Loved it here! I walked from the local bus stop in the dark through powder (do not recommend) - but it’s perfect if you have a car/taxi. Definitely do breakfast 1,000Y and dinner 1,500Y here they do a great job, yummy food. You can get discounted lift tickets for Sugi at the front desk. The owners have minimal English but were great hosts. There are female and male baths under the main building too! Located right under a lift, can ski in/out. I will be back.

The lodging has beautiful rose garden which are wrapped with seasonal colour and fragrant in a quiet forest. We are happy if available as a villa of all of you in a cozy atmosphereMasao and Yasuko supportthe resort life of all of you.
We stayed for 11 nights and had a most comfortable and relaxing stay. The accommodation is excellent value for Japanese hospitality. The rooms are clean and spacious. The website photos don’t quite do them justice. Shared bathroom and basin facilities were always clean and rarely in use by others. Masao-san kindly delivered us to and picked us up from the Myoko Snowsports ski school each day (agreed time). Yasuko-san made delicious breakfasts and dinners. We never actually ate out because the meals were so hearty and reasonably priced. Felt like home! Also much easier with our young kids. The meals change daily. The steak and the ginger pork were amazing. Good drying room and coin laundry machine (ask for help to work it). We were very sad to leave. We will definitely return.

We've got all the essentials of a great place to stay; great location, friendly and laid-back atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, and comfortable well-equipped rooms. With both Akakura Onsen's and Akakura Kanko's lifts a few minutes walk and one of the main shuttle bus hubs right outside our front door, you've got easy access to all the resorts in the Myoko valley! There are also plenty of restaurant
We stayed for 10 nights with friends. Our 4th trip to Japan and first to Myoko area. Matt and Jen were super friendly and efficient, so were all the staff. They were always happy to drive us to a restaurant up the street. The room was clean and comfortable and even though we had an ensuite, we used the Onsen downstairs which was great for sore muscles. The breakfast each day was included with enough variety and plenty to eat. The lift near reception was super fast and efficient which was welcomed after skiing. Happy hour from 4-6pm each day was good to sit in the lounge area and enjoy a beer together. Overall our stay was great and even though the snow wasn't the best, we would love to come back in a better year. Thank you.

The inside looked so much better than the outside. The Onsen was really nice and everything is very japanese styled, more traditional and very beautiful. The breakfast is vegan, as a meat eater I found the food still pleasing and with some variety. Healthiest i've been in years. There is a small-ish dry room and a ski rack outside. The hotel is abit hard to get to, you've got to walk pass the slopes to get there, in thick powder it might be even harder. Truely ski in and out, with enough speed you could even ski right up to the front door

"A Real Ski-In Ski-Out Stay" "Right on the slopes at Akakura Kanko" Villa MonRepos literally is on the edge of the Akakura Kanko Ski Area. Open the front door, and you are just a few steps from the groomed slopes. Ski in and out-and enjoy a comfortable, relaxing stay in a friendly, at-home atmosphere of this family-run hotel. Conveniently located for access to the Shin-Akakura and Akakura areas of Myoko. New this year is the hotel's Powder Ski Salon, featuring Myoko's only rentals of DPS skis. Families with small children will appreciate the immediate access to the Children's Slope, also located just below the hotel (and we have lots of sleds and other snow toys to play with). Come back from skiing and enjoy a hot or cold drink at our bar. Free WiFi throughout the hotel.
Booked Villa Monrepos for 3 nights very last minute for a quick get-away. This poperty is absoulutley outstanding! Where to start? The location is perfect. Ski-in ski-out yet still and easy walk into town. The owner picked us up from the train station without any fuss even after we changed our pick-up a few times. Owned and run by the same local family for over 40 years and they make you feel like one of the family. Make sure you have dinner atleast once and it is an absolute must. 10 delicious traditional courses cooked by mum costing about $25AUD. We stayed in a traditional room on comfy tatami mats. The room was large, very comfortable and had amazing views over the ski runs just outside your door. Cozy fireplace and little bar was a welcome sight after a day skiing. Really enjoyed having a drink and looking over the ski run with the fire going in the background while your dinner was being prepared. Heaven!! Bathrooms were perfectly clean and even had a private onsen downstairs. Large ski storage and tuning area that leads directly onto the main run ander the gondola. I love this place! Such a beautiful family that run this little gem. If you want excellent value for money in a traditional villa in a perfect location with amazing food and service then don't hesitate to book Villa Monrepos

What a wonderful place to stay! The family that own this hotel were such great hosts. About a 15 minute walk from town and the ski fields but they offer a drop off service for guests, going above and beyond when ever you need anything. Rooms are small but most places are. Breakfast everyday was a joy.
