Walked about 1.5 mi of this 3.2 out & back trail with my friend and then had lunch in the cute downtown area after we explored several murals painted all around town. The paved trail is very well done with a cute park and restrooms somewhere in the middle. Felt very safe and enjoyed the walk. Also hiked South Fork Trail just 5 mins away and scenic along the river.

Lake Junaluska Walking Trail

I researched a place where we could take a walk on a paved path on our way to watch a soccer game at Western Carolina. It was a Sunday morning and crisp. We bundled up and enjoyed the walk around the lake. Just peaceful and filled with God's presence. For Covid safety please walk clockwise around the lake. Saw Bald Eagles flying.

We have enjoyed walking the Loop for 40+ years and on our recent visit, our lodging, One South Lumina, was only 50 yards away. The Loop is a 2.45 mile sidewalk trail that runs thru the heart of Wrightsville Beach and is busy with walkers, runners, families and pets. From early morning to late at night, the trail often is crowded with hundreds on the trail and is one of the town's most popular attractions. The route takes you over Banks Channel on the north and south bridges, thru town, past the Wrightsville Beach Park, Harbor Way Garden( Wrightsville Beach Arboretum), Wrightsville Beach Museum of History and there are fantastic views everywhere. We look forward to getting back on the Loop the next time we are in town.
