Wales' spectacular scenic rural heartland, and the site of Brecon Beacons National Park, Powys is a lush land of verdant mountain valleys, craggy caves and quirky towns. The staunchly nationalistic area offers appealing outdoors opportunities. Canter on horseback through the rugged Brecon Beacons mountain range. Walk or cycle the charming valleys. Other draws are commanding Powis Castle near Welshpool and the Centre for Alternative Technology, a sustainable development center, near Machynlleth.

Thanks to the staff; great instruction, amazing surrounds (and private rally tracks) this day was absolutely great fun. Most of us were novices (they they cater for more seasoned drivers as well) and I have to say that at the start I thought "there's no way I'm going to be able to go around the track like that"! By the end of the day.. well ok... I wasn't consistent, but defintely got some good power slides around the track going. Then there was the rally driving. Then there was being driven at insane speeds... all in all loved every minute - highly recommended.

My 7 year old daughter had such a fabulous evening learning to throw a pot with Alex. He is such a patient and fun teacher who coped admirably with her overflowing enthusiasm. She is thrilled that she made bowls and a cup she will be able to use (once they are finished being fired). Highly recommend this experience and next time I will bring the rest of the family and definitely have a go myself.

Glass blowing courses and workshops at Eirian Studio Glassworks and gallery in Hay On Wye. Hand blown glass that includes studio glass, handmade glass lighting, contemporary hand cut tableware and unique glass jewellery are all made and sold on the premises.
Well woth going on the 1 day beginners glass blowing course. If someone like me can come away with a paper weight, bauble and vase that I'm proud to say I made, then that just shows you how great Rowena and Paul are as teachers. A very enjoyable day.

I normally ride a standard BMW 1200GS. Never been off the tarmac so this was all new to me. I opted not to bring my own bike (great decision). I wanted to learn what off roading was all about and chose the Yamaha 700cc Tenere Experience day. As a much lighter bike than my own to learn on it was much much easier to lift it up if you were to dismount unexpectedly. They provided brand new bikes and very good off road clothing, helmets and proper off road boots. In fact the very best of kit. I had a choice of a standard Tenere or one of 4 available, on the day, lowered versions. I opted for the lower version. This turned out to be a good choice as you will be pretty tired as the day goes on and any extra assistance in getting on and off the bike either voluntarily or otherwise will be much appreciated. I didn’t know that there was a choice so book a lowered one in advance if you are not 6 ft+ tall, or a regular rider of tall off road bikes, trust me, you will have a better day for it. I am 5’ 10” and ride a standard GS without any problems but the extra height of the enduro bikes is significant if you are not used to it. We were given good instruction and information and ride tips/techniques on how to tackle the terrain which varied from mild forestry tracks to more slightly challenging ground as the day progressed. There was always at least two instructors per group. You were never pushed into anything you didn’t wish to do, you ride at your own pace and progress or bimble along as you wished. Stunning scenery is a given in these parts and with great routes and instruction you will have a great day. I do recommend you stay the night before locally if you have to travel some distance so that you are fresh for a great day out. Certainly plan to stay the evening that you complete your day as you will be tired. I look forward to returning for another trip. Good value when compared to the very over priced BMW Adventure Days.

What a lovely little gallery and café! I had visited the area to look specifically in the church, but sadly due to coronavirus it was locked. However, next door was quite a find! The art gallery has some lovely work in, and the traditional Welsh Rarebit from the café was rather delicious. It's in a really lovely setting, and the area at the back has a rather curious statue which I must ask about on my return. Indeed, I shall return! On a sunnier day, to enjoy the garden. Highly recommended.

Had a fantastic morning! I drove the Subaru Impreza and did 2 stages followed by a longer stage and then a competition at the end with 2 timed stages. Also practiced handbrake turns and became passenger at the end when the instructor took me for a ‘fast’ lap. Jordan the instructor was brilliant with his instructions and feedback and gave me loads of confidence and I improved every time as a result. I highly recommend Forest Experience rallying as it really is a great day out and had a good laugh as well.
