Shower curtain or door would be nice. Shower water was splashing all over; Showerhead needs to be replaced. This seems to be a common problem in Zeerust; Tap in bathroom is loose; and Restaurant was cold.

At Rest Guesthouse is situated in Zeerust and offers quality accommodation, ideally suited for business travelers and overnight guests. It is a convenient place to stop over on the way to the Botswana Border. The accommodation comprises 2, beautifully decorated units, each fitted with a queen-size bed, an en-suite bathroom with a spacious shower, toilet and basin and a private veranda.
I really had a pleasant stay At Rest. Regrettably, I was welcomed to the premises by a barking dog with no one to welcome you. After a quick telephone call, all was resolved. I was allocated room (2) which was very spacious. The aircon was working, but did not heat the room. Thanks goodness for the electric blankets which really made up for the poor air conditioning. I was moved to room 3 which was very nice and everything worked well. The only problem was that the toilet window could not close. So if you are old like us, where you have to go to the toilet during the middle of the night, that cold draft coming through the window really gives you the shivers. Other than that, it was a very nice stay in Zeerust.

@home guest house is a welcome haven if you ever find yourself in Zeerust. Spacious rooms with very pretty finishes. I was right at the pool which is always a bonus in summer. Off street parking and quiet surrounds. The great secret is Natasha! Not only is she a delight to deal with, she is always willing to go the extra mile which is extremely unusual in these strange times. I am vegetarian and she makes the best Dhal I have ever eaten and I eat a lot of It. Give it a try, you will love it.

The campsite is new and the ablution block nice and clean. The Kitchen area also to do your dishes. Breakfast was very good with 7 members of family eating at large table. Coffee nice and strong. The Boere wors and bacon with soft eggs was fantastic. Others had the omelet was also good.

For the past 2 years, I have been traveling to Zeerust and utilised this guest house for my business stay. Whilst the rooms and food are good, I never paid any attention to the non-existent security for guests, until I was invaded in my room by an intruder. The thief broke into my room whilst I was asleep but luckily I was unharmed with a few items stolen. There is no security guard on the premises, no security gates on the doors, no panic button, no video cameras, no safe to store your valuable belongings and the emergency number went unanswered after quite a few attempts. In conclusion, no safety measures have been put in place to protect guests. I have been totally traumatised by my experience as a single woman traveling to a remote area. This guest house is not at all secure as there is easy access to the premises. Until the security is upgraded and proper safety measures and protocols are in place, I will not recommend the guest house.
