Worst hotel ever! Filthy!! Rude Staff!

Reviewed By sherris793

Reservations for 2 rooms side by side was made month in advance for first floor, mom handicap. Only 1 room on first floor, had another on 2nd floor. Elevator broken, had to go up & down stairs to get mom ready for a wedding. Staff was rude & not helpful. They refused early check in so we could have enough time to dress for the wedding that started at 6pm, 30 minutes away. Part of the guest wanted to use the pool the next day but it isn't even open for the season. I was unable to use the gym as it was marked closed for remodel, but you could see that a treadmill was on through the glass window. Ice machine broken on first floor so there again mom cant climb stairs so I had to assist. The ac didn't work in the stair wells, hall ways or any of the common areas. The city inspection certificate was expired. Overall the hotel was dirty and debris from remodel everywhere. The contractors were not present but there mess sure was. The breakfast area was also closed off as they stated this too was being remodeled. If you wanted anything breakfast, what little they offered, you had to take it back to your room to eat. The vending machine on the second floor was completely empty. The can drinks in the machine downstairs were very old as they had old marketing advertisements on them. The new softdrinks for these same brands have a different logo. When we finally did get to check into our room ---we had to tow all the luggage up the hot stair well and get to the door only to find the keycard did not work. So back down the stairs to stand in line again and get it activated. No apology from the front desk. She seemed put out that we were bothering her. I stepped on several screws on the stairs coming down and also the carpet was loose. The upstairs had a bad odor...like mold. It also smelled like someone had been smoking in the room which was a nonsmoking room. Upon check out instead of our rate being reduced for all the trouble that they put us through - they actually had the nerve to charge my dad $40 more than the reserved price! I have lots of pictures of the unsightly appearance of this property. The front desk told my dad that they have been under remodel for a long time. I witnessed another guest, who had a husband in a wheelchair, ask the front desk for a band aide for him. She said they would have to go to Walgreens as they do not offer necessity items of any kind to guest. I have stayed at many of places that do offer items for purchase that the guest might need that they forgot to bring. That poor woman had to load up her husband and leave the hotel for a band aide. This location in Tyler Texas on Rieck Drive needs the attention from corporate office desperately. Someone needs to close it down. Some of the work rooms had doors that were left open and guest could see in. The laundry room was open and guest could see in. Overall unprofessional staff and worst hotel ever for Tyler, Texas,

The Rosevine exceeded our expectations! This charming B&B surprised us at every turn. The outdoor game set ups, pool table and bocci ball court kept our adult party of four entertained in between our scheduled activities. The grounds are meticulously cared for and a pleasure for walking around. The adult tree house was the perfect spot for a midday nap. And, our hosts were a true pleasure at breakfast. The rooms were neat as a pin, coffee was waiting at wake up and breakfast was delicious. We are looking for an excuse to return!

Courtyard by Marriott Tyler

To be fair, they asked for this

Reviewed By Jstodda

They asked for this. So there is a sign in the front of the lobby with a QR code linking to their Travelocity page. They should really take this sign down. First off let me preface this with the fact that I'm a Marriott Ambassador with over 1900 nights in a Marriott hotel. I know their standards and I know what to expect. At this point I could probably check myself into a hotel if I needed to. Let me cut to the chase, this is not it. Almost everything about this property is off. At welcome they didn't even recognize status or say thank you. Not that I have the Ego boost but it's nice to hear and it's definitely part of the process. They asked if I wanted a market item or points and I would definitely have loved a market item except for the market looks literally like there was a hurricane last week and it was totally picked over. Walking down the hallway almost every other room has breakage next to the door jamb. It literally looks like these rooms have been broken into at some point. Checking into my room and there is an immediate smell of mold. I checked their air conditioning unit that is absolutely filthy and looks like it hasn't been touched in months. Obviously not promising given the circumstances were in. When you see things like that you unfortunately start to see it everywhere. The bathroom shower amenities are all sitting on shelves instead of in the wall, there's fingerprints everywhere, the bed doesn't even have a bed skirt and it's literally a mattress sitting on box springs. Walking down the hall to speak to the front desk every single vent in the ceiling is absolutely filthy and again looks like it hasn't been touched. They are covered in mold, rust, and lint. I walked down because my key isn't working and asked the attendant for a new one, he asked what the room number is and I give him a last name. He immediately makes me a key and hands me the card and I asked him "remind what room number it is?" He immediately blurts out the room number and I say okay thank you and walk off. This man literally could have handed a complete stranger a key to my room as well as the room number without even checking id. Never ever again.
