Today Ystad Saltsjöbad is a hotel under ongoing change. Since May 2007 there are new owners who are now transforming the hotel into a classic New Port hotel. It is all about taking advantage of the local charm and the closeness to the sea and at the same time our fantastic resources. The whole environment is lightened up and modernized and the SPA and conference halls are becoming larger.
We stayed overnight and were really impressed by the friendly greeting at reception, Lovisa and ben especially were very personable and professional. The spa itself is very good but not quite as impressive as the Skansen Spa in Bastad, but still equally as relaxing. I did notice that the water filtration was not particularly good on the long-spanning indoor pool, in addition, we felt that the spa itself really did not take advantage of the wonderful beach-side view/scenery, from most of the pools and hot-tubs it was actually impossible to see the sea, which was quite disappointing. Relocating some of the hot-tubs to a higher view-point would have solved this. The room (317) was small but cosy and quaint, quite classic in design and presentation, unfortunately during the night the room was a little noisy, the doors were very thin and not at all sound-proofed, in addition the room suffered badly from creaky ceilings, next time we would try our best for a top-floor room instead. In addition, there was a wedding during the weekend on which we stayed, the noise in the night from the wedding was audible from the room, slightly disappointingly, but nowhere near as badly as other less-classy venues in which we have stayed. During the weekend, we dined for lunch and dinner, on all occasions the food was excellent and provided with a good selection of drinks to accompany. We enjoyed that the spa/hotel had lots of little areas for relaxing, chilling, reading, even playing a little table-tennis and pool, it didn't just feel like a hotel, but a home-from-home. Despite visiting in February, the outdoor areas were incredibly pleasant and relaxing, we will definitely return in summer!

Very old buildings but nice individually decorated rooms. It is located in the centre of town although some booking pages give the distance as 5.5 km away but that is not correct. Enjoy your breakfast in the garden in the summer or pick pears from a tree in the autumn

Stayed one night. Very nice welcome. There were cutlery, glasses and a refrigerator if you needed to borrow. You could sit in the living room or outside in the courtyard if you wanted. The room / rooms were very cozy decorated. The beds were comfortable. Everything fresh and nice. Highly recommended.

The main buildings were erected in the first part of the 18th century and still have atmosphere and charm from that time. At Stora Herrestad B&B there are ten rooms with charming furnishings that are equipped with their own seating area, double bed, shower and toilet. There is also a dining room, terrace with a nice view of the village, a beautiful garden with roses and flowers. All guests should receive optimum service and the peace they require during their stay. Delicious breakfast buffet waiting for you every morning. Access to free WiFi, free parking, TV and 24-hour reception. We arrange transfers from Copenhagen-Kastrup, Malmö Sturup airport and Ystad railway station for an extra fee.
We were fascinated with pictures of this B&B. It looked like a charming place surrounded by gardens. Of course we were there in autumn, so it did not look like the spring pictures. However, we picked this place, as it seemed to be a central location for our Skåne sightseeing trip, and it proved to be correct. The room we got was an attic room with sloping ceiling. It was very small but charmingly decorated, had no TV (which we really missed at the end of a tiring day) but wifi functioned. The sloped ceiling was ok for the bed, even charming, but very inconvenient for the bathroom. The toilet bowl was placed immediately under the sloped ceiling so you can only sit-down. Men taller than 160cm will have problems to use it standing up. A fridge for guest use was outside our room. There was no micro/kitchen for use, so we had to request the host to warm some sandwiches/food for us. Parking was free and just in the yard. The breakfast room was in the main building. Umbrellas were provided. We had some worries about safety in Covid times. The breakfast buffet was in a small, confined, ante-room where only one to two persons can fit at a time. No signs in the breakfast room on how people should take food to avoid risking infection. We waited until no one is in the ante-room to take our food and it could take some time if other people are not sensitive to Covid times and stay as long as they want inside the room. The breakfast was just very simple, cold cuts, no cooked food besides boiled eggs. During Covid times and off-season, this B&B was too pricey even compared to Stockholm prices.

Good location, newbuilt and fresh. Good breakfast buffet. OK beds, but rooms are nothing extra. No safe, refrigerator, coffee machine etc. When you shower the bathroom turns into a swimming pool. Wrong built floor and clogfed drain (both rooms on different floors). Made the mistake of lifting the shower drain lid, which probably hasn’t been cleaned since the hotel was built. Disgusting! If this is not part of the cleaning instruction you start wondering what is. Could’t get the Chromecast to work on the TV and called the reception for help. After 10-15 minutes ge called back, wondering if it was my own Chromecast. I told him no, it was the one on the hotel TV. He promised again to get back to me, but never did.

Continental du Sud is the oldest hotel anno 1829. Located in the center of Ystad 100 meters from the pedestrian zone opposite the main train station and ferry terminal. The hotel has 2017 completed renovation of all rooms and public areas. The hotel has a restaurant and bar which is open Monday-Saturday. In high season, the terrace is open every day. The art flourishes in the hotel and in the high season is M1 gallery open every day. In connection to the hotel is a guarded and lighted parking. Ystad marina and the beach are within five minutes walk. The hotel has good conference and wedding facilities.
Me and my partner had a very pleasant stay here! We had a suite, it was spacious and bright! Nice decor and modern feel. I liked everything about this hotel, close to the city center, cozy vibe, and the dinner options. Would have given this place 5/5 if it wasn’t for the cleanliness, could have been better. But honestly a very good place

Gardshotellet is a small, family owned hotel in the south of Sweden. We are located about 12 kilometers north of Ystad. All the rooms are equiped with shower and toilet. Breakfast, wifi and freshly squeezed line and towels are included in all room types.
Stayed one night at this old, fine B&B, located out in the countryside about 15 minutes drive from downtown Ystad. Free parking and wifi. Nice reception, nice room, small space for toilet and shower. There was a bath towel but no small towel to the hands and face, but two bathroom mats. Poor water pressure in the shower. The breakfast buffet was small and didn't live up to expectations. But the dining room and the environment were nice. Off-season, only a few guests, so it was quiet and peaceful.

The hotel is in very good position, good distance to everything. But the rest was barely basic. Very basic breakfast and the room was small and old although we paid it for superior double. The photos on the site had nothing to do with the room we got. Over all it was way too expensive for what they provide. At the plus was friendly stuff but that's not enough.

/Anders
