A dense urban stopover where Thailand and Malaysia meet, Hat Yai exudes the international energy of a border hub. Though short on sights and historic charm, its shopping centers and floating market provide anything a modern traveler could ask for.

Hubby and I stayed one night on our way to Ko Lipe. Free pick up from airport and very friendly staff making sure we had everything to make our stay great. Pool was very refreshing. Restaurant was closed for dinner and staff drove us to excellent authentic Thai restaurant, and collected us after our dinner. Breakfast was good and staff efficiently helped us with our travel arrangements. Highly recommend.

I felt like all my stress left me as soon as I checked into the hotel. The staff are friendly, I came back at 10.00pm one night and asked them if they had food, they said the kitchen was closed, but the staff was willing to open the kitchen just to cook for me, as he feared I would be hungry. Really thoughtful of them. The rooms are excellent like a resort in Bali or Phuket.

We ride up from Singapore but no worry abt parking, Our bikes are safely parked at the hotel compound. Decha, the staff there is very warm, friendly n welcoming who is very devoted to his work. Took grand deluxe room cos that can fit 5 of us. Big, nice, very clean room. the bedsheets all smells good! Our room is at the last floor, so we hv a good view of the area. The hotel area is not at the main road, so its good n quiet & cosy. Although it may not be at the main road, but we can just tell the reception to go anyway, they can help to call for tuk tuk. It cost abt 20baht/pax. No worry about halal food cos there's alot of muslims here and looking for halal food is not difficult. I manage to go to Klong Hae floating market. A good place to go for lots of halal food and shops, can go crazy there. But the place only open Fri to Sun. No breakfast provided. Basically this hotel is recommended!

Goodnight Poshtel is run by a local owner who intends to render a warm and friendly family-like hospitality for Hatyai visitors. Starting out by modernizing an old building to a trendy living comfort. The rooms are designed into 9 different themes, perfect for photographing. All units feature air conditioner and a LED TV with direct button to Netflix! Located just 1.5 km from downtown area.
A comprehensive review of my stay at Goodnight Poshtel (23 - 25 JAN) LOCATION: Just 20 mins away from the airport, this aesthetic find is convenient to get to anywhere in the city center. We took a Grab (app) car to and from the hotel cos we were lazy but you could walk the streets to explore the sights & sounds! Mad convenient SERVICE: This is going to be a long writeup! Both the owners (Ann & Chin?- i hope i got the spelling right) are AMAZINGLY TALENTED individuals!!! If you intend to put up here, get them to share with you the story behind this place! Can you believe that the two of them literally painted the place / came up with the master lighting plan / baked the cakes at the reception area / cooked us breakfast on our last day / sourced for the furniture and all the little details around the hotel!??! UNBELIEVABLE! Their service is outstanding and personable! I was looking for a masseuse on my 2nd last day & Chin went all out calling the places she knew and trusted because she was determined for me to get a massage (it didn't work out because it was New Year's day and everywhere was fully booked). On the last night, my travel companion was craving for mango sticky rice and she even volunteered to drive her out just to hunt for a good-tasting one! Apparently, it's something she practices for the guests because she just wants too! I haven't met such kindness in a long while! ROOM: I resided in the room with the King-size bed. Did you know that the design and decor of each room is different? From the colour palette, to the textures of the wall, THE COLOUR of the KETTLE in each room, THE COLOUR OF THE TISSUE BOX & also your bathroom amenities have ALL BEEN thoughtfully chosen and thought of by the owners?! MIND-BLOWN. Room is clean, wifi can be a little laggy but hey my Netflix was running pretty decent so I ain't complaining. Putting up at this accommodation was a great joy especially when this was my first trip to Hat Yai. Please don't forget to try the carrot cake at the counter / reception if you're staying here! The cream cheese is really yummy! Also, there's a little corner near the entrance that sells tote bags / t-shirts & woven bags (by an old lady) so if you're intending to spend your baht on your last day, it'll be great to purchase something to show a little support! Thank you both for hosting us! I will come back again!

I made a booking for one night well in advance via Booking.com. Close to my date I decided I wanted to book an additional night. Booking.com was not showing any availability for my extra night. On the 8 December I sent an email via Sandee Room's facebook page...no response. On 10 December I sent a message via Sandee Room's facebook page...no response. On 13 December I sent a message to Sandee Room via Booking.com...no response. On 15 December I cancelled my booking. I don't know whether this hotel is open or closed but I would advise making contact first before making any booking.

This place is new so rooms are impeccably clean, shower has enough pressure, mattress is firm & comfy. Extremely helpful staff. Good location if you need to visit Bangkok Hospital. Bare in mind that they have 6 floors & no elevator.

It is hard to describe this place - Hat Yai is dirty & noisy This place is serene & charming & quiet - despite being on a busy street The decor is sort of like Sante Fe in a rich , beautiful rainforest . The staff are great - the rooms uniquee & very comfortable. The food & service is very good Really : there is not a better place to stay in this city

Away from the bustle of daily life, the tranquility and natural beauty of Chestnut Hill Eco Resort makes us a unique destination for conferences, seminars, workshops and retreats. Our simple and clean accommodation, home grown organic food and spacious facilities are all kept at a reasonable price. Groups use our facilities to host their own programs. River dips, guided walks and traditional Thai healing treatments including massage are available as options. Individuals come to Chestnut Hill Eco Resort from all over the world to enjoy this special jewel in Hat Yai. Some come to work, others to paint or write, breaking for quiet moments, walks and swims in the rock pools. Families with children can also enjoy weekends hiking along forest trails.
This place is great to get into nature! Friendly staff, tasty food and drinks. Peaceful with incredible views and lush bush all around. A regular place I visit now. The rooms are big. Beds comfortable, Great walks to explore the stream and local medicinal water and I'd your lucky the waterfall (depends on rainfall). Meditation room, library, and the best of all only the sounds of nature to be heard!
