New Delhi is all at once chaotic and calm, a complicated city where cows often wander the shanty-lined streets. The 17th century Red Fort is a mass of domes and turrets, while Chandni Chowk is an exercise in friendly haggling. Jantar Mantar features larger-than-life sundials and astronomical instruments that are still used to predict the weather. Travelers and locals flock to the India Gate, the national monument of India that honors the soldiers who died in World War I and the Third Afghan War.

A fun 2 hour Bollywood dancing workshop in Delhi. Individuals, couples or groups of up to 15 people. We teach 3-4 dance forms and make a video with or without Indian costumes (as per your choice and payment). Prior dance experience not necessary. Get ready to dance Bollywood style :)
My best friend and I took an Indian dance class complete with costume. We learned 3 different dances. This was one of the best things that we did while in India! The instructors were great and each dance was so much fun! A great way to experience Indian culture and also a little bit of a work out, lol! Highly, highly recommend taking a dance class with Delhi Dance Academy!

Ananda Sangha Delhi offers an oasis of calm in the heart of the city. Ananda Sangha is a global movement sharing the non-sectarian teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda, author of Autobiography of a Yogi. Ananda Sangha was founded in 1968 by Yogananda's direct disciple, Swami Kriyananda. People from all faiths and backgrounds are welcomed. Visit our our website or stop by for a visit.
I have traveled with Ananda Sangha on pilgrimages to Ladakh (May 2012) and Babaji Caves at Ranikhet (Oct 2017). Led by Daya & Keshava Taylor, both experiences were highly vibrant, joyous and energizing. The tours are meticulously planned and flawlessly executed - be it meals or meditation or nature walks/introspection - the spiritual traveler need have no care or concern, and can remain focused on the spiritual aspects of the pilgrimage. Highly recommend joining Ananda Pilgrimages for an uplifting/purifying spiritual experience.

Workshop on Indian classical music, designed for travelers/expats. It's a 2.5 hr workshop and covers history, terminology, forms, instruments, difference between Indian classical and Western classical music, Taal, Raag and brief introduction to Light classical and Bollywood music. Workshops are conducted Shikha Ganguly, practitioner of Hindustani Classical music for the last 33 years.
She taught me not only how to play traditional instruments like sitar and tabla but also the basics of Indian classical music theory. It was for me a once in a lifetime experience by the master Ganguly.
