Welcome to Buyskop Lodge, Conference and Spa! Relax, rewind and reconnect with nature at Buyskop Lodge. Imagine blazing sunsets and crackling camp fires all woven into the magical atmosphere of the Waterberg bushveld. Located only 110km from Pretoria, the holiday town of Bela-Bela (Warmbaths) is the perfect getaway destination for a quick break from the city life. We offer 16 comfortable, exclusively decorated and unique thatched roof chalets and spacious camping sites. Each two-bedroom chalet is equipped with a kitchen, lounge, patio and private braai/BBQ area. Our facilities include two swimming pools, kiddies playground, spacious grounds and a relaxing spa, Baobab Spa and Beauty. All of this and more situated in the malaria-free paradise of the Waterberg Mountains, only 4km outside Bela Bela on a private game reserve.
Upon arrival, we were welcomed by one of the ladies which was nice. The place is beautiful and the environment is peaceful. There is no noise and distractions from other visitors which we really loved. The chalets are spacious and super clean. We loved the fact that the chalets have full cutlery including enough plates and pots, and we didn't have to buy anything except food during our stay. The children loved the animals and it was so cool seeing them up close. Will definitely visit again. Thank you for hosting us!!

Phumelelo Lodge - only 1h 30min from Pretoria and 2 hours from OR Tambo International Airport. Phumelelo Lodge is situated in the "Big 5" Mabalingwe Game Reserve which is non-malria area. With us, will enjoy an authentic African experience which will keep you coming back. At Phumelelo Lodge your 2-day break will feel like a week long holiday. Please note: Our listed prices are exclusive of VAT (Sales Tax) of 14%.
The views are amazing. Rooms are spacious and kept clean, the Staff goes out of their way to make your stay worthwhile, the drinks are reasonably priced and the food is okay. Note there is a gravel road (a few kilometers) to get to the lodge, it is manageable with a small car though. Better signage is needed as it is easy to get lost and there is poor cellphone coverage in the area. The only thing we didnt enjoy was the game drive (it was done on the farm/premises and not at Mabalingwe as advertised, so there was no big 5 and it was done at midday when its extremely hot and all of the animals are under shades). Overall the stay was very good.

My wife and I and our two daughters and “future” son in law decided to celebrate New Year’s Eve at Ditholo Game Lodge. We booked a deluxe suite and a family suite which were spacious, comfortable and clean with en-suite bathrooms with showers. We made good use of the ceiling fans and air-conditioning in the rooms which were very effective. The property is extremely neat and well maintained which is further enhanced by Nyala freely roaming around. The property also has a dam situated nearby to the rooms, and we spent quite some time just relaxing by the dam observing the two resident hippos. During our stay we went on two enjoyable guided game drives and spotted zebra, wildebeest, giraffe and various antelope including certain exotic species. We also thoroughly enjoyed a few of the bush walking trials which are clearly marked. We also made good use of the swimming pool and had good fun playing table tennis, foosball and pool. The staff were friendly and efficient, and we were well cared for throughout our stay. The food was very good, particularly the traditional African Boma Dinner that we had on New Year’s Eve, and the complimentary bottle of sparkling wine that we received was greatly appreciated. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at Ditholo and definitely hope to visit again.

Disappointing - Almost nothing worked. Lights, Braai, Shower. For the price, rather go elsewhere. Staff are incompetent and rude. Asking for assistance is pointless. The F&B manager thought it appropriate to argue with my wife and I during dinner in full view of my 21 guests. Looking for customer service? Go elsewhere. Scary - Drove out after dark to assist family members that were lost. Was pulled over by a seemingly intoxicated staff member. Threatened to fine me for speeding. The state of the roads is appalling. You couldn't speed even if you wanted to. The manner in which he approached my car and blocked me in was a very scary experience, almost similar to being hijacked. This is how they treat paying guests. Unhygienic - We realized too late that the scullery was roach infested. We had to discard most of our groceries. On day 1 we asked for the showers to be unblocked and the braai to be fixed. We stayed 2 nights. No one bothered to assist or follow up. We've used Protea by Marriott resorts previously. I'm surprised they've endorsed such an appalling establishment.

Take time out from your busy schedule to book a weekend away at Makhato 84, and in a short time you can be sitting around a glowing fire, listening to the sound of howling jackal, and breathing in fresh air under the Milky Way. Makhato 84 is a luxury bush lodge located in the well-loved Sondela Nature Reserve. Makhato 84 is roughly 10 km from Bela Bela, 90 minutes from Johannesburg International Airport.
This is a very comfortable self catering home in a game park in the Bushveld. Plenty of accommodation, Braai (BBQ) facilities and fridge space, it is also serviced daily by very willing staff. We had a fantastic time and would go back anytime. Things to note: 1. Roads aren’t tarred because it is a game farm and guess what? Dirt roads mean dust or mud depending on the weather. So please don’t complain. 2. Self catering means breakfast is not served! 3. Bushveld and game farm means it is in a quiet area because there are animals around and you are privileged to be in their area, enjoy the close encounters and the sounds of the birds and the bush. 4. If you want entertainment and nose go to the reception/entertainment area away from the peace and tranquillity of Makhato. It is about a 20 minute drive on dirt roads. Above all if you choose to come here you will love it as much as we did. Thank you to our wonderful hosts for allowing us the privilege of using your house which is in such a beautiful setting. I wish we could have stayed a lot longer.
