The Māori call Auckland Tāmaki Makaurau — a maiden desired by 100 lovers,
and a valuable territory fought over for centuries for its fertile land and
natural harbors on the Pacific Ocean (to the east) and Tasman Sea (to the
west). Today, it’s New Zealand’s largest city: A vibrant and diverse place
where nature and urban life go hand-in- hand, with 48 volcanic cones, more
than 50 islands, and 29,000 km of coastline and beaches just minutes away
from the arts and shopping of the central city.

Rustic, comfortable, kiwi "bach"-style accommodation, set in a bush-clad section. Each of our bungalows has its own individual character and its own private space - and only a 5 minute walk to the beach. Bored with bland chain hotel rooms? We are a family owned and run business, offering self contained, self catering accommodation in your own little slice of Waiheke. A perfect space to relax and wind down, 5 minutes walk from one of the best beaches on the island. Waiheke Island itself is a must for anyone visiting Auckland. Beautiful beaches, clear water, vineyards, restaurants, art studios and galleries and much more to explore. Palm Beach Bungalows is an un-staffed property so we will not be on-site during your stay, and the cottages are well separated and private. This is an ideal place for people who are looking for a place to retreat and recharge. Please note that Palm Beach Bungalows will require all arrivals to provide proof of their Covid vaccination (in line with recent government announcements). We also require proof of identity (eg. passport) to validate your vaccination pass.
Will definitely go back and stay at The Treetops. A lovely little place nestled in the bush with a balcony that is surrounded by bush and wildlife. A weekend stay here was amazing and an experience not to be missed. Book ahead and the rates are cheaper, and would definitely recommend a wine tour on the island to complete a weekend you wont forget!

Spacious, comfortable units, set in 2.5 acres of garden grounds, Aotea Lodge is perfect if you are looking for a quiet retreat. Surround yourself with abundant bird life, and enjoy the beautiful safe swimming beaches. The Irish Bar, restaurants, shops, cafe and other amenities are also nearby.
This has to be one of my favourite trips to date. Staying at the Aotea Lodge in unit 2 was just right for us (2 adults and 2 children) then another adult joined a few days into the trip and still plenty of room with everything we needed. Fiona has been fantastic since we first booked the trip and booked us and our car on Sealink at a discounted rate. Her place is wonderful with plenty of bird life and her pets of course including Snugs (cutest and most polite wee dog) a few chickens wandering around and some interesting wee pigs. And the spot is perfect! A few minutes walk from the beach and the store down the road. Even managed to do a 5km run each morning with the best views you could ask for. Fiona is very knowledgeable about the island and more than helpful to answer any questions. Lovely place and will definitely be returning:)

I've stayed several times. By myself, with my partner, with my kids plus extra kids! Just love it so much. Wine on the deck is awesome. Watching the sunrise from the deck is beautiful! Everything is clean and well-organised. Charlie and Russell are wonderful hosts.

Don't let the frontage and location fool you - The room was modern (it appeared recently renovated) and had a great bathroom. Whilst not large, it suited what I needed as a solo traveller, and had great things like air conditioning, fridge, microwave, Freeview on the TV, and it was a very clean space.

Lovely staff, great set up. Immaculately presented. Nice and handy to beach. Very comfortable bed and nice a quiet. Surrounded with only the sounds of nature. All facilities in good condition and very clean and well stocked. Can’t fault at all and will definitely return.

This is suppose to be , a motel for tourists, ver disappointed, the place is dated and lots of areas need up keeping . Carpet very worn . Cutlery does not match , 1 teaspoon for 2 people. Forks one very small , the other damaged. The charges are excessive for what we got. Spa pool was good and in lower rooms. Not good for elderly people.. the place is advertised as up market !,

This is a Motel for the down and out. You need to be aware of the crime and Police call outs to this motel. I live with this every day. The Motel is not what it appears to be in the advertising and images. If you want a good nighs sleep with no sirens at your door step best not stay here. You might think it's cheap and convenient but is it a safe enviroment for you and your kids?

Welcome to our small social backpackers on the magical Waiheke Island, the island of sun, wine and fun! Only 35min from downtown Auckland. Waiheke is so close, yet so far removed from the rat race of Auckland City - come and see why Waiheke was voted one of the worlds top island destinations in the world by many travel magazines. The Hekerua Lodge Backpackers is centrally located secluded on an acre of stunning New Zealand native bush, only 5 minutes walk form Little Oneroa Beach and another 10 to the shops We cater specially for the international youth travel market, a place to meet new people, laugh and dance in paradise, so if you wish to socialize and have fun then the Hekerua Lodge Backpackers is the place for you!! We offer a chilled spot to get away from it all and immerse yourself in island and backpacker life. We have no TV so relax on any of our sun decks, take a dip in our rock pool or just wash it all away in our spa pool. Get involved with all our fun activities in the camp-ground including volleyball, cricket, beersbie and yoga!
I booked into this hostel by mistake, and now I don’t want to leave! This is such a welcoming place, from staff to guest, just get involved in the community vibe and you’ll be rewarded. I feel very lucky to have found this special gem, and I can’t wait to return and bring friends. The facilities are excellent. Hekeruah has everything you need for a comfortable stay: great beds and showers, a spa pool, a sociable deck area and beautiful scenery, whilst only being a short walk from the beach. There’s even a fabulous veggie garden and friendly dogs! The owners Tom and Audrey are extremely kind and generous with their time, their home and their energy. They’ve created a very safe, non-judgemental and seriously fun Waiheke world of their own and they’ve managed to fill it with lots of like-minded and cool souls. I’ve made friends here. Thank you, Hekeruah... you gave me everything I needed and so much more! See you soon! Anna
