According to famed diver Jacques Cousteau, the Great Blue Hole of Belize is one of the most spectacular dive sites on earth. The crystal-clear sapphire waters are home to colorful tropical fish and several species of reef sharks – ideal for brave divers who love to get up close and personal with sea life. On dry ground, diverse rainforests, mangrove swamps, and Mayan ruins are perfect for exploration. The beaches of Belize are sunny and tranquil spots for a day of relaxation.

The resort is wonderful! The room was clean and had a great fan and AC. The resort itself was beautiful and unique. We are not birders but loved seeing the Toucan and Parrot on the property (only place in the country we saw any!). The property is stunning. Very safe place to stay. The homemade food prepared for us was delicious! Some of our favorite meals were here. The family was kind and went above and beyond to meet all of our needs including our accommodations, food, drinks, transportation, and arranging COVID tests prior to leaving. I would highly recommend staying here and I would happily come back!

Our resort is nestled in the jungle in the Cayo District, 7 miles from the bustling twin towns of Santa Elena & San Ignacio. Only 2 miles from the Western Highway on the Mountain Pine Ridge Rd . We are centrally located to many major Mayan archaeological sites and caves, and other attractions in Belize. The resort consists of well appointed accommodation, large spacious cabañas with en suite facilities and hot and cold water, comfortable relaxing areas with panoramic views over the Maya mountains. We are an eco-friendly resort, harvesting rain water & using solar power. Every effort is being made to maintain the natural environment. Fully licensed bar. Restaurant. Swimming pool. Free high-speed wireless internet.
This was exactly what we wanted for our trip to Belize! The owners made us feel so welcomed from the start to the end of our stay. We felt like they welcomed us into their family. They taught us the names of the tropical birds flying around the property, toured us through their edible plants, and gave us tips for where to go for great adventures in the surrounding areas, and then set us up with an amazing tour guide for ATM cave. The property is secluded and beautiful and private. The breakfast included fresh, tropical fruits from the local market and banana bread made on the property. We also decided to eat dinner at the property, and ate two yummy, authentic Belizean dinners complete with homemade desserts made using ingredients from the property, and the hosts were super flexible on timing and food requests. Please keep in mind: if you are looking for a hotel stay like in the US, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for an unforgettable jungle stay, come here!

The hotel is newly renovated and nicely done. I had the ocean front room with a wrap around veranda. It was a great room with two sliding doors. When closed it was very quiet. The housekeeping staff was great and so were the groundskeepers. Heidy was the gal at the front desk who picked me up at the airport and can manage to lift a 50 pound suitcase!!!! The entire hotel was beautifully maintained. Ken, the manager, was a sheer delight. The restaurant is on the fourth floor and no elevator. Being a senior partially disabled lady, he brought the dinner to me. They have a nice picnic area on the grounds. The food was great with some unusual for Belize items, like chicken parmesan and pasta alfredo. Both delicious. Ken gave me bandaides and ointment for a small injury. He offered to work out a way for some of my local friends to stay there in the future. He and his staff were always available with any help or information you needed. I go to Belize every year. This was my second time on caulker and first time at this hotel. I am older and partially disabled and I felt very safe and welcomed at La Isla. The staff was fun, helpful and hard working. Ken is one of a kind...an animated and passionate man who loves what he does and will do anythng to make your stay the best. Ken, you are adorable and I can't wait to come back next year. So thank you La Isla for a wonderful vacation!!!!!

A blend of traditional and creative ways of natural living in the tropics combined with modern conveniences welcomes guests this "Naturalist's Paradise." Round, thatched cabanas are dotted throughout this "Garden of Eden," far enough apart that there is privacy. The spacious cabanas, made of hardwood walls and traditional mayastyle-thatch, are elegantly furnished with hardwood furniture, lots of windows (complete with screens and curtains) and colorful linens.
Sun Creek Lodge provides a rustic get away in the jungles of southern Belize. Family run, the place is beautifully set. I stayed in the Parrot cabana, which was airy and nicely furnished with multiple beds, table and chairs, a fridge, and a coffee maker. Electrical outlets were limited, so a large party would need to share. Breakfast is included with the stay and was excellent. Other meals can be arranged by request. Wifi coverage in the cabana was spotty, but is good in the main lodge. Each cabana has outdoor bathrooms and showers, which are a bit different and may not appeal to some. They were more than adequate for my needs. Sun Creek is right off the Southwest Highway and easy to find with good signage. You do get highway noise until about 8:00pm. More irritating are the neighbors barking dogs and crowing roosters, but that's par for the course in Belize. There is no A/C in the lodging. The Parrot had no ceiling fan, but did have a floor fan. As I said, this is more rustic and that's the intent. The location is excellent for visiting Punta Gorda, Lubaantun, Nim Li Punit, and other local attractions. The family and staff was courteous and helpful with lots of information about local sites and activities. I had a very pleasant stay and would stay here again.

