Rixos Khadisha Shymkent is the first five star hotel in South Kazakhstan featuring 177 guest rooms and suites. Combining neo classic grandeur with modern freshness, the luxuriously designed hotel is ideally located in the heart of Shymkent city centre, a sort walk from many of the city's major attractions. The hotel is featuring the latest concepts and design in food and services.
Was very disappointed with the Rixos for the following reasons, pool water was not clean, walls in rooms are paper thin and you can hear everything from other rooms. The aircon was not working at all, the bins were not emptied daily and neither were the bath robes. The bathroom ventilation was not working and this cause a rusty smell in the room. Rooms not cleaned daily properly. Complained to reception about the noise and nothing was done about it. Male staff not very friendly and a bit rude. Female staff were friendly. No signs for the out of service front door.

A bit late doing this one. An interesting hotel indeed mainly because of the different room combinations. But first the reception / lobby area. The lobby /entrance area is nothing short of impressive and large. the reception counter is very long and many columns! The bar area is here as well. As we arrived early our rooms were not ready so time to kill. lunch was therefore taken in a restaurant next to the hotel. So to the rooms. I had room 406 or 4006. Anyway upon entry to the room I was greeted with an unusual layout. Not what I expected. 2 long thin rooms side by side each about 25 feet long and 12 feet wide!. You come into a small hallway which leads to the left for the bathroom, A very big bathroom comprising a shower which is the width of the room, toilet and washbasin. the shower was very good. The hallway has a smallish coat rack and cupboard. So to the bedroom. This felt funny being so long and narrow. At the far end was the bed which was quite firm and ok. I slept well despite the heat. There is a smallish table and chair on which was a kettle and stuff. There is a TV on the far end wall and not much else. Nowhere to put your luggage except on the floor. Also there is a balcony which for me was good as one is allowed to smoke here. I did and of course made sure that the door to the room was closed. i found myself using the windowsill to put my things on.The room was clean. But a shortage of power points did not help. I found just 2. So a funny experience. The breakfast room is on the 2nd floor. There was a good selection to suit most tastes. I heard from other members of our group who said they had small showers and some other different room layouts. The stay here was acceptable. The staff were good. There is free wi-fi which was quite fast.

I have stayed two nights at this hotel on a business trip to the region. The staff is super friendly and quite helpful. The rooms are quite comfortable with massive beds. Just be careful restaurant hours are limited on weekends but open late within the week, a different approach but I understand this to be the local tradition. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any.

A modern 4 star hotel of international standards where local Kazakhstan art and the feel of contemporary meet; where casual design combines with quality service. It is a place for business and leisure, with comfortable rooms, welcoming atmosphere and unforgettable dining experience. Located in the heart of a long-standing historical city of Shymkent with its museums, art galleries and rich night life.
Once again I was in Shymkent and I booked at the usual hotel. I tried several in this city but this is the one that makes me feel more comfortable. Hotel is nice, close to city center (walking distance) and at the same time aside enough to be silent during the night. Beds are quite comfortable: this time I found a spring matrass which seemed to be new, and it was nice to sleep there. Breakfast is various, not a huge choice, but everything is tasty (for Europeans, a little bit different from usual taste) and rather various from day to day. Big plus is the underground swimming pool and sauna, as well as the gym, and personally I love their bath tubs... Definitely, I will stop there again and again

Boutique hotel "Orbita" in Shymkent offers comfortable hotel rooms for quests of the city. Nice design, good price, friendly personnel. There are wide range of services at the hotel.
I spent 1 night here. My room was clean & quiet. My only complaint was that the AC did not work well, and my room remained quite warm the entire night. Wifi was good, bed was soft. Also their restaurant has cold draft beer.

Staff keen to support in anyway they could including calling a taxi for us to get us to the airport. Great location right next to the Yassawi mausoleum, archaeological sites and shopping centre. Park-hotel Promenade is conveniently located in the central part of the city, close to the shopping centers, numerous offices and places of public recreation. Rooms are decorated in the style of Provence.
Very few lights are turned on at the entrance of the hotel. The receptionist smiles (good sign). The corridors are dark, the lights are not on, and there are no windows. Think "The Shining". The room is clean, but the first sign that greets you is a list of "Fines" if you steal the inventory... Bathroom is clean and has a good size. Soap rasps your skin. Shampoo cannot wash anything. But the water is hot. Only three lamps in the whole room. No mood lighting, to say the least. Breakfast is greasy, but freshly made (you have to know what you want and when you want it the day before. I will call this place many things, but "fantastic" or "little gem" are not the words I would choose. It perhaps is better in Summer? "Dark and gloomy" unfortunately are the only words you can put on the place now.

Clean hotel with large rooms, friendly staff, and free breakfast. I had heard that "the only place to stay is the Rixos" but I was pleased to find this lower-cost option (especially after stopping for a drink at the other hotel and being charged $6 for a sparkling water). The location is great, within walking distance or a short taxi ride to most everything in the city.

The outside view of the hotel and the reception area definitely have a USSR look about them, however, the rooms and en-suite are modern and well maintained. I was intrigued by the cushions and pictures in reception. The cushions were made of the United Kingdom flag and the pictures were of British Grenadier Guards. Strange things to see in a Kazakhstan hotel. Breakfast was limited and coffee was of the “instant” variety.
