Unexpectedly stayed in Wonju and didn't have much choice around the area in term of hotel. Picked Orchid based on location/price but was surprised on the upside. Pro- Location- amazing location (close to bus station, lotte mart, dept store, restaurants). You can almost manage without a car- which is pretty nice. Design- room wasn't big but was very well utilized. Hard to not notice Styler in the room and made good use of it. Appreciated big bathroom relative to bed room (bathtub was well used). TV had smart features- standard by now but not all hotels have it. General new-ish ness as of 2021- The hotel had professional business hotel vibe that I wouldn't have expected in Wonju. felt a bit like Shilla stay at lower price point, which I loved. Con- Toddler was considered extra person, which is fine but it doesn't have a room type that allows 3 people to sleep together. So a family of 2 adults and 1 toddler were forced to get a room with 2 beds (king + single) which is kind of weird.. would've rather have a bigger room with 1 king bed. Neighborhood- the hotel was located close to the bus terminal and other busy nightlife area which is fine for the most part except at night. was not very family friendly. Overall, thought it was pretty good stay and would recommend to others.

First of all, I feel uncomfortale pressure from a receptionist. I can't believe his every single word explaining the price reference for visitors. I don't want to introduce to any international visitor from off shore.

This hotel seems quite new. The neighborhood is quite, but has several restaurants and bars close by. The front desk was very nice and accommodating. They even upgraded us to the deluxe room free of charge when we arrived which had a larger window and an LG Steamer (I'm not sure of the proper name, either way it was cool). I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Wonju or the area.

I spent two nights in this hotel this September 2018. The hotel is convenient and quite, rooms are clean with recent amneties!, How ever almost all instructions are in Korean language only, it's totally difficult to change even the tv channels. However this is a common problem in most korean hotels!

My wife and I stayed here during the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang (15 minute train ride away). This is not a western style hotel per se. But the rooms are clean and comfortable and the owners could not be nicer. Johnee is the most helpful motel owner you will ever find and he will make sure your stay is a pleasant one.

Had the opportunity to be hosted to golf at Oak Valley CC. It's a fabulously challenging course with well manicured fairways and well maintained bent grass green. I believe there are several courses being offered at this membership resort. Highly recommended, if you have the opportunity!

W hotel as all known it's always branded itself to be trendy, fashionable and probably a bit pricier than others This one is no exception. It has a very nice and scent cafe bar at its lobby floor and definitely a good place for some business catch up. It's relatively not as noisy but u get the drink and bar atmosphere you want. Good hotel

The BENIKEA Hotel Munmak opened in July 2012 as a first-class tourist hotel with 66 guestrooms, business rooms, banquet hall, live music cafe, and other comfort and entertainment facilities. Munmak is located in an easily accessible area and is close to Century 21 CC, Oak Valley, Ganhyeon National Tourist Park, Chiaksan National Park, Pak Kyongni Literature Park, Geodonsa Temple Site, Beopcheonsa Temple Site, and other interesting tourist spots.
Stayed here for a nite on the way to Nami Island driving from Busan. Wanted to stay near Yeoju after visiting the Outlet. The hotel is a bit dated but fortunately, the toilet and room are clean. Free parking is available in front of the hotel and if it is full you could park in an empty lot owned by the hotel nearby.

If Wonju town isn’t enough of a getaway, Wonju Hoam Cottage Pension located in the more rural Munmak-eup, is a sure thing for some peace and quiet. All units (that are all separate houses) have a river view and a balcony. The interior is a bit old but with the rustic vibe of the place, it was just fine. We appreciated the heated bathroom floors during our winter visit. There is a nice boardwalk that parallels the river which was great for morning/evening hikes. It’s a three kilometer car ride into Munmak town so it’d be best to bring all the food to prepare. We will definitely make a return visit here whenever we need to find some peace.