Due to our airline's change of schedule, we had to overnight near the airport instead of traveling to our destination. The thought of spending even one night in a generic motel was depressing, but a quick search turned up River Bend Resort within 5 minutes of the airport. Their responses to our questions were extremely prompt and helpful: Yes, they could pick us up and ferry us across the river even though our flight didn't arrive until 5 pm. Our driver/boatman was happy to stop at the well-stocked local grocery for us to grab some provisions before checking in. Our arrival at the location and our cabana was a very pleasant surprise: we immediately knew we were back in Belize. Our private, comfortable and quiet wooden cabana in the traditional Belizean coastal style included a large screened porch and was right on the river, amid a lovely natural setting. These aren't fancy, modern cabins – but ours was clean, the bed was comfortable, the AC worked (though we didn't use it much), and the kitchenette was a nice bonus. The boat was very nice, and the docks were safe and well-maintained. Both the personable manager and his assistant were available to address all our needs, including boating up river to pick up delicious take out dinners from a local restaurant. We couldn't have been happier to settle in and rest (after traveling since 4 am). Bird watching the next morning with coffee in hand, and then enjoying the complimentary hot breakfast, started the next day perfectly. Our driver then boated us across the river and drove us directly to our car rental agency where we began our journey, happy and refreshed. We enjoyed the setting and hospitality at River Bend so much that in the future, we'll try to stay longer and take a tour with them. Thanks again for a lovely stay! /ps/ If you don't expect mosquitoes on a river in the tropics, you're lost.

Casa del Caballo Blanco (CDCB) is a small eco-lodge on the outskirts of San Ignacio, Belize; providing guests the opportunity to experience the natural and cultural wonders of Belize.
This lodge is modestly priced with large, cool, clean rooms. The breakfast was tasty, fresh, all around excellent. The staff was incredibly pleasant and helpful. It was a wonderful place to stay for four nights.

We will definitely stay here again. The room was great. The bed was very comfortable and the we loved the rain shower. We were happy to find a small refrigerator in the room to keep our drinks and snacks cold. The staff Chefy was amazing. He picked us up at the airport and even carried our bags to our room. His attentiveness to our communications and making us feel so welcome was wonderful. The room was spotless and was cleaned daily.

Our one bedroom suite was comfortably furnished with a well-stocked kitchen and large bathroom. The only down-side was that the air conditioner is on the far wall of the living room and not big enough to cool the bedroom at the other end of the apartment. The first night it was so warm that my husband slept on the couch where it was cooler. There is a lovely screened porch, but the caretaker, "Ray" forgot to tell us that the door automatically locks behind you, so we found ourselves locked out at 6:00 am. Other than that mishap, Ray was very accommodating. Owner "Rita" was easy to contact via email and phone and was very helpful as we were planning our trip.

Max rooms is the perfect location, between the beautiful twin towns of Santa Elena and San Ignacio. Within walking distance is the scenic Hawksworth bridge over looking the Macal River. Max rooms has a VIP lounge for your relaxation called DejaVue. It includes karaoke, restaurant and a bar. Delicious authentic Belizean food is served with a friendly welcoming staff.
The hotel is situated on the main road near the village centre, which can be reached via a bridge over the river. The room is decent, spacious, with air conditioning and a fan. The bed is big and comfortable, with nice linen. There is an ironing board with an iron, a microwave and - what is important in this heat - a fridge. The bathroom is ok and the shower has warm water. Mike who manages the hotel is very very helpful, kind and caring, he is really great!
