First I had to wait almost 20 minutes for someone to show up at the front desk to check in. Finally someone came down in the elevator to the desk and argued with me that they were just at the desk. After checking in and going to my room the hallway reeked of marihuana. I called down to the desk to report the issue and requested 3 additional pillows. Finally after an hour I went down to the front desk and waited for them to provide them while the receptionist was on a personal call. When I completed a review on their website I received a response from their GM "I have received your review of La Quinta by Wyndham White Plains-Elmsford. I appreciate your feedback; this is definitely not the experience we want you to have when staying with us! Your feedback will help us improve our operation. Rest assured your comments will be shared with our team, and it’s through comments such as yours that we’re able to improve. Thanks again for your time, and we hope we’ll see you back with us at La Quinta Inn and Suites once again. On Tuesday, June 7, 2022, my 83-year old mother (who uses a walker), 2 sisters and I traveled 110+ miles by car to attend my uncle's funeral. We stayed at this location 1 night in an accessible room. I was unable to drop my mother off at the entrance of the hotel due to repairs being made to the front of the hotel (they were repaving the front entry driveway). We needed a luggage cart to carry our belongings inside the hotel; one cart was in use, and the staff was unable to locate another cart. While checking in, a heavyset man behind the front desk explained that there would be a $100 hold placed on the credit card used online to pay for the stay in case we ordered something from the lobby convenience store or other. I asked "other" like what? He said if something is wrong in the room after we checkout. I explained to him that my mom, sisters and I (we're all OVER 50 years old) are here to attend her brother's funeral the next day. I assured him that we had no intentions to do anything wrong to the room. He said after we checkout, the $100 hold would be released on the credit card within 3-5 days. As of this writing, it's been 1 day since checkout and the $100 hold is still on the credit card. We paid for our stay online in advance, and nowhere during that process were we advised that there would be a $100 hold place on the credit card. If the $100 hold is standard policy at Hampton Inn & Suites, this policy should CLEARLY be stated while making online reservations. Had we been advised of this $100 hold in advance, we certainly would NOT have made a reservation at this location. I hated that we had an additional unexpected expense at this location during our bereavement. As a repeat customer, I expected better from Hampton Inn & Suites. I'm very disappointed.

Recently stayed at the Hyatt in Yonkers NY. On our way back home, we realized our jackets were left in the armoire. Called 3 times to find out if they found them, each time we were told someone will get back to us. Finally, we got a call back to say they do not have the jackets. No apology or any offer to make it a better situation...rude actually. If housekeeping were doing their jobs and checked the armoire when cleaning the room, they would have found the jackets. If they were honest workers, they would have turned the jackets in and someone should have called us , out of courtesy, to say “we found your jackets, we will be happy to mail them back to you” , like a reputable hotel would do. This did not happen, so this indicates they were taken/stolen from a hotel employee or the people that stayed there after us (but housekeeping would have checked the armoire as part of their cleaning routine/requirements). What other reason would there be that they do not have our jackets?? The hotel needs a better system of reporting personal items left in the hotel rooms. If the company cared about customer service at all, they would look into it further. We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times in the past, but will not be returning. We realize the hotel is not responsible for lost or stolen articles (but this should not include employees!!) The Hyatt did reach out to us and offer 15,000 points on our rewards, but ultimately, we should have been reimbursed for the stolen items.

The hotel sits ontop of a hill. Very close to New York City without the hustle and bustle of the city life. The service here has been phenomenal. Any questions I had the staff easily answered with a smile. All the staff have been so friendly, they need to watch out I may not want to leave.

We were looking for a hotel to stay a night after flying from LAX to EWR and before heading to Massachusetts to watch our daughter’s tennis team play in NCAA D3 Championships. This hotel had good ratings and was affordable. It fit the bill. It was clean, comfortable, quiet and has a good breakfast buffet with numerous options. As Hilton members, we were upgraded and that was a nice touch. It was a good stay!

I stayed here for a one night meeting for work. The hotel was clean, just slightly dated. It likely needs some updating. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! I would stay here again. Thank You!

Although I tend to have the opinion that everyone is entitled to theirs- I don’t agree with the last two comments/sentiment for this hotel that I have visited for 4 Years for my company. The staff is wonderful and friendly- the rooms are always clean and I stay multiple times through the year. The restaurant is fun and the patio outside is relaxing. This team works hard and they are so busy and sometimes things happen. People are human. Doing the best they can do. I enjoy my stays at this hotel and plan to keep returning.

We had several rooms for one night this past weekend. The carpeting in one room was wet (probably a leaking fridge) and the other room had no soap. Neither not that big a deal, but combined with loud air conditioning and extensive construction currently on-site, can't give higher than average review, especially given the room price. I agree with a previous reviewer that rooms are in need of an update. If price was $100 less a night, would have been 4/5.
