Las Magdalenas Boutique Hotel is a beautiful colonial style mansion built in the nineteenth century, providing the highest quality in all the services and amenities that a hotel in this special category can offer. The exquisiteness of its ambiance, a perfect blend of history and modernism, is ideal for guests who wish for a stay bursting with comfort and personal attention. It is located in the historic center of Xico, on the old Calle Real and the picturesque alley Xonecuila (from its Nahuatl origins), a few steps from the Parish of St. Mary Magdalene, the Plaza Mayor, the legendary Plazuela de los Portales and the main cultural and commercial area of the town, which allows our guests to easily visit the most important sites of the city and enjoy the local culture, traditions and gastronomy
Pros: - the courtyard is pretty - nice king bed - private parking - good breakfast - good location Cons: - mold-infested shower curtain which is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable for a place that calls itself a boutique hotel and charges 70 USD a night (1600+ pesos) - poor water pressure and we lost water during showering for several minutes - indifferent service attention - given the above overpriced overall

It was a little difficult to get to La Querencia because google maps gets lost, but if you give the exact coordinates it will take you there, of course, if you go by car, anyway Xico has very nice people who are always willing to give directions to get there. La querencia is beatiful place sorrounded by green, fireflies and the sounds of the nature, is very peaceful place and comfy. They don´t have air conditioning only ceiling fan, so it gets a little difficult in the night, particularly if you are not used to hot and humid weather. On the other hand, talking about amenities, the restaurant opens at 9AM and they don´t serve everything on the menu, they closes at 8PM, so if you plan to go out be sure that you take dinner before getting to the hotel. They offer the very basic stuff you can get in any decent hotel, soap, hair shampoo, a coffeemaker and couple of bottle water. I would suggest to the manager that if they want to be consistent with their green policies they offer homemade or organic hair shampoo and soap.

Sinceramente yo no regresaría.

Clean and quaint. Located in the sweet little town of Xico, Mexico. This place is pretty awesome. If you are looking for a 4 star service hotel go someplace else. We were the only ones staying here on a Tuesday night. We got in late, had a hard time finding the front door, but finally a lady came and opened up the door for us. My husband and I got 2 twin beds, a view of a courtyard with an orange tree. In the morning we could hear all of the birds singing and waking up for the day. The room was only $400.00 pesos, which is about $28.00 USD. It really is a neat place, I would stay there again.
