Grade I listed circa 16th historical building, now open as an award winning country guesthouse (5 stars + Gold Award). Delightful guest and reception rooms. Sumptuous four poster rooms with hydro massage power shower & steam enclosure or Jacuzzi bath + TileVision colour TV en-suite. Walled gardens / private parking. Hearty breakfasts and imaginative dinners (fully licensed) using predominately Cumbrian free range produce. Conferences, celebrations and licensed venue for small weddings.
This is a lovely place to stay, immaculate. The only negative was the room we were in you had to walk up quite a few steps to get to so anyone with a disability would struggle. Breakfast was great and staff.

I regularly stay at this accommodation whenever I am working in West Cumbria. I won’t bother listing all of the attributes as it hits 5 out of 5 in all categories! You could pay far more and get far less with certain other accommodation in the area. A real home away from home. Excellent.

This lovely little Hotel is right in the centre of Whitehaven. It's been built in four lovely old Georgian houses. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with little extras, such as complimentary biscuits, crisps etc. The Breakfasts were first class as was the evening meal we had one night. The owner and staff were friendly and welcoming. Though there is no parking there is plenty of relatively cheap carparks nearby. We would thoroughly recommend this Hotel if in the lovely Georgian Town of Whitehaven. .

A family run hotel in the Georgian town of Whitehaven in the Western Lake District.
We came to whitehaven to visit my brother, I would recommend not to stay there, it was so run down, the staff was so slow, our room was not cleaned in our stay, we had a wall for a view from our window. You had to order your breakfast the day before.rooms were so old and dated,

The Mansion is a long established dog friendly guesthouse on the edge of Whitehaven. We have many facilities at The Mansion some you might only expect from bigger hotels starting with our indoor heated pool, sauna box and hot tub. There are kitchen facilities and fridges allowing guests to self cater if they wish. We have ensuite rooms all with TV and free, newly installed, business class Wi-Fi, we also have twin and family rooms. Other benefits are our large well lit car park and cycle store if you are doing the C2C, being next to the coast we have some spectacular walks only 5 minutes walk from the door, the popular St Bees beach is only 10 minutes away by car and we are dog friendly so your pooch can come too.
We were greeted and shown around the house and the facilities as soon as we arrived. The room were clean and well kept, comfy bed and plenty of teas, coffees etc and a place to fill up again if you run out during your stay. Breakfast was lovely, with a full English and other things available. A fabulous place to stay!

A warm and friendly relaxed atmosphere welcomes you at Tivoli Guesthouse courtesy of Andy and Maureen. Tivoli Guesthouse is in a quiet central location close to all amenities and is an ideal place for either short break or longer stay. Tivoli Guesthouse is particularly popular with cyclists and walkers alike as Whitehaven is the official start (or end point) for the C2C (Sea to Sea) route
I had a lovely stay at Tivoli guest house...the hosts Andy and Maureen are true gems and nothing is to much trouble to make one's stay welcoming and special. A truly wonderful breakfast starts the day ? I was given a free parking permit for my stay and parking in Whitehaven is plentiful and a 24 hours ticket only costs £5. The West Cumbrian folk are so very friendly and helpful... I'll be back

This was our second night on our coast to coast walk. Jasmine House is a short distance from the official path but easy to get to. We checked in around 4:30 and were greeted by the friendly owner Jean and shown to our rooms. Our room was very pleasant with an en suite with a shower, the only negative was that the room and bathroom were quite small. Having a fridge in the room was useful. The b+b has no restaurant but Jean offered to drive us to a nearby restaurant and pick us up afterwards - what service! The breakfast was freshly cooked with a fresh fruit salad to start and a wide choice of main breakfast. Recommended!
