Warmly welcome by receptionists and had to wait for 15 minutes at the lobby due to check in process. Once the process completed we were moving toward to see amazing creations, views by Jefri Bawa. Had a lengthy chat with my friends while watching the beach front. Rooms are clean , tidy and old. Swimming Pool , Coastal line , billete table , Bar and classical music make us more comfy. Food was fabulous, we enjoyed it very well. Services at the Main dining area and restaurants were amazing, received more than expected. I must thank to Mr. Varnajith and his excellent service at Restaurant. Than You Blue Water and Mr. Varnajith

The Villas in Wadduwa is a perfect juxtapositioning of classical Sinhalese architecture styled as “Walauwa” with chic contemporary decor. A notable feature of many of these “Walauwas”, was an interior open space or a garden known as the “medha midula” in the middle of the house. Back in the day, the owners were the landed elites of Ceylon with power, stature in society and considerable wealth.
This is the perfect place to stay if you want a quiet few days away from the city, in a beautiful setting and with great service. The Villas are just a short drive away from Colombo, which really suited us as we were travelling with elderly family members. For visitors that would like to travel further afield, The Villas are also an hour and a half from Hikkaduwa beach and two hours from Galle. The staff were very helpful, attentive and friendly. In particular, Dasun gave us excellent service, made us feel really welcome and we felt reassured that we were in good hands. One of our party has coeliac disease, and Dasun took care to explain which items on the menu contained wheat, and proactively modified dishes so that they would be gluten free. The food was great, and although the menu didn’t change, there was enough variety on the menu to keep us going for the five days we stayed there. The breakfast buffet meals also added some variety, and the Sri Lankan chilli omelette is a must try! The villas are beautiful, clean, comfortable, and spacious. Each comes with a balcony overlooking the fountains/pool, which was very relaxing to sit in. The beach is right on your doorstep. Although it was not safe to swim in during our stay, we enjoyed walking along it and going for beach runs in the morning. We also really enjoyed swimming and relaxing by the pool.

Peaceful surroundings with small Buddhist monastery just around the corner, with wild nature literally looking into your window. Fresh food, clean rooms, nice personnel. The beach is bit away, but 5-minute drive on tuk-tuk is on the house. The beach itself is awesome - endless, serene and beautiful. To-go place if you want to see regular local life and relax.

For those who are wondering if it's safe to travel to Sri Lanka because of the crisis, the answer is "Yes". Had a safe and nice 15 days stay right recently in May. Recommend to book directly with resort, a driver will pick you up and drop you off directly. It takes 1h and 15m from airport to the resort. It's a small resort but all the staff are friendly and helpful. Everyone will greet you. Ayurvedic daily meals, it's a challenge for me because I'm not a big fan of tuna fish and the options are limited for me. However, that's part of the detoxification progress. The room is cozy, but I would recommend to book a higher category. As for the Ayurveda doctor, if they can speak better English that would be great. But the manager, he can speak both and Germany. He is very attentive and tried to fix the problem for me. You will have more than 2h different kind of massage everyday. Lack of petrol, Sri Lankan government had power shut from time to time. But resort has generator perhaps and electricity is always back soon. There are some issues, but they all tried to solve the problem and actually it was handled quite better than I'm expecting. Thank you for the Ayurveda Manager, Chef in restaurant, resort manager and all. Feel like I'm well pampered. All the best and hope the situation will improve soon in Sri Lanka. See you next time!
