Five stars! Just Need a Hotel for New Year .. I got a complimentary upgrade to a wonderful suite. The room was really comfortable with amazing views. Thank you for your wonderful Staff especially Mr Lee, the direct manager of the hotel. He assisted me with a lot of things during my stay. They were very helpful in guiding me through the steps. I enjoy the environment and the beautiful ocean view by the hotel. Thank you again for amazing holiday in China with my girl. We will definitely be coming back.

The place is quite exclusive and of course remote. We arrived Sanya and take train to a station called Wanning , hotel arranged a car to pick up. inclusive in room rate . if take taxi will cost approx. 80 RMB. Very nice hotel with individual villas , all with kitchen and private swiming pool. close to Xinglong and very Thai and east Asian style decoration , which is quite interesting place with oversea Chinese back from East Asia. different with other Hainan area. If you have a Chinese driving license would be perfect. The east coast of Hainan is quite nice nature view with mountains and the coast is very privacy and not been over developed .

Le Méridien Shimei Bay Beach Resort & Spa is a modern hotel in Wanning, China situated in the Shimei Bay Resort District. Our property includes roughly 12 hectares of lush landscaping surrounded by hills on the west, north and east accompanied by the gorgeous South China Sea to the south.
We paid full rate while the resort was u Der maintenance, it's not acceptable go to relax on the he beach and having construction site instead. The level of understanding of tourism in this place is out of standard you may expect from any reasonable place in the world, remark this problem with stuff and managers completely unuseful.

The service at this hotel was abhorrent. Staff will not allow customers to swim in the water past their knees, so don’t go there expecting to swim. Breakfast buffet was over crowded and much of the food had no taste. All in all one of the worst vacation experiences I have ever had. If you’re planning to visit Hainan don’t go to this overpriced sand pit with no ability to swim in the ocean. This “hotel” should be appalled by their lack of service and ability.

Location is a bit far from main cities of Sanya and Hai Kou. Need to be prepared to spend time travelling to attractions. Resort is also in need of an upgrade, both rooms and facilities.Only one dinning outlet at the resort and no other restaurants nearby.

We live on Hainan Is. and came here for a 2 day getaway. Last visited in early January 2019 when it was newly opened and obviously had some testing issues. We thought things would be smoother running almost a year down the track so thought we would try again. It’s our second day here and everything onsite thus far has been super underwhelming other than: 1. The hotel grounds which have beautiful tropical gardens and smick designer features and finishes. 2. Beautiful and very comfortable rooms 3. Really clean and well maintained 4. Very nice staff The big problem is, the hotel has zero ambience and lots of weird rules that make the stay feel too restrictive and unenjoyable. We had dinner in the western restaurant last night (one of two options), the buffet on offer was so limited and unappealing that I couldn’t believe it was at a Hilton hotel, let alone a Hilton Double Tree. It was 7:30pm and all the food looked like it had not moved in hours. There were only a few diners in the restaurant. We ordered sandwiches and burgers with chips from the very limited menu, which came out 30+ minutes after ordering. They did taste really good at 88Y a pop. After dinner we wanted to watch a movie in the theatre but it was closed at around 8:30. We walked around the grounds and the indoor pool was also closed. So we’re both kids clubs. We noticed a sign showing all the hours the various pools are open which was a bit boggling. Mini bar is unstocked and can’t maintain a cool temperature, so our children’s milk went off. The staff did supply ice cubes in a big dish to help keep the mini bar cool but it was adequate. No point in having these fridges if they can’t stay cool. Breakfast buffet - again limited and underwhelming. Everything on offer was cold or only very slightly warm so this resulted in all of our first foods being wasted as we didn’t want cold steamed buns, chinese dishes, bacon, sausages, pancakes etc We stuck with made to order eggs, toast, cereal, fresh fruit and banana bread in limited varieties. There were no fresh juices and some staff didn’t know the coffee machine could make cappuccino. Table service was almost non existent until a lady towards the end offered to take away finished plates. No water service. It’s just a whole bunch of little things that don’t live up to a Hilton expectation experience. Kids club - last night we wanted to leave our 4 and 6 year old in the kids club while we enjoyed a sunset cocktail from the nearby lobby bar. The kids club rule here is, children under 12yrs need an accompanying adult! Never experienced this before so spoke to the front desk who gave us a leave pass after some debate. Bar/cafe - my first choice, from a limited drinks menu - a pina colada wasn’t available. Second choice, mojoto came out looking like a soda water. We queried where the mint leaves were so the nice bar man took the drinks away and 5 mins later came back with a few mint leaves floating on top. Tasted like a soda water with a little rum. We were the only people in the bar. Having a live band (singer and violinist) tucked away in the back of this space is such a waste. They gave the area much needed ambience, and now the hotel should be trying to get its guests using these large, pretty spaces overlooking the mountains, lakes and sunset. Today the weather is a bit cool so we will try the hot springs onsite which look amazing. The water temperature is the exact same for each one and only ‘warm’ which I think needs review. There are about 6 different pools, there should be atleast one that is very warm/hot. The staff are always really lovely, and very obliging. They will assist “if” asked. It’s a big standards and expectation issue in my opinion. We have stayed in many hotels internationally and within China and also at a range of hotel brands, so that is what I am comparing this experience to. The hotel has been junked up with karaoke booths, pay to use massage chairs, kids noisy train ride, other noisy car rides. These are all odd to have onsite at a place like this. We are really glad we have a vehicle so we can go elsewhere for meals and when we are bored at this hotel.

We had booked this hotel for 5 nights, but canceled after 2 nights, as we were highly disappointed while staying there. This hotel is very inaccessible - the only access road leading to this Hotel is still under construction (as of end of Dec. 2018). It's a dirt road with many potholes. The hotel is located on a cliff section isolated from the other parts of the Shenzhou Peninsula, e.g. Ala Mona town where for example the Four Points by Sheraton resort and a small shopping mall are located. There no Taxis or Didi cars available and for sure no public transport. Being located on the cliff it is also extremely exposed to the wind. As grass is planted into the walkways of the hotel, the walkways get muddy very quickly. The hotel has two high priced restaurants, one western style and one Chinese, where customers are forced to eat at, due to it's isolation. E.g. the breakfast buffet costs e.g. 158 yuan per person and matches of the food quality expected for such a price. The hotel advertises its-self of having beach access, which you would expect being located in a beach resort area. But in-fact the hotel only has a micro-beach of not even 50 meters, which is only accessible by walking over a rock section, with the risk of slipping into waters of the entrance channel of Potou Bay. The pool area quite small and does not have a lot of chairs to sit on. By the hotel, there is also no bridge across the entrance channel of Potou Bay, as indicated e.g. on Google Maps and Baidu Maps. If existing, this bridge at least would provide direct access to the beach along Potou Bay. So it is absolutely not recommended to stay at this place.

Our family of 8A & 5 toddlers were heading out of the resort, to the shops nearby when the security guard approached us to ask where we were heading. We told him that we are planning just to the shops outside of the resort for snacks and groceries, for some local flavors. He quickly explained that these shops are meant for tourists and just 2km away would be a local street market. Suggested the hotel cab that can take us with just RMB10, and reassured that it is safe. Cab dropped us to a place with just 2 shops catered for unknowing tourists like us and even reassured us that this is the place. We returned and questioned the guard, while he just shrugged and walked away. One of the most important condition for anyone traveling is the safety and trust that the hotel can provide. If a security guard would cheat it's guest, how much can you trust to stay even in the most wonderful resort. The hotel, amid it’s many facilities, failed horribly with just this point to note. And I’m not even going into the other misgivings we had.
