A great disappointment, dirty and uncared for - a very bad experience
Reviewed By Sabine KReally regretting our decision to stay at Mare e Monti as the accommodation was dirty and uncomfortable . We were shown to our room, 1 double bed and single bed cramped in the corner, the beds sheets were clean.. but that’s about it! The pink blanket on the top of the beds were filthy, the floor hadn’t been vacuumed and was full of sand, dust under and on top of small fridge and months and months of dust on the top of the wardrobe. The small deck hadn’t been cleaned either and the white plastic furniture all stained did not make it an attractive place to relax. The bathroom had been renovated some time ago but the tiles grout in the shower and around the toilet was black with mould and dirt. Also, we struggled to open and close our door as the key would not turn in the lock. One lightbulb above the bathroom sink did not work from day one, we did report it but it was never changed. We had to ask for bath towels almost everyday as the cleaner constantly forgot to leave some. And the toilet paper, one roll as the time…. Times are hard but at 1400 euros for the week, you would think you get a little more. The receptionist came to the room just after we checked in as we complained it hadn’t been cleaned. She acknowledged the state of the place and sent back the cleaner. It was a little better but still not great. On the 3rd day I spoke to the owner/manager, showed him the photos of the bathroom…. His response was unprofessional as he kept telling me that he couldn’t get staff to clean, and it had been so tough for them with the pandemic…. It has been tough for everyone, us included, and it’s just a matter of keeping the place tidy, clean and safe during a global pandemic which was completely ignored at Mare e Monti. He did offer for us to have free breakfast, but we went to local Boulanger for ours, he did not offer a reduction on the final bill. After many excuses, he finally said in would send the cleaner for 1 hour. It was cleaner but the damage had already been done. The dark on dark wood and dirty floors make the room feel smaller and dark. Impossible to set the air con temperature making too cold. We did not look forward to go back there each evening and felt tired as the we couldn’t get decent sleep all because of the poor state of the place. Managers/owners of small businesses can also grab a pair of gloves, sponge and cleaning products and lead by example. Not the case at Mare e Monti, but still happy to take our money.

A nice stay in Figari
Reviewed By Sam_7BaselThe location is very good with short access by car to many nice beaches in the South as well as to Porto Vecchio as well as to Bonifacio. The cottage is spacious and clean with a nice garden, private parkplace and just beside the pool. Camille was very nice, friendly and highly responsive by whatsapp for any requests. In the common kitchen, you have your private shelf and also inside the fridge where you can easily prepare your meals. The accomodation is within grape farms so very quiet and peaceful. It is good value of money.

Great riverside location
Reviewed By danefamilyWonderful location directly down to the river with bathing possibly both in the river and in the pool overlooking the river and the mountains. Simply but functional huts with a very nice outdoor kitchen and dining area on the veranda. Very helpful host.

Reviewed By 606pieterpA gem on walking distance (30 mins) from Bonifacio harbor. Beautiful garden with swimming pool, clean and large rooms with everything you need (also a fridge). The owner and his beautiful daughter were very friendly and helpful. I was even allowed to swim at night (recommended). There's also a large parking space if you go by car. Breakfast is also available in a relaxed setting.

Reviewed By 880cathydUn endroit fabuleux que l on ne peut que recommander , magique, un calme absolu, un appartement complet, moderne avec tout ce qu il faut . Une vue imprenable , sans vis à vis, la mer juste devant la baie vitrée , pas de route , seulement les goélands , mon seul regret… n pas l avoir connu avant et n y avoir passé qu’une nuit. Et en plus mon petit chien était le bienvenu ! Et une réception par Maria d une grande gentillesse

The Domaine offers for rent luxurious country stone villas with private infinity pool offering a magnificent view of the sea. All the villa and terrace are facing South anf the sea. You could enjoy sunbath near the pool and relax. All the villas have the air conditioning and are perfectly equipped. There are two bedrooms each with its private bathroom and wardrobe. Enjoy all your meals on the terrace in front of the Mediterranean sea. The Domaine is perfectly situated at 500 meters from restaurants, baker, little supermarket. It is at 1h00 from Ajaccio airport and harbor, 15 minutes from Propriano harbor and 1 hour from Figari airport.

Reviewed By Colin BFirst impressions were rather basic but it grew on us. It is extremely simple but there is a pleasant garden and we were offered the use of the pool. We stayed in the hotel itself but I reckon the gites would be pretty good with views over the valley. Evisa is a lovely little place and there are a few eating options, including the hotel itself, all offering local produce. This is a cash only place which is slightly annoying.

4 ravissantes chambres d'hôtes,avec une piscine juste devant,une vue imprenable sur Ajaccio. Un restaurant juste au dessus qui vous cuisine des plats familiaux. Situé juste au dessus de cauro sur la route du col St Georges. Grillade à la cheminée dans une ambiance conviviale. À très vite. Changement de direction depuis le 10 janvier 2020
Beware the xenophobic manager

I just want to share my experience properly: Location and hotel looked quite nice, however, the atmosphere was dominated by aggressive behaviour. Actually, the strategy of the management to deal with complaints turned into a misogynic and xenophobic discussion. The incident made us leave immediately.. we just felt sorry about the employees.
