Sitting high atop a bluff overlooking the Mississippi and Yazoo Rivers, the city of Vicksburg was the setting of a bloody 47 day siege during the Civil War. The site of this epic battle is now Vicksburg National Military Park, preserving original fortifications and the U.S.S. Cairo, an ironclad gunboat that once prowled the waters of the Mississippi River. Vicksburg is also the place where Coca-Cola was first bottled, a fact that is happily immortalized at the Biedenharn Coca-Cola Museum.

Be sure to look for additional charges on your credit card. When doing payroll i found an additional unexpected charge. I called but the manager wasn't in. So i left my number for her to call back the next day. She did call back and accused me of stealing a pillow. I explained to her i did not steal a pillow and possibly the room was one short when i check in. I explained im a diamond member with bestwestern and stay there all the time and i have never been accused if stealing. I also wanted to know why they didn't call or email me about this. She said i was a thief and she had no doubt i stole a pillow, then i heard music like i was on hold. A few seconds later she returned. She said she removed the charge and told me to keep the pillow, and again called me a thief. She is extremely rude and unpleasant person. I will never stay there again.

I'm not sure where all the great reviews here have come from for this hotel! I have stayed here a few times, pre-covid, and although it's well past it's prime and can use a serious refresh, it has always been clean. Not so this time. I have been in gas station restroom that are pristine compared to this! The bathroom was just nasty! There was serious black mold all over the base of the door and along the track and pink scum elsewhere. The shower door had so much scum on it it was clearly visible and even had what looked like hair conditioner in a streak down it. The toilet bowl looked like it hadn't been cleaned out in a while, no rim around it but definitely not shiny clean. The vanity was clean enough. The floor of the bathroom was so sticky our shoes stuck to it and left visible footprints!! We put towels on the floor to keep our shoes (no bare feet here) clean. The room was basically clean except for the charging station that was just gross with gunk on it. As I said the hotel needs refurbishment, carpets were scary, the black out blinds had a hole in them, and the door needed to be rehung, but I could have been ok if that was all that was wrong. The location was great and the bed was comfy and sheets appeared clean which is why I gave it a poor rating... otherwise it would have been terrible. I can't imagine ever staying in this hotel again much less paying $200 a night for the privilege"!!

We stayed for 3 nights in Anchuca and we’re in Room one of the servants wing. Our room wasn’t huge but was very comfortable and had everything that you needed. It was clean and well equipped. The breakfast was huge and varied( although we do struggle with grits). The staff were friendly and helpful and the tour and video of the house were an added extra. The location is great within walking distance of the river and places to eat. We ate one night at Anchuca and that too was excellent. Highly recommended.

While the staff was nice, there were so many things wrong. Two of the three rooms we had smelled of smoke and had dirty towels. The elevator was also broken. But lack of cleaning is a huge turn off. At the very least the beds were clean but this did not make us want to stick around for breakfast.

In the heart of historic Vicksburg. Walking distance to restaurants, museums, antique shops, book stores and coffee shop. All rooms in the main mansion. Full breakfast with each stay, social hour, gardens with gazebo and pergola, 4 porches and historic 2-story 4-hole outhouse - not to be missed! Off street parking. Weddings venue, catering available.
This is a lovely B&B built in 1870. We slept in the Scarlett Room which was perfect for us. Since this was the last stop of a 3-week road trip, we had several items to store in the room (like a plug-in cooler); and there was plenty of room for everything! Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. Unfortunately, I could never eat everything on my plate. There's a small refrigerator and ice maker in the dining room for guests to use. This was really handy for keeping some ice packs and drinks cold. In other reviews, I read some complaints about the set time for breakfast (8:30 AM). I didn't find this to be an issue since most people want to get out early to explore the area. We met some interesting folks and held lively conversations while eating. If we ever return to Vicksburg, I'll do my best to reserve a room here!

Stayed one night in the Little Annie room downstairs. It was a good size for myself, a solo traveler. Room was furnished well but perhaps in need of some light updates. This home was built in the 1800’s so it doesn’t have the nicest, newest stuff but it was comfy and the breakfast was nice. Had chicken and waffles, fruit cup, biscuit and coconut cake with orange juice. Afterwards, I stayed for a tour of a few rooms in the home (about 45-50 min) which gave some interesting stories about the home and original occupants. The area is safe and I had a nice walk around the block which is part of a walking tour. If you enjoy historic homes instead of the same ol’ hotel chains, your stay here will be nice. The porch is a wonderful place to sit a spell.

Despite previous reviews we had a great stay. Room was clean and spacious with small kitchenette and seating area. 3mins from National Military Park and 5/10 mins from downtown. The staff were superb, especially Beverly -give her a raise! Also shout out to Harvey again very helpful when there was an issue with the guest laundry.

I’ve stayed here quite a few times in the last several months and usually everything was fine. This last stay did not live up to expectations. The front desk acted like checking me in was an imposition. Went up to my room (223) and it reeked of cigarette smoke. I notified front desk so that I would not be charged when the person after me checked into this room. I had grandchildren w/ me so we unfolded the hide-a-bed and it was full of soda crackers … the list goes on. Leaving on Sunday morning, I was followed to my car by a panhandler waiting right outside the hotel door. He must have thought it was fine to sit on the curb right outside because he went back to the front door, sat on the curb, and waited for the next guest to exit. Again, I’ve stayed here several times w/ no issues - so maybe it was just a one off.

I needed a place to stay on my drive back across the country, with two Tractor/Trailers. The night manager, Christina came out and helped me get parked. The check in and check out were super smooth, the room was great! I was super impressed with everything.
