Reviewed By marcia hDespite construction and small detour in the area, this LaQuinta is a great place to stay. We found it to be clean with friendly staff that were helpful and courteous. Lots of walking area and grass for pets. Restaurant called the Cajun Craft was nearby and fantastic food, very friendly staff, wonderful outdoor eating patio. Definitely recommend and will stay at this location again. And yes, it’s close to the Magnolia silos. That was not our destination for this trip.

I got in late and was greeted in a very friendly manner was asked if I needed anything including suggestions of any place that would deliver food or places that are nearby that I could go grab a bite to eat. Have you been traveling that is a great thing for the person at the front desk to do. I got a put the room extremely comfortable. Early morning I had a meeting I had to go till I got back they we’re just beginning to tear the breakfast down. The lady immediately stopped when she saw me walk in soaking wet because it was raining outside and asked if I had breakfast I said no and she asked what she could get me that’s going above and beyond in my opinion instead of just finishing putting it all away. I went up to my room finished packing my bag and headed down to check out. This is another place they went above and beyond. The lady at the front desk asked me if I wanted to get a late check out because there were bad storms in the area and it could be dangerous driving. Wow what a class move on her part I thanked her and assured her I would be driving very carefully and away from the storms that were rolling in. This is a spot I will always stay at when I visit Waco which is now going to be seven or eight times a year. Quality place quality people I highly recommend.

Reviewed By kadeema2525The only reason I’m giving this place two stars is for the front desk who was a very sweet girl. If you stay here make sure to ask for the fourth floor. I am staying on the third floor and can hear every step above me and I am not a light sleeper. Housekeeping was very loud as well knocking on doors way too early. The price point in Waco made me think I would be getting a better quality experience. There is a men’s shelter right next-door and some of them made comments when I walked to the silos so parents don’t let your teenage daughters walk there alone or boys for that matter. And I know the hotel has nothing to do with this but it’s just a tidbit for travelers.

Reviewed By Maps26343945125Very warn out old Hilton which had its best time probably 10 or more years ago. It is in desperate need of a refurbishment. Also the restaurant is in a similar shape. Only positive is that you can have a good run along the River. Front desk staff is rather disengaged and doesn’t seem to be happy you give them business. Much better hotels in Waco. Avoid it!

Not sure who is giving this hotel positive reviews, but the hotel is gross. The lobby/breakfast area appears to be permanently sticky and the carpeting is stained in the room as well as the common areas. It just feels icky. The breakfast foods are sparse and of extreme low quality. Just don't bother. While they do have Texas waffles, they taste weird. But then again so do the watery powdered scrambled eggs. Beware that this hotel tacks on an undisclosed "service fee" that is small enough to likely go undetected. It probably also helps avoid detection since they don't seem to provide receipts unless you specifically ask. Just seems to be a small-scale scam. However, with all the guests, these "Service Fees" are a good source of revenue for the scam hotel owners.

Very Nice for Candlewood
Reviewed By pcsanityI generally avoid Candlewood Suites for many reasons. That being said rates were high in Waco and I was arriving late so I gave this one a try. Great hotel. While the services are very limited the price made it an attractive choice. The room was clean, nicer than any Candlewood I have stayed at, and the staff was friendly. The only reason I won't give them a 5 star is because Candlewood Suites only get half the IHG Points. Thanks for a nice stay.

The hotel rooms are showing some wear but clean, great AC and comfortable beds! The best part was the front desk staff and the employee working at the breakfast this morning. So very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was what we’re used to at Hampton. Plentiful and very good. Faith restored!!

We are located near shops and restaurants in the Central Texas MarketPlace and located 5 miles to downtown Waco, Magnolia Market at the Silos and Baylor University. The hotel will offer food 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Guests can wake up to breakfast served fresh every day. They can start their morning with cage-free eggs, steel cut-oatmeal, whole fruit, all natural bacon and sausage, greek yogurt and lots more. Breakfast is free with their World of Hyatt membership. It' easy to join online and there is no charge to sign up.
VERY poorly maintained- don’t stay
Reviewed By ktsixWe arrived for a two night stay, reluctantly giving this property a second chance (after coming another time only to walk into a room with no air conditioning). Immediately upon arrival we were informed that none of the televisions in the rooms worked. The cooler near the check in desk appeared to be out of order, or not properly stocked. We were told there was not bottled water available for purchase or otherwise; it was nearly 100 degrees outside. One of the two elevators had *no lights* inside. You rode in it in the dark. The sink in the room did not drain, so we had to do everything (hand washing, face washing, teeth brushing) bent over the bathtub. We went to put the bottled water that we went out and bought into the mini fridge; we closed it immediately as it stunk of rotten fish. Day two brought no changes, even though these things were supposedly being “worked on.” We are a Hyatt family, having worked for Hyatt for 25+ years; we have never experienced one run so poorly and seen such lack of interest or urgency in correcting the issues. This is a franchised property, owned by de Palma Hotels- definitely not up to Hyatt standards.
