We were very happy with the hotel and our stay was a good experience. We were suprised to be told on arrival that we should have booked a time for breakfast as 11am was the only time available we feel 11am is a bit too late.

History surrounds the picturesque Killiane Castle and House, warm family hospitality is its unique trade mark. Elegant, comfortable bedrooms with modern amenities, drawing room with open fire, home baking and garden produce are all designed to afford each visitor with a memorable stay. Extensive breakfast menu. Early breakfast served for ferry. Signposted on N25 Wexford/Rosslare.
Our overnight stay in this castle/country house was one of the very best experiences of our two-week trip to Ireland. Paul and Patrycja Mernagh are gracious and elegant, as is their newly refurbished castle/country house B&B. Both have worked previously in the hotel industry for many years, and it shows. They know how to do hospitality and fine dining. They are not hovering or chatty, but are friendly and make themselves available when needed. The breakfast was gourmet (baked eggs!) and sumptuous, served meticulously. Fit for the king and queen of the Castle, which is exactly how we felt. Our room was spacious and gorgeous, among the loveliest we had on our trip. One of the most unusual experiences we had during our entire stay in Ireland was the permission Paul gave us to enter the 15th-Century castle ruin attached to the 17th-Century country house, and fully explore it on our own. It is well-lit and partially restored (very early but evident efforts). With due caution, we felt perfectly safe climbing the railed stairs all the way to the turrets and gazing out across the idyllic farmlands, something that would never be allowed in the U.S. thanks to lawyers and a highly litigious citizenry. We could hardly believe our good fortune to be able to do this, and we thanked Paul afterward for his—what, courage? Good will towards his guests? Desire to share such a precious heritage? All of the above, I believe. He sadly observed that he may not be able to offer this privilege much longer, even in Ireland. So, come while you can. This place is a rare find; for us it was the treat of a lifetime.

"Since opening the Riverbank House Hotel our aim has been to create a refreshing alternative venue for exceptional yet reasonable accommodation, good consistent food with availability all day and a level of service to be proud of. From the feedback I have received to date I am confident we have achieved, and are maintaining our goals. However we are constantly striving to improve our standards so that you ‘the customer’ receive the highest possible level of service and customer care. Whether you're passing through or a registered guest, on behalf of the management and staff, I wish you an enjoyable stay with us at The Riverbank House Hotel." Colm Campbell, General Manager.
We enjoyed our stay in this hotel very much. The staff here is outstanding, always friendly and very efficient. The room was big and clean, the bed the most comfortable I have slept in lately. The food we ate there, including the breakfast, was tasty, served with a smile. The distance to the town center takes about 10 minutes walking and is enjoyable in good weather. We would definitely return if we are back in this area. Now a few points to consider, the carpet in the room could do with a thorough vacuuming and in this time and age, if we hang up our towels they do not need to be changed.

First of all, this was a nice stay and we really enjoyed the weekend but there were areas that certainly need improvement in the hotel. The initial check-in was a bit of wait as there was only one person on the desk. The room was lovely. No issues. Breakfast was overall a little chaotic. The breakfast area is placed in one corner where the cold breakfast area is directly across from the hot area divided by a rope. In busy periods this meant a bit of a free for all with guests ignoring the one way system. But this wasn't a big issue. Staff I found a little brusque and I found on one occasion a more senior staff member berating a junior staff member which I found off-putting. This should quite simply never happen. Generally staff in the main areas didnt look the happiest and this does not give the best impression though the man on reception was nice and helpful. The staff around the rooms also looked content enough. The breakfast itself needs attention. The bacon was like cardboard and the white pudding was far to well done and was rock hard. Sausages were nice. Eggs a bit cold. Crossants and breads were lovely. All in all a nice stay but so much more could be done in terms of small touches and more professionalism. I have stayed here before as its a great location but Id overall have to consider whether to make a return.

Reeds at Ferrycarrig waterfront restaurant - 2 AA Rosette Award Winner, 5-star Active Health & Fitness club with 20m pool, Olympic standard gym, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room. Supervised children's play programs, Baby Clubbers (0 - 4 yrs) and Crazy Clubbers (4 yrs - 12 yrs).
Ate with friends midweek in the evening. Beautiful location but food was below par. Chips were lukewarm and fish was rubbery in texture, not at all fresh. Table was sticky despite being cleaned before we sat down. Overall it was disappointing and I probably wouldn't return.

The Farmer's Kitchen Hotel was acquired by its current owners in Autumn 2012 and since then it has seen many changes. It stands just outside of Wexford town comprising of 21 bedrooms, all en-suite, our Farmer's Kitchen Lounge, Function Room, Mezzanine Level and of course the charming olde world 'Irene Scallan's Bar' A full refurbishment took place prior to reopening under new ownership and management and we continue to strive for improvement all the time. We pride ourselves on our delicious food and great staff. We will go above and beyond to make your stay a home from home.

The Faythe is in an old house near the town centre. There is ample free parking at the rear. Each room is unique and mine had a bathroom almost as big as the bedroom. The room was very comfortable with tea making facilities. There was a TV and Wi-Fi which was average (on occasion it would say no Wi-Fi). The breakfast is exceptional. Home made carrot cake, banana bread, tea brack and soda bread. Lots of choice of cereals, juice, fruit etc. A menu which includes kippers (very good) and fresh fish and full Irish (in two sizes). Service is excellent. There is a library for guests which includes books to borrow as well as lots to interest the tourist. Special arrangements are made for those catching the 0845h ferry but, for everyone else, breakfast starts at 0800h. Easy walk into town to stroll the quays, try the restaurants and pubs or just see what Wexford has to offer.

Stayed here for a weekend break, this B&B looks quite quaint with its homely looking lounge & diningroom, BUT... it is very creeky and cold. The floorboards make alot if noise which puts you off moving about the place at night as its all floorboards everywhere. The walls are so thin you can here the other guests cough an go to the loo. The bathroom is tiny but the shower was powerful enough altho very dated with dirty grout an old fittings. There was a glass shelf just above the tiny sink which makes it impossible to wash your face without hitting your head (which I did). The bed was ok and clean, & there was tea & coffee with kettle that had to be moved across the room an used on the floor for the plug, then taken back to the small table it sits on for show beside the tea bags etc. The selection is very basic, maybe 5 tea bags 5sachets of sugar & 5 coffee sachets. Breakfast has to be requested at your last breakfast one day before, and if you change your mind then tough, I asked next morning if i could have an omellette instead of the poached eggs I had ordered the morning before and was told its too late to change it. To be honest I don't really know what I fancy for breakfast one whole day before, I generally like to see how I feel that morning. I didn't get the feeling we came first, more like we had to fit around Margaret! (The owner) We were asked to turn the tv in our room down on the Saturday evening, which we could barely hear due to the person above stamping about on the creeky floor, banging and dropping things. There is no food served at anytime except breakfast, so you will have to take some sort of munchies for inbetween, and you definately need a car to stay at this B&B as there is nothing close by or in walking distance. I do think it would be a more pleasent stay in the summer months when its less cold an you're barely in the room or B&B. To be honest I didn't find the owner to be over friendly atall, there was no conversation or small talk, very matter of fact from the day we arrived, I feel we left as strangers, which was very disapointing as the Irish are famed for being friendly or so they say! Oh yeah take plenty of warm clothes, as the heating goes off at night , when we said we were cold we were told theres a blanket in the wardrobe lol. To be honest id rather have stayed at home! Thats how this experience has left me feeling, that I wasted good time & money on the whole weekend stay. No I won't be back, an I doubt the owner cares either way about anything but herself!
