Nedile Lodge is situated in the Malaria free, Welgevonden Game Reserve 3 hours drive from Pretoria. Welgevonden Game Reserve is a declared Heritage Site of 36000 hectares (more than 80000 acres) bordering the Marekele National Park and part of the Waterberg Biosphere. This true bushveld environment is home to some of Africa’s most sought after game species, including one of the largest collections of white rhino on private land. Other species housed within this reserve include elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, eland and many other varieties of antelope. There may even be the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the aardvark, brown hyena or rarely seen honey badger
This was my second time visiting Nedile Lodge and once again the lodge staff exceeded my expectations. The rangers at Nedile are top-notch. They not only know the roads of the reserve like the back of their hand they also understand animal behavior. This has allowed the rangers to get us to the right spots and at the right time to see some of Africa's Big Five Game. While not on Safari drives the staff at the lodge pampered us. From the luxurious meals to the wonderful cocktails. The chef at Nedile prepared wonderful meals all throughout the day that would rival most big city high-end restaurants. Need to unwind? Nedile has you covered with comfy cozy indoor and outdoor seating. If you are relaxing on the deck which looks over the reserve you might see an elephant or two at the watering hole below.

Join us for spectacular sightings of the iconic African big five.
The owner collected us beyond the gate, as the rain had damaged the access road. We immediately felt at home: he, David, and his wife, Anriette, as well as the managers Gerhard and Priscilla breathed warmth and hospitality. Also the rest of the staff made us feel a very welcome house guest. The tent was spacious and well designed; the view on the Sterkstroom river was great. The central lounge is rather large and furnished quite homely. interaction with other guest is possible, but not required. The meals were different every day; even after 5 days they managed to surprise us. We were enthusiastic about the portions and the way meals were spread over the day. Enough for the big eaters, still appetizing for the small eaters. Especially my birthday was memorable, with a birthday cake and a choir, as well as a romantic dinner for 2 and a foam bath…. The safari drives with Charles and later Gerhard were fantastic; despite the setback of the high water and the rainy weather, we have seen the different landscapes Waterberg has to offer, as well as the variance of animals. We enjoyed the stories by Gerhard and were amazed by his tracking skills. All in all, we have promised ourselves to visit again in a different season.

Makweti Lodge in Welgevonden Game Reserve is magical! The lodge is truly “out of Africa” setting, with only 5 very private guest accommodations, you feel like you are visiting friends. The natural beauty, the amazing game drives and the passion of Roelof (our guide, driver, f&b server and more!) was unsurpassed. Another plus, an easy drive of about 2 1/2 hrs from Johannesburg. We can’t wait to go again!

I stayed at Nungubane for 4 days in May, What a wonderful place. Very intimate with only a few rooms, which allowed for great interactions with both the staff and other guests. Cosy little bar, great food and fantastic guides for the game drives. The rooms were beautiful, spotlessly clean and well appointed and the whole lodge was well managed and friendly. The game and birdlife in the reserve is of a high standard, I was lucky enough to see a great variety, including the elusive Aardwolf! A special thanks to Peter, Keegan and Bertud for making it such a memorable experience. I shall return!

Laluka is a small family-owned and operated luxury lodge in the heart of Welgevonden Game Reserve in Limpopo, South Africa. We strive to have a low impact on the environment and offer an unforgettably personal experience of this incredible corner of the world.
Laluka: Grow in wisdom & become intelligent. This is what we experienced during the 3-day stay at the lodge. Our private villa was amazingly stylish, with a super king size bed (2 meters width), a bath and 2 showers ( inside and outside) and lots of small attentions. For each meal there were different options, also vegetarian dishes. The vegetables & herbs came right from the farm to the plate. We had a diverse wine & dine experience , with a brunch at the riverside, a brai dinner under the stars or a dinner around the fire at the boma. The staff was extremely friendly & very attentive. We enjoyed the early morning and evening game drives, the bush walk, a massage and mod treatment at the Spa. We can highly recommend the Laluka safari Lodge. Three days were too short to enjoy fully the Laluka experiences. Thank you Laluka team!

Then head home for a scrumptious breakfast before settling down for your midday siesta. After sundowner drinks, allow the darkness of the African bush to envelop you on your evening game safari. Nightlife abounds in the African bush and dangers lurk everywhere. Lions on the hunt and leopards stalking prey in the cover of darkness are truly magnificent sights to behold.
Our family visited with my mother of 82 and my uncle of 88 years old. The staff did a wonderful job in making it possible for them to enjoy the park and the lodge. My mother, who walks with a walker was placed close enough to the main building. The staff was also very flexible in pick-up and return times and we also in the length of the game drives. When my uncle and mother did not join the early morning game drive, the terrace holds a beautiful view of the plains, with sight on a waterhole where they good constantly see zebra's, waterbuck, monkeys etc. drinking. The driver of the lodge is one of the most experienced and long-time involved in the park and knows exactly where to go to have great wild life viewing and sundowners! Super value for money and we cherish the fond memories of this trip. Thanks, Teun

Izingwe Lodge is an exclusive hideaway nestled in a valley in the Waterberg Mountains in Limpopo Province, South Africa. It is situated in the 100,000 acre, malaria free Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, only 3 hours drive from Johannesburg, OR Tambo International Airport. Flying in by helicopter is also an option and takes only 50 minutes from OR Tambo International Airport. The lodge is located in the southern section of the reserve with breathtaking mountain views and classical African landscape. With only three villas and the lodge accepting only single party bookings, guests are guaranteed exclusivity both at the lodge and on safari.
We visited Izingwe Lodge just after Christmas, making the journey from our base in Capetown. What an absolutely wonderful experience! If you are reading this and considering a visit don’t think about it any more, book it! Our small party of four had exclusive use of the resort. The commitment of Angus and Marion to making our stay unforgettable was so evident and so much appreciated. Without doubt we have never met a game ranger and a team as hard working and dedicated as Angus and all at Izingwe. We experienced some of the most amazing game drives as he always went the extra effort and distance to track wildlife and share his depth of knowledge. Each game drive was a delight; the beautiful setting, the wildlife, the company of Angus, Marion and their daughter Megan, the sun rise coffees, the sun downer gins! The main lodge is stylish and comfortable with a stunning view. We were made to feel so welcome and encouraged to use the lodge and the kitchen as our own (which we did especially for the freshly baked biscuits!) The villas are luxurious and so comfortable and relaxing, especially after the sun rise game drives! We must also mention the food! Everything was superb, breakfasts, dinners, lunch, home baking, wine, etc. All of it amazing. The real treat was dinner under the African stars around the boma with rhino dropping by to say hello. We have had excellent safari before and always fear the next one will not live up to expectations. We have a real problem now as I cannot see how any other safari can exceed Izingwe!
