If you’ve never thought much about North Dakota, maybe it’s time you started. Boasting miles and miles of hiking trails, including the Lewis and Clark trail, in addition to multiple museums, golf courses, casinos and amusement parks, North Dakota is bursting with things to do. Situated smack between the Great Lakes and the Pacific Ocean, North Dakota was once called “America’s Most Affordable Vacation Site” by the American Automobile Association. Meriwether Lewis and William Clark are two of North Dakota’s most famous residents. Tracing the courses of the Missouri and Columbia and rivers, the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail stretches through 11 states. Thanks to their explorations, visitors to North Dakota with an interest in history can do some exploring of their own. Bismarck is not only the capital of the state, it’s also home to several Lewis and Clark historical sites including Fort Yates, where the pair stopped to trade with the Mandan Indians. For family fun in Bismarck, don’t miss the Dakota Zoo and Raging Rivers Waterpark. With more golf courses per capita than any other state (11 in Bismarck and Fargo alone), golf lovers are sure to find a course to their liking. Agri-tourism is also a popular activity in North Dakota, which ranks first in the production of spring wheat, durum wheat, sunflowers, barley, honey and other crops.

Great place to stay in the badlands. You can walk around and just from the lane alone you can see wildflowers, deer, and beautiful views. The hosts serve you dinner (they ask you to arrive ~6) and breakfast. If you are vegetarian or have dietary restrictions, let them know when you book and remind them again the day you arrive.

Roger is a most gracious host. We stayed in the Crossing, which is perched above a garage detached from the main house. Unit was perfectly private, had everything we needed and features beautiful sunsets right outside the bedroom window. If you are exploring Theodore Roosevelt national park, this retreat is a quick drive from the South unit of the park. Highly recommend you stay here. Makes a wonderful respite for visiting either unit at the park! Take the time to hike the ridge line from this property too. It features beautiful vistas that images cannot do justice.

Our lodge is a one-of-a-kind getaway experience. The breathtaking view from the Coteau des Prairies is second to none. You will find yourself at home at our rustic, yet refined lodge. Created and operated by a farming family. From our warm country welcome and hearty homemade meals to our outdoor expeditions and hands-on farming fun, your rural experience comes alive!
Just a bit prejudice here since I do know the owners, but Joe and Patty have done a great job here with the building and furnishings and making people home while they are here. Great location for family reunions and events like weddings and more somber occasions. The place allows you to take a load off the daily grind and look out over the valley and put things in perspective. I would highly recommend

Lakeview Lodge is a nice place for small groups of outdoor adventurers to stay. Each unit is set up like small furnished apartment. They have a cleaning room for waterfowl hunters and fisherman, which is set up very nicely. The owners are on site and very accommodating. Our group has been staying there each fall for nearly 20 years and we are not even tempted to try anywhere else. It's a little off the beaten path, but is casual, secure, and comfortable.

Our rooms offer a choice of one full or one single bed, or 2 singles (bunk beds). A good night's sleep is assured atop a pillow-top mattress. All rooms include a 32" LCD flat-screen television with cable programming (ESPN and HBO included), a microwave, mini fridge and full bathrooms.
With this town apparently still developing I notice a hand full of quick build hotels out here. this is better than any motel/hotel that I have stayed at in a while. I thought there would be a bug issue because they are fairily new but the only problem we have had is the occasional fly because it is and outside motel. Meaning the front door leads directly outside. It is a ways from the little town but all in all a great stay. I suggest getting the single room though. Having two beds in the room take up much unless you rearrange them. Very clean and relaxing though otherwise.

Our family booked about 14 of the 17 rooms for a reunion. We had a lot of trouble getting our individual reservations made, as the motel number is answered in the bar most of the day and night. The staff is foreign and although they are sweet, don't always understand or relay messages correctly. I had called and also sent an email requesting that I'd pay for my 3 childrens rooms. Upon arriving my daughter in law was charged for 4 rooms (we were staying only 2) they charged my daughter as well, otherwise wouldn't give her a key. We finally got it straightened out, but took awhile. The same staff works into the night at the grill and bar and therefore NO One is at the front desk until after 10 in the morning. This wasn't good.... it's also not posted anywhere. There isn't even a number posted at the registration window for calling anyone...They don't open the restaurant until 11, but did provide muffins and a make your own coffee pot. no cups tho. and spent 30.-40 min getting some! I finally walked to the back where the help sleeps and just kept saying " Hello?anyone here"? a sleepy girl said she'd call the manager (I tried knocking on their door too) after the motel number just gave me the fax buzz....what if there was an emergency???? not a good way to conduct business! that's a major flaw! The rooms are large and beds comfy, tho. I just don't know how they can run a motel without a consistant "Presence" and no posted info on when the desk is maned or a number to call.

Owners extremely nice, price extremely reasonable! You walk into a TV/social area with the room doors surrounding. Kitchen area has everything but a stove/oven. Grill outside. Washer/dryer was very nice to use. Free wifi. Everything was clean, newly renovated. There are 2 bathrooms (1 men, 1 women), which wasn't a problem when I was there because there were only 3 other rooms rented (9 total) Lake, bait shop, boat launch and fish cleaning area all nearby. Unfortunately, the town's only grocery store and gas station closed last month, so just come prepared for that. I had a very enjoyable stay!

The staff is very friendly and eager to make your stay comfortable. Drinks and food are available for sale in the lounge. The rooms are clean with a large comfy bed. It’s a very quiet location with privacy, each room has its own exterior entry and parking out front.

I did not go online to look at what they offered because i had business associates that stayed there. I called and talked to Pam at the front desk of the territorial inn and she gave me the owners number. Talked to her and was told everything was included except bedding and I was fine with that as long as I could cook and not have to eat out every night.first night there,no towels and I had to use a shirt to dry off with.Nothing to cook with or eat with like I was told.and after 5 days she finally brought some plates and bowls. No silverware or pots and pans. The next day the agreed to charge me for one week $350.00(stayed 6 days).and reimburse me for the rest of the month.$1150.00.She refuses to call me back after repeatedly calling and leaving messages for almost two weeks and being as polite as anyone can be.Pam at the front desk of the territorial Inn is a go between and basically told me too bad.I will tell the whole oilpatch and pipeliners up here.DO NOT STAY HERE! still have not recieved my $1150.00
