Home to nearly nine million and powering an economy that exceeds both Hong Kong's and Thailand's, Osaka packs quite a punch. The confident, stylish city is a shopping hub, with fabulous restaurants and nightlife. It's an ideal base for exploring the Kansai region; Kyoto's World Heritage Sites, Nara's temple and Koya-san's eerie graves are within 90 minutes by train. Top city attractions include the aquarium, Osaka Castle, Universal Studios Japan and the futuristic Floating Garden Observatory.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights because of its location - it's right next to the JR Bentencho station and it took only 10 mins to go to USJ, where we joined their countdown party on the New Year's eve. The room was spacious compared to those located in the city centre (e.g. Umeda, Shinsaibashi). It was a good deal to stay in such a big room with this price. It was also clean and quiet, despite its proximity to the train station. Going to the city centre is also easy - you could take local metro to Dohton Bori in 15 mins. The train getting to the Kansai airport also stopped at Bentencho, so you don't have to worry about going to the airport neither! The price comes with breakfast, but we hadn't got a chance to try it. There was also a 7-11 next to the entrance of the hotel - very convenient. There are a number of hotels close to USJ but they are always expensive. I'd recommend this to those who are looking for something economical, while you don't have to sacrifice quality / convenience.

The hotel is at the end of the river, I give full mark for the room. It closed to the MTR station but if you drag your luggage from Namba station to the hotel, it will take 15-20 mins, the distance is far. As for breakfast, it was rare choice and not tasty. I leave early everyday so I don’t have other choices. __________________________________________________

Regarding other reviews Yes it's small get over it. It is very cosy. Very clean and close to Universal Studios. We went as a couple and did fit in everything with luggage etc. We saw the other review and yes it is small, but not unbearably so. You get what you pay for this close to USJ. It is SUPERBLY clean and I could live here much comfortably than anywhere else in Japan, Hong Kong or any other major city.

Room & bathroom is clean and comfy. not recomend for people with weight more than 60 kg or have many luggages because the room is small. Hotel near 2 train station, one is connect to Airport. Near hotel (5 minutes walk) is populer shopmarket Don Quijote, we can find anything there.

The hotel was conveniently located and the room was basic, clean. But what was intolerable was that the air con was completely not working. We came back hot and sticky from the night markets and it was giving out warm air in the 34 deg heat. We tried to contact the concierge but there was no service after 11pm. We met a family in the room one floor above us, on the same corner of the building as us, leaving the hotel at 10+ pm. They were going to look for alternative accommodation. We tried contacting the concierge the next morning and there was no one at the reception at 9am, and when we left later at about 9.30am. We left a complaint note at the reception counter. They emailed to say they would give us a refund but it's been a month and we haven't heard from them since. Just make sure the aircon works if you stay here- before there's no service at 11pm!

Overnight family trip - 3 people stayed in Log house J. Can accommodate 6 people or more. We intentionally chose this hotel to stay in the log cabin. Good points: Hop skip and jump from downtown Osaka Lovely hotel grounds/lawn Small but clean public bath with nice view! Peaceful surroundings in the resort Minimal staff contact because of Corona Virus BBQ on terrace of Log cabin Bad points: The resort is obviously quite old which is fine BUT maintenance is lacking in log cabin J. After paying 32,000Yen, one doesn't expect to have a balcony in such a terrible state. Literally falling to pieces and in addition, ply-wood covering the floor. Extremely tatty. Also, the 2nd floor bedroom floor is a disgrace. Clearly no-one is taking notice or simply ignoring the damage. Future guests be aware of cabin J. Promenade by the sea also is in tatters. Well overdue for repairs. Undecided If I would return.
