Reviewed By detollenaereWe staid here for two days. New buildings, nice standard, modern. Lacks a bit of atmosphere. Great service in restaurant. On the negative side there is no hotel service, this had not been made clear. Very money focused 10 euro to park, extra for additional person, pay to swim, pay for fitness etc. There were works on the grounds of the hotel with trucks banging through as of 7 am and workers looking into your bedroom at 5 meter distance. When we complained about this it was confirmed they knew but this is not disclosed on website or at reservation. In the end we felt a bit taken advantage of with the focus on extracting money.

Reviewed By sophia27Nice hotel in good location for restaurants and the seafront and it's on the Berlin-Copenhagen bike route. Rooms are comfortable and clean, quiet at night. Breakfast was good. Secure area for bike storage. Very helpful staff.

Reviewed By murakami18We booked a room with lake-view and ended in a small room under the roof. We hardly could place our two bags somewhere. The furnishing was from last century. When it rains and you open the window the "Spannteppich" got soacking wet. But you need too as there is no aircon and in the room is gets hot like hell. The elevator takes ages to come and ages to go. Breakfast is good even so you don't have to many choice at the buffet. But fine. A little annoying is that the staff attack the buffert at 10 to 11 like locusts to have also breakfast. But the most negative thing was a telefoncall at 11.10 on out day of depature (after spending 5 nights there) "Where are you? We expect you to check out immediately" Finally ther are better choices in Waren for sure.

Clean and smart,but a hot room.
Reviewed By YorkshireAviatorThis hotel is in a converted villa on a street separated from the lakeshore by a hundred yards or so of dense woodland.It is a quiet location at night,and a good starting point for walks directly into the woods.The centre of town is about 1km. Our second( top,in Mansard roof) floor room was spacious and fully furnished.Lighting was excellent for reading in bed or in the lounge area.An efficient fridge was provided,but no kettle. By German standards,the " double" bed was fairly normal- it had two separate mattresses,but no hard wooden box edge or deadly sharp corners.It goes without saying that the bedding( hot weather) consisted of two useless single duvets,but proper top sheets( only singles) were obtainable from the chambermaid.The bathroom was good,with a real enamel bath. Unfortunately,like all rooms in Mansard roofs,ours tended to be hot,and the receptionist was very definite that NO fan was obtainable.I found this a great deficiency in a hotel of this quality.At least there were two widely opening windows,one with a good mosquito screen. We ate dinner at the hotel ,and had good food and service.The menu is changed seasonally,and is biased towards Italian accompaniments.If eating on the terrace,mosquito precautions are required. Breakfast was simpler than dinner,having no hot items apart from eggs.Apart from this ,the main weakness is a lack of genuine boiling water to make good tea.There was a good choice of teas,but all are wasted in this case. To be a real four star,this hotel needs to buy one kettle and 25 fans- not a big order!

Reviewed By mei_haightonClean and neat room, with all the necessities at hand. The sauna in the hotel is very nice! Conveniently located in the center of Waren, close to the main sights. Internet unfortunately was not working. Breakfast is complete with yoghurt, fresh bread, fruit and eggs, but make sure to come early! We came with 2 bikes which we could park safely in the garage under the hotel.

Reviewed By YorkshireAviatorA poor first impression started with the car park,where the only vacant space was partly occupied by the debris of large turned- out pot plants( the car park costs € 3.50 daily).My allocated room was not in the cheerful villa with garden ,as shown on the booking website,but in a building squeezed behind,overshadowed by a steep excavated slope and massive trees. My " superior double" room had a useful balcony ,which allowed a sideways view of the lake; most rooms in the annexe will have a very shaded outlook. The location seemed heavily populated by midges,and I was surprised by the lack of window screening.The windows were also very deficient in curtains- too narrow and not at all opaque.The room size was large,if not excessive,with plenty of furniture, a fridge and a small safe. There was a basic standard bathroom with no bath.I repeatedly struck my head on the towel storage rack when using the WC. There were two comfortable single beds placed adjacently (not a double),with the usual two single duvets,wildly inappropriate to the climate.As a partly attic room,it was too hot on a warm day after weeks of hot conditions.It was dreadful during the night. Several attempts were required to obtain a fan.I was initially told none existed,and then that one would appear in ten minutes.After half an hour,I found a different person on duty at the desk,which is badly located in a cramped narrow space.He again denied that electric fans existed,but ,after remonstrance,made a phone call.A fan appeared eventually.Despite this shortage of a basic,late 19 th century,device,there are sophisticated electric door openers. Breakfast is in the main building,which seems a much more cheerful place -the breakfast room had a fine lake view.The tea was excellent, the bread was fresh,and there were no little plastic tubs of imitation jam.The cooked eggs and sausages were hot. Perhaps the view and elaborate gardens ,especially if staying in the main house,would be highly valued by other people.I felt that the hotel compared badly with the Waren hotel I used last year, especially after my uncomfortable experience of the reception staff.

Disappointing from price-quality perspective
Reviewed By BdUBdUBdURooms are smelling dirty. Although the rooms are big, the beds are reasonable but not very comfortable. The reception is closed at 18.00 PM in high-season. There is no restaurant for diner and lunch, there is no bar to have a drink. The breakfast is good but a bit chaotic. No self-service for the the coffee-machine. Summarizing all this, and taking into the account the extreme high prices of the rooms compared to other hotels in the region. This hotel is a disappointment.
