A green oasis in Normandy. Le Moulin du Vey proposes cottages and rooms in the heart of Normandy. We invite you to come and enjoy the green countryside of Normandy called Suisse Normande. Take time out to relax and enjoy everything this wonderful spot has to offer from the flowing rivers to the rolling hills. Your stay at Le Moulin du Vey, a charming watermill which has been sympathetically restored : the authenticity, the hospitality, the conviviality and a complete offer of leisure and outdoor activities.
We have just spent 3 very pleasant nights in this simple, but comfortable and quiet, chambres d'hotes in the Suisse Normande. Situated in its own pretty and extensive grounds, this converted mill house is just across the river Orne from several restaurants, and places for hiring kayaks and boats. Our hosts were considerate intelligent people who made us feel very welcome.

I feel so lucky to have found Manoir des Lions and Philippe. It was my first time traveling in the French countryside alone, I had my puppy with me, and I had a lot of specific things I hoped for (including green gardens, interesting places and lots of good sleep! Plus of course a place my well behaved and hypo allergenic pup was welcome and at home) . I spent a lot of time comparing to hotels, airbandb and other spots and now wish I had that time back and had gone with my first instinct that this spot was perfect!! So here’s the key points for me (not in any particular order) 1. Philippe the host - as other reviewers have pointed out, his service is extraordinary. From my perspective and from that of my French friends who visited me here, what was really great was he struck that perfect balance of a host willing to help in any way - but not always wanting to chat with you and intruding. Plus, as my schedule changed many times and I had lots of questions, he never made me feel like a pain (but I probably was!!). 2. The rooms - so so comfortable. Cozy but still very very spacious (usually cozy means cramped !). The linens are luxurious, the windows with views of the garden at greenery and the bathroom a real treat. Lots of nice touches like top of the line teas and a small fridge you can put your own things in (like cheese you find in pont l’évêque). Small things make a difference too - like the honor bar with San Pellegrino and some snacks is not ridiculously priced . Just makes everything easier ... 3. Location - literally 10 min from Deauville (and if you are feeling energetic, there is a walking/bike path nearby directly there - it’s marked as a 6 km walk). Also less than 15 minutes to Trouville, Pont L’Eveque, Beaumont-en-Auge and many other picturesque villages of the region. 4. The grounds - love the gardens. So accessible - you feel like you are sitting in your own home . And at night I slept so peacefully here - just what I needed!

Recommend for hotel and food Amazing room overlooks Omaha beach. Restaurant serves great food overlooking beach. We had Amuse bouche salmon mousse Fois gras ravioli in white cream sauce Rumpsteak with white asparagus carrots and whipped potatoes Chicken Breast stuffed with apples with same sides. Basil ice cream on graham cracker dust and Breton butter cookie with Normandy cream mousseline topped with strawberries, apple, kiwi and raspberries embellished raspberry coulis for dressy. Each course was excellent!! Will add breakfast review tomorrow. Highly recommended.

Lovely characterful stone converted farm buildings, our room in the separate house was clean & comfy. Food & wine were great. Handy location to visit Caen, D-Day landing beaches & memorial museums plus Le Mont St Michel.

Stayed here with three colleagues, the owners were lovely the rooms good and the hotel is situated in a very tranquil location. Only disappointment is that the restaurant only offered a cafe type menu and there are not many options in the vicinity.

The hosts are very friendly and the breakfast are fantastic. We stayed there for 6 nights and the breakfast was never the same. We where there in the dry and hot summer so it was really nice that we could use the large garden.

We stayed here in the middle of August on route on the way home from the south of France. We had a terrible experience with booking.com in Limoges and had to to leave the "penthouse appartment" as it smelt of urine so was a little hesitant to say the least as this was my budget night. I shouldnt have been worried, the place is immaculate and the hosts are amazing and greet you as if you are old friends. They do not speak much English but we all muddled through with some hand gestures some broken French and some broken English. We travelled in a group of 9 and the larger family stayed in the farmhouse and we stayed in the little gypsy caravan which my kids loved. Alan showed us around the goats, livestock etc then took the children in to an outhouse to see a baby goat which he was hand rearing and some baby pigeons. I would go back again in a heartbeat their hospitality was first class.

Beautiful B&B very close to Bayeux and a short drive to the Normandy Beaches. This beautifully renovated home is well decorated and clean, and our room was lovely with an updated bathroom. The hostess, Walkyrie, was so sweet and welcoming and her English was quite good (which was a good thing for us as we speak no French except for Merci). The breakfast was amazing, fresh baked croissants, homemade jellies and jams, danish, yogurt and fresh fruit and eggs upon request. We only had one night to stay here as we were on a cruise ship with an overnight stay in Le Havre so our time was limited. If we are able to return to France again we would definitely return to this charming home. We stayed here in June 2019.

Good points: The couple who run the guesthouse were friendly and the room and communal toilet & bathroom were very clean (the shower was excellent). Overall, reasonable value for money. Bad points: I paid for a single room which had a window into the corridor only, so daylight and fresh air were minimal. Also there was continuous footsteps and banging from upstairs (probably the children of the host family) until about 9pm and it was noisy whenever someone wanted to use the communal bathroom or toilet.
