whose history you are told by the hostess.Rolling green landscape.Memory of Joan of Arc:all for an unforgettable moment in pipardy near Paris.
We stayed overnight at this B&B just before the New Year. Montepilloy is a very quiet village, it's very peaceful (though it is a working farm I think !). The rooms are downstairs in the house, and the madame lives upstairs. Rooms are clean, well presented, nice bathrooms with lots of hot water, tea and coffee facilities, and a mini bar (but at sensible prices), comfy bed and we slept very well. There is a TV, and Wifi is available and works well (though typing the password in is difficult as its 40 characters !). Breakfast was classic French - orange juice, tea or coffee, croissants, baguettes and was excellent. There is an area downstairs with chairs and tables to sit if you want to relax. (it was a bit cold when we were there, but I'm sure it's lovely in the summer) Ideally placed for Paris, Charles DeGaulle Airport, Disneyland Paris and/or Parc Asterix, and there are quite a lot of things locally. In fact, my wife and I plan to return for a few days to explore. (The castle used in the BBC Show "Merlin" is quite nearby). Also a good stopover if you are going south because it's only 10 minutes or so from the A1 motorway. Madame Roland is very helpful and friendly. You can also pay by Paypal which is handy On the downsides .... well, that's not easy. Montepilloy doesn't have anywhere to eat or drink (I think ?) but there are places within 15 minutes driving. So if you want to go out and all have beaucoup de vin, not ideal .... and the long wifi password .... it took about 3 goes before we got it right.

We have just spent a delightful 5 days at Les Songes de l'Authie. Thank you to Daniel and his small team who made this chambre d'hote (B&B - French style) stay so special. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the inviting sight of the indoor pool (heated to a balmy 28°C), not forgetting the friendly small holding animals: donkey, goat, chickens and Mimosa the cat, among others. The backdrop of blooming hydrangeas and quirky garden furniture only added to the initial charm. Daniel ensured, from the very start and throughout our visit, that we were very well looked after indeed . Rooms are decorated in a chintzy 'shabby chic' style with lots of thoughtful details such as hairdryer, tissues/earbuds/cotton wool pads, scatter cushions, fluffy throws, as well as robes and towels to use in the pool (regularly replaced). These details not only go above and beyond the average B&B; they ensured that we wanted for nothing and were extremely comfortable. Every morning, Daniel's good-humour and expert local knowledge were accompanied by a delicious breakfast, comprising homemade jams and spreads, home-baked dainty cakes (several flavours change daily; if you're lucky, you may even catch the scent of baking in the afternoon), and even homemade yogurt and freshly-squeezed orange juice. Daniel is such an affable, attentive and entertaining host! It's clear that he enjoys welcoming guests to his beautiful home. We are very lucky to have stumbled upon this fabulous chambre d'hote.

Vincent and is family gave is a warm welcome and a delicious evening meal, accompanied by their fantastic champagne The location is stunning with their vineyard just 20m from the front door. We were lucky enough to be their at harvest time, picked grapes and saw the hands on production. The wines are the best we tried and we left with some rations, but never felt pressured to buy. Highly recommended

On our way home from Spain we ended at this surprisingly lovely location. The rooms were very clean, quiet and decorated with care. We also had dinner in the restaurant of the accomodation. The dinner was special and the restaurant has several gourmande reccommemdations but the price level is very ok. The breakfast was joined with fresh baked croissants, juice and great coffee. We were happy to close our trip in such a nice place and not a common roadway hotel. We recommend this location to everybody!
