Once known for smog, traffic and tacky architecture, Athens is a city reformed thanks to fortunes brought by the 2004 Summer Olympics. Spotless parks and streets, an ultra-modern subway, new freeways, an accessible airport and all signs in perfect English make the city easily negotiable. Meriting more than a stopover en route to the islands, sophisticated Athens sites include many pillars of Western history, from the Acropolis to the Temple of Olympian Zeus, as well as treasures in the National Archaeological Museum.

A hidden gem just in the center of Athens. Special thanks to the bartender who was knowledgeable on Wiskey aspects and intoduced some new options to me. Keeping his promise for new tastes next time back. The jazzy atmosphere makes you feel the vibe. Deffinitely a must visit place and for sure my mid week spot for a casual drink with friends. Weekends are quite busy so better be early or book in advance.

I had a great evening at Half Note. Music was great, comfortable, good acoustics, great wine, super atmosphere. Looks like there are a lot of regulars there - come early to get a good seat.
