Popularly referred to as Ooty, this gem among southern hill resorts is covered in eucalyptus and pine trees and coffee and tea plantations. On a clear day, it's possible to see as far as the Mysore plateau from Dodabetta Peak, the district's most prominent viewpoint. The Stone House, a landmark 1822 bungalow, and St. Stephen's Church are remnants of the area's first British settlement. Also noteworthy: formal botanical gardens, a children's mini-garden and a contemporary art collection.

If you are a couple or family then this place is definitely not for you. We were a family and stayed there for 2 nights. You can always keep hearing what's happening in the next room, and we always had smoking smell from the next room travel to our bathrooms. Looks like the management endorses and favors a lot for bachelor clientele just for the fact that they are ready to spend an extra 1000 bucks for the campfire. The gang was drinking and making lousy and nasty comments about women and all night they were shouting and playing loud music till 11 pm. That place is the only common area where all the rooms can access. When this was complained to the manager, he had the audacity to ask us to adjust and it is normal for bachelors to behave like this and they have paid for campfire. The people who came had zero level of decency and same was with the manager. As a woman I had no level of comfort nor did I feel safe with those people talking that way. The whole place was littered with beer bottles, glasses and puked everywhere. This is least expected in a place that has above 4.0 rating and that says - ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION IS PROHIBITED IN THE PREMISES. Do not make a mistake by going there with family. If you are a gang of boys and want to party, this is the best place as the management can make all necessary arrangements and ask other guests not to interfere in your business. No complaints about the food and location. The room service staff were very considerate and helpful.

Make your vacation a truly memorable one by choosing to stay in Hotel Sri Balaji , situated in one acre property, on the national highway connecting Ooty to Coimbatore. We have been the destination for tourists in the "Queen of Hill Stations" for over a decade. We have rooms to suit all your needs.
Hotel sri balaji is a wonderful place to stay. Rooms are excellent at a cheap price which is affordable. I strongly recommend this place to stay. Staffs are very polite and humble. Keep up the good work.

The Grange. The name, which means a farmer’s bungalow, is inspired by the family’s traditional occupation – agriculture. From renovating the wooden flooring to layering the house with exceptional antiques, colourful Athangudi tiles and handcrafted stained glass from Chettinad, they have balanced the finer details of luxury with a deep sense of history.
There is no room service.Staffs are impolite. The pictures doesn't depict the actual rooms.kids age with 5 years have been charged with charges. Just Zero Service. Not at all for kids. Non Pet friendly. Absolutely Zero Spread of breakfast apart from South Indian Cuisine. We received Towel after the first day of stay. Impolite staffs and horrible experience. Pest infested rooms(Mosquitoes and house fly)

Pro's Price was matched with Agoda. Food rate and quality quantity amd taste is really awesome. Room (delux room recommend for couples) was perfect in all the aspects. Spacious, bathroom fitted with geyser , Tv , kettle and phone. Wifi also. View from any corner of the hotel is breathtaking. Sitting arrangement in front end has awesome view both during sunrise and sunset. Open terrace for walk and see the beauty of surroundings. Amazing staff and receptionist and chef himself. Owner is young dynamic and friendly (met him once during my stay) Eco friendly outside lights. Good response by staff. 4.7 ratings out of 5. Con's : Only con is approach and if you are allowed to park your vehicle at the top near lingam temple then 650 meters of uphill n downhill walk is the only concern. Rating (- 1) minus 1. Solution: allow parking near temple and housekeeping staff should take luggage from the same point. Property can be given some maintenance from longterm prospect as it is located at very strategic location and may earn good fortune for owner. (3.5) Special thanks to Tejas and Shobhna and all the staff for making our stay memorable. Surely recommend.

Location of the hotel is excellent. I drove to ooty by my own car, parking was provided but no body was available to clean the car even on payment. You have to ask the reception to clean the room otherwise they won't attend. Hotel should inform at the time of check in so that you hand over the key to hotel while leaving the room for sight seeing. Overall experience with hotel is satisfactory. Breakfast should include bakery items as well.

Consigliato

BEAUTY & BEYOND!As the sun comes up and the green comes alive under its glorious rays, the shimmering gold is a gentle reminder of the intriguing past of Devala. Once a gold mining destination, the hills of Devala hold many a secret within its pristine plantations. Amberina, a resort nestled amidst these plantations, was originally a bungalow bought from the royal family of Neelambur in 1994. Tucked away in a 99 acre plantation, surrounded by native trees, pepper, cardamom, coffee and endless tea gardens, it is an abode for those seeking a quiet and blissful getaway. It has three well appointed rooms and a cottage opening out to a lawn and a swimming pool.Falling in the Nilgiri-Wayanad district, Amberina is 72 km from Ooty and 16 km from Gudalur. It is accessible by road (through the Madumalai forests)
One of the best homestays I've ever been to. Babu the caretaker is a gem of a person and I'm speechless when it comes to the the hospitality at Amberina. Literally short of words to describe this place. One must go there to experience it.

It was a beautiful cottage amongst many on the slope of a hill overlooking the town with a quaint surrounding that filled us with a sense of peace. An undoubtedly cozy home away from home feeling for us. The warm beds with fireplaces in the rooms paired with delectable home cooked meals by Shruti and her staff was more than we imagined. Arun, our guide driving us to the most scenic vistas with his contagious smile and patient disposition was a bonus. Our three day stay was an amazing experience we want to repeat over and over again. A big heartfelt thank you to Golden Cypress and the people who made it truly a golden experience for us.

We were a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. But took the whole bungalow just for privacy reasons. It's dam big bungalow with 55 cents of land. A big car park above there s a big lawn area, backside kids play area and other activity room. The luxury lyes everywhere in the bungalow. All the furniture made of teak and rose wood. Colonial style pictures and paintings. The care taker was a ok type person. Inspite of surrounding houses and taj resort just above the bungalow., you will feel wired and haunted if you are all alone... Ha ha ha .. Enjoy..... No complimentary breakfast was provided. Simply stating covid as a reason. For each ann every meal, have to go outside for other restaurants. Else everything was great...

The Ooty White House is a bit out of the centre if you want to explore. Our taxi had some difficulty in finding it. It’s not ideal if you want to go out in the evening and wander about the town. There is no restaurant although the staff will order in food for you which they did for us. It wasn’t great ( which is not the White House fault). Breakfast was poor. No choice . We each had an omelette sandwich presented to us which if you have an allergy to eggs or are pure vegetarian is no use. That was it. No fruit, juice or toast on offer. Tea and coffee available. The rooms were OK. Clean but faded. There is WiFi which was pretty reliable. The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful.
