My husband and I took a recent trip from the USA to Ireland for our 40th wedding Anniversary. The absolute highlight of our trip was the Burren trail ride which we booked with Cooper's Hill Equine., We have some experience riding, but are by no means seasoned riders. Right away James made us feel at ease with his sense of humor, and warm personality. All the staff were wonderful, and their love of their horses is very obvious in the way the horses were handled, and the relaxed personalities of the horses themselves. We were paired with the perfect horses for us, both very gentle with great personalities. I was on Midnight, and Bart was on Mr Eastwood. Our adventure started in the shallow water of Galway Bay, then continued up into the Burren Mountains on an ancient road that wound through the breathtaking landscape. We both highly recommend Cooper's Hill Equine to anyone that wants a special Horseback riding experience in Ireland! Special Thank You to James for taking so many wonderful photos of us of on ride.

Ceili by the Lee

Ceili by the Lee is a traditional Irish social gathering. It's hard to be all things to all people, but we try our best: whether you want to learn to dance in the old Irish style, get fit, make new friends, or simply have the craic we have you covered! Combining the hectic energy of a party in an ocean liner steerage with the nostalgia of a Gaeltacht days fado, this is an activity that won't disappoint! Come along from 8, and the MC will show how they used to do in old Ireland. Neither aptitude nor experience is required, as the Messrs O'Toole are renowned for turning two left feet into a matching pair. Mondays at 19:30 in Crane Lane on Phoenix Street Admission €5 Check FB for more info!

A great experience the few times I went! Each week starts with the basic steps, which is great for people like me that need a lot of practice. But it's never boring because of the enthusiasm of the instructor and the different dances every week.

I have had a house in Caherdaniel for just over 20 years but following Johns hugely informative tour this morning I realised how little I knew of what is available along this beautiful coastline. John has a vast knowledge which he shared in such a relaxed manner. I love to cook and can see many hours spending time scavenging the shore in search of a delicious meal. Fantastic value. Dermot Keating Following my last review I have foraged the shores/rocks of our beautiful local beaches for seaweed spaghetti and other wonderful offerings as shown to us by John. Last night I cooked the spaghetti in a mixed seafood dish with herbed tomato sauce and it was utterly delicious especially knowing how much natural goodness was being absorbed from the sea. My dinner guests were amazed at the taste and texture provided by the seaweed and are intent on booking a walk with John Fitzgerald. This is a tour not to be missed if you love the sea and all the health benefits it provides (10/10). Dermot Keating
