Reviewed By Paul AWe arrived just after the hotels restaurant had closed and everywhere, including all other cafes and supermarkets, were closed due to it being Sunday evening. After asking the hotels receptionist for anything available to eat, as my family hadn't eaten since around lunch, she bluntly replied there was no food until breakfast. As for the food, no choice, and the food was appalling. We were told the fondue was 'amazing,' so Wednesday evening, we were shocked to have a saucepan filled with 'sloppy' and flavourless cheese, with stale bread, and nothing else. With that, we didn't eat there again. Instead we went up the hill to an alternate restaurant, which made the holiday with its amazing food. The hotel itself is nice, clean, and the rooms are pleasant, all with WiFi, although the walls are paper thin. The spa only opened strictly to their limited hours. We found Marie very friendly, but only if you were a french speaker.

Reviewed By yuyang2020All staff greet with smile. Girl serving beer has an especially lovely face. Quick to check in. Jojo ski is run by the same family and gave very interesting rate. Decoration is nice. Food is excellent.

Quintessentially Alpine, Lovely Atmosphere, Great Staff, Great Food and Logs Fires
Reviewed By danddjacksonThis is our second visit to this Hotel (both over New Years Eve) and it provides the perfect place to locate yourself for a Ski Holiday in Vars being within 100mtrs of the village centre and Ski Lifts / Ski School. Being English and staying at a resort which is not frequented by a lot of UK visitors does place you at a disadvantage with regards to Language but at the Hotel there was always somebody around that could help us. In fact, it does seem that the Owners and staff go out of there way to make you feel welcome and to organise things for you (Lift Passes, Taxis, nothing seemed to much trouble - Thanks in particular to Aggi). The hotel (which is more like a catered chalet) is very comfortable, warm and friendly with the Bar, Communal area and Dining room a lovely area with a large log fire(just the thing to have a post ski or pre-dinner drink). The food is excellent and plentiful and, although the usual Alpine menu of Fondou, Racalette and more cheese is available, the evening meals shied away from them and were a mouth watering selection of other Mountain recipes, Cheers Chef, I now have 3kgs to loose :) On both occasions we have stayed we have in different rooms which we found very comfortable with enough space to move around the ski bags etc. due to the Chalet nature of the design of the Hotel each of the rooms had a little quirkiness about them making them individual and not your usual concrete box. Would I recommend this Hotel, yes absolutely, in fact we are already looking towards next New Year's Ski holiday there

Reviewed By AridzickManager at the réception desk is unhelping and reluctant to provide any service. We asked him to keep our lugages for an hour until UPS service come to take care of thème. He just refused while his two young employees where ready to help.

Friendly, clean and great value
Reviewed By Alex GThree of us spent a night in Les Lores during a ski trip, the room was clean, newly refurbished and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. By staying here, we also benefited from a 15% discount on the ski pass as well as 30% on equipment hire from Planet Mountain (good selection of skis). The evening meal (which can be included in the booking) was copious and tasty and accompanied with wine. The closest ski lift is about 100m from the hotel and it is possible to ski right back to the front door. I will stay there on my next stay and recommend this place.

Unforgettable experience
Reviewed By bgraves1My boyfriend and I spent a week here last January. It was pure luxury! The food was delicious, facilities were amazing and the host was fabulous! We are hoping to come back again in the next year or so. Some evenings the host organises a chef to come in and cook a meal for some of the guests - this is a must and is really really enjoyable. The Jacuzzi/mini pool looks out onto the slopes and also has a fire built in the wall which is incredible. I would 1000% recommend this hotel.

Reviewed By marcbH9662OROur best meal in Vars. This type of establishment was badly needed in Vars. THANK YOU. THE MEAL WAS JUST SIMPLY WONDERFUL. Service was also excellent. Manager very courteous and helpful. We will be back to enjoy other good meal there. Good news for Vars.
