I studied at Peruwayna for around two months the end of 2017, taking 20h/week of private classes with Gladys through the B2 level. Even two years later I don't have enough good things to say about my time there. I came to Lima in part specifically to attend this school based on all the good reviews I had seen here, and it lived up to my expectations. Gladys was an excellent teacher, patient, supportive, and always helpful, and my Spanish improved a lot. Besides the instruction, the school was a great environment. It's a great size (small enough to know everybody, large enough to not be empty and to have various levels operating). The staff are all really friendly both with the students and each other. They also do a great job with icebreakers and activities and other things to help students from different classes get to know each other better. The homestay was fantastic as well, I loved the family I stayed with and I have a lot of unforgettable memories and experiences from my time. Lima's a great city to study Spanish: it's cheap (at least compared to the US) and packed with delicious food. Really I don't have anything bad to say about my time. I've studied at a few different language schools in Latin America by now and it's hard to appreciate how well run Peruwayna is until you go someplace else. ¡Espero que nos veamos pronto!

I took private lessons with Irene and was so happy with Hispana in general. Classes were good, the atmosphere was cozy, and Irene was a super talented professor. I give her all of my best recommendations.

Wish we would have had more time to do another class with him. I highly recommend this class and I would certainly go again if I come back! Thanks Art!!

Mundo Antiguo Spanish School is a Spanish language school situated right on one of Cusco's main squares: Plaza San Fransisco! We take pride in our ability to give exceptional attention to each of our clients due to our small size - we are not a "tourist factory". ,,It's not our goal to teach Spanish; it's our goal to teach you Spanish."
Embarking on a 3 month adventure through Peru with minimal spanish vocabulary knowledge I wanted to join a Spanish school. After extensive research and communicating with various schools, it was the personal and warm emails from Mundo Antiguo that won me over. Before arriving Lucile was wonderful and professional, answering ALL of my questions within 24hrs. During my two weeks with the school my spanish had definitely improved. I was in a class of four students with two teachers. My teachers were welcoming and always smiling. Within two weeks of classes I could see there was definitely improvement not only in mine but my classmates Spanish. The practical classes once a week were fantastic! Not only to speak Spanish with others on the street but to also experience Cusco with a local. For accommodation I spent one week with a family. While I was further out from the city, the family I stayed with were extremely welcoming and the food qas perfection. Maritza my homestay Mum was lovely and she even came out to one of the ruins with us. The second week I stayed in the student accommodation which was right in town. The location was convenient and the bed comfortable and warm. Hot showers too. Oh and the view from the roof top was something special. The thing I love most about Mundo Antiguo is the extra activities and social events from salsa dancing to fruit tasting to dinners, karaoke, city tours and even hiking adventures, I had such an incredible time learning not only Spanish but also meeting and getting to know incredible people. The staff are also incredibly helpful answering any of your questions. I embarked in many adventures around Cusco and the advice from staff helped me get to where I needed to go safe and sound. I am so grateful for my two weeks with Mundo Antiguo and would recommend them to anyone wanting to learn Spanish and experience Cusco.

The classes run for 2.5 hours and include: - Explanation of the bean to bar chocolate making process and history of cacao - Roasting and husking your own cacao beans - Making your own cacao paste in the traditional Mexican style with a granite stone morter - Making Xocolatl, an ancient Mexican drink. - Blind taste of different chocolates to understand the differences between commercial and artisan chocolate - Making your own chocolates with Andean grains, like quinoa, kiwicha, and coca to take home with you. The class is taken within our Chaqchao café where we also sell organic Peruvian coffee, organic homemade desserts, craft Peruvian beer and of course our bean to bar chocolates.
We really enjoyed the class with Adrian, he is so passionate and knowledgable about all things chocolate, we’ve taken away a lot of new knowledge and will definitely try to make our own back home, sourcing only the best ingredients! Thank you :)
