Spacious Ski Lodge in a terrific location Absolutely magnificent sweeping views across the valley and Nozawa Onsen Resort. We completed a renovation recently to upgrade our facilities. We even installed a fireplace! The lodge has been Number 1 on Trip Advisor since we opened our doors almost 10 Years ago now Mainly due the the terrific team we have working with us We thank all our repeat guests for coming back year after year
We stayed at Villa Nozawa for close to 2 weeks in December 2020-January 2021. It was a fantastic stay - a perfect 2-week ski holiday. The rooms are both clean and cozy, and the common areas are very comfortable. The breakfast delicious, with both Japanese and Western food, all 'home cooked' with great care. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly. Finally, the villa is well located, as you walk to the slopes easily and are 50 meters away from one of Nozawa's best public onsen. A good place to choose!

Unpleasant experience: Check in time is 3pm and they charge JPY 1,000 for each hour that you want to check in earlier. Pretty bad when you arrive late morning after a red-eye flight from overseas. Even worse: Check out time is 10am! And same game trying to charge some extra Cash for some hours extra. This is the most restrictive early checkin/late check out policy that I've ever experienced in any hotel worldwide. Clear decision: Sorry, but never again!

WELLIES is a unique small hotel only one hour from Tokyo in Karuizawa. Chris, the British owner offer gastro-pub style cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. Most of our rooms have cool functional designs and funky British wallpaper. Spend time on the terrace or garden enjoying the natural surroundings (we are very popular with Birders in the winter), or have a drink at the bar with friends old and new. We are only 10 minutes drive from the JR Karuizawa (Shinkansen) , Outlet shopping, Prince ski resort and Kyu-Karuizawa old town. We are less than 5-minutes from Hoshino area (Harunire Terrace, Tombo No Yu hot spring, Stone Church, Seizon Art Museum and Blestoncourt wedding hotel). We are only 3 minutes drive from Naka-Karuizawa station. Convenient for birding. Eat with us or we can give advice on local restaurants and also the inside track on things to do and see in the area. We are about 7 minutes walk from Naka-Karuizawa station. The whole hotel is NO SMOKING inside.
Your homemade cooking was so delicious that remainded me of my staying in England.

There are not many hotels in Hakuba that tick all the boxes. We do! Located in the heart of town with walking access to many shops and restaurants, and a short walk to the main slopes of Hakuba’s main resort, Happo-one. Hot springs onsite Complimentary breakfast Stunning mountain views Free shuttles Hakuba Taproom, a wonderful restaurant with Japan’s best craft beer, and much much more!
Did a super short one night vacation with my family and this place was great. I'm not into onsens, but it was nice to have it for my daughter and wife. They loved it. I loved the views in the morning. We came in on a rainy day, but the morning was incredible! The Hakuba valley area is gorgeous and the view from the room was nice to wake up to. As a previous Hilton and Marriott hotel staff, I was very happy to see the staff service on point. The front desk must have good communication with the kitchen staff because they knew I was coming, and my god the food was awesome. Even if I go back for a day trip to Hakuba, I'll hit up the Hakuba Taproom at the bottom of the hotel. The burgers were super satisfying, and the tacos were awesome. I only tried three of the beers they had (too full), but the beer selection was also good. Looks like craft beers from all over Japan. There's a patio area for eating and drinking, and there are activities mixed in. Convenient for my kids.

Unfortunately we were not very impressed with this hotel. They have a large property and huge potential, but the facilities are run down. I would not say the hotel is dirty, but it is old and worn out. The elevators smell bad. Service was friendly but super rigid. The place was not busy but they had all guests sitting around until the exact check-in time. Free coffee on the first day only. The rooms not so nice neither the restaurants, not bad just not so nice. Also, no safety box in the room. The onsen is a short walk from the hotel, but itself is small and not very clean feeling. The guests also come from the golf course and some are strange; one guy was using his mobile telephone in the onsen. The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. Great fresh air and mountains. The hiking guide at the hotel was so friendly and helpful to give advice. Also, you can drive about 10 minutes to the main road to a supermarket, get food and enjoy eating outdoors somewhere. Lake Matsubara is a wonderful place. Staying at this hotel gives you nice options to enjoy the beautiful mountains of Nagano. The hotel itself is not so great.

From Karuizawa Station is a 10-minute walk. Is a 10-minute walk from the Kyu Karuizawa Ginza. Cheap, is the Sleep Over Pension.
Stayed in a single room with shared bath for a night. Lots of free amenities to take at the lobby. Free flow of water too. The shared bath and toilets are kept clean, so is the room. Location is superb, 15 mins walk to everything - JR station, Kumobaike Pond, Karuizawa Ginza and the Karuizawa Red Bus Stop at Tokyo Harvest Club. Although a 1min short walk through the woods to get to the hotel, it is very safe. Just switch on your phone touchlight if it gets dark. Will definitely stay here again.

We have stayed 4 times with Tsetsu at Meteor. On our first visit my son broke his wrist and Tsetsu was amazing at looking after us and ensuring my son got the necessary medical care. We have always been impressed with his extraordinary customer service and hospitality. This year we didn’t even consider alternatives when we decided to return to Hakuba. Unfortunately due to a misunderstanding the cottage we got was not suitable. No problem Tsetsu arranged alternative accomodation and took us there to view it and then gave us time to pack before driving us there. This guy is amazing and I can’t more highly recommend him to anyone staying in Hakuba - we will be back. Thanks Tsetsu ?

Our hotel is Japanese style inn.I I would like you to enjoy the Japanese Culture. We 'd be happy to help you any time. Please make yourself at home. from owner Takako
Hakuba Ski-kan is an absolute gem of a place to stay. Takako and her family were incredibly hospitable, the location is closely located to the ski slopes and restaurants, and the accommodation itself is very charming and culturally immersive. If you want a true Japanese experience in the heart of Hakuba, I highly recommend Hakuba Ski-kan. Thank you Takako, Kuni and the rest of the staff!
