This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the former capital of Laos, and you'll see everything from golden-roofed temples to vestiges of colonial French architecture here. Buddhist monasteries abound in Luang Prabang, and early every morning, monks process through the streets collecting alms (their food for the day). If you want to watch or participate, though, ask your hotel for a brief etiquette lesson first—you have to distribute the food in a specific manner.

This is a unique spot just outside Luang Prabang. Very clean, private rooms, and eco-friendly. Lovely herbal sauna and pool, a fire to gather around at night and great food. Very happy with our relaxed stay and could return to take advantage of the many hikes available.

Stay for one night and ask to change because of noisy works around. Not their fault at all but the lodge was so nice to allow us to change, for this i am very grateful and happy to give a good note for their kindness. Will come back next time again. The location is perfect and the lodge is nice with local decoration and garden.

Positive 1.) Location, close to Night Market, Mekong River side, Post Office, located at nice, quite green alleys. 2.) Cooperative staff 3.) Daily replenish 2 water bottles 4.) Tea kettle with sugar, coffee, tea etc. 5.) Price very competitive 6.) Breakfast value for money, Fruits, Toasts, choice of eggs, Jam, coffee or Juice etc. Negatives 1.) Linen (specially bedsheets, pillow cover and duvet) doesn't feel fresh or nicely washed. 2.) Reception staff not able to help much arranging activities or providing options, may be english speaking capacity is the hurdle. 3.) Aircon started dropping water at middle of night, but not able to arrange service next day also. 4.) Look and feel inside the room not very appealing. Overall At this price, its ok

Apple Guesthouse offers quaint, personalized & friendly 06 room accommodation in the heart of this unique UNESCO heritage city, just behind the main tourist street & two doors from the mighty Mekong River & its varied restaurants for all budgets. A short walk will get you to the major attractions; temples, restaurants, tourist information, tours, & morning & night markets are just around the corner. Rooms are spotlessly maintained; many in teak, which is the traditional Lao style. All have air-cons, fan&free Wifi, LED TV with CNN, BBC&HBO. Smoking area is only allowed outside the guesthouse. A large triple room is very useful for a small family or if you are a group of 3 with a Queen & a king-single bed. The common balcony upstairs overlooks the alleyway’s activities, where you can sit and enjoy free tea, coffee, cool water & magazines. It’s a popular place for people using the free WiFi. Close to every thing such as Jama Bakery, post office, tourist information office, restaurants, n
We stayed here for 3 nights and had a pleasant stay. We had a room with two beds, so the room was more spacious compared to rooms with just one bed. The staff were friendly and even though we did need our room cleaned daily, they still gave us water and toilet paper when needed. There is no breakfast but there is a coffee/tea station upstairs. I was up there every day preparing my morning drinks. It was a nice touch. It is basically what sold me on the guesthouse while shopping online. We used the upstairs balcony every day for coffee in the morning and beers in the evening. The location was great. I would highly recommend this area. Super convenient to everything. There are multiple money exchanges, a convenience store, a few restaurants, and a few western cafes within a 0-2 minute walk. Night market is less than a 2 minute walk. Need a taxi? 10 second walk.

An unassuming bungalow of teak wood reveals a menu of more than a dozen varied traditional massage services. My Laos massage ($20 including tip) was relaxing as well as therapeutic, (with little jet lag after this hour of massage), expertly given by one of the staff. Little English is no problem--just point to what you want, then pay upon leaving. Easy.

This is a Chinese style hotel a bit out of the city center but very convenient if you plan to rent a motorbike. Rooms are spacious, with air-con and wifi. Beds are huge and hard, Chinese style. Breakfast is simple but there’s both western and asian options, fresh fruit, coffee, hot chocolate and tea. The staff are very nice, sweet and helpful.
