The location means that it is away from the town centre and is in a residential area of San Giusto. The breakfast of a selection of home made cakes and fresh fruit makes this something to look forward to. The large bathroom and very good size bedroom are also an added bonus. We only had a small evening snack due to late arroival, but it was very good.

Warm cookies during the check-in certainly added to the feeling that we were warmly welcomed.

Savoia Excelsior Palace is a hotel of timeless charm that immediately evokes all the Mitteleuropean's splendor. It is not a coincidence that, when it opened in 1911, it was acclaimed as “the most important and luxurious hotel in the Austro-Hungarian Empire”. The hotel remains an emblem of the majesty, sophistication and peerless style that distinguished the first grand hotels at the end of the 19th century. A towering presence on the historic seafront just off the city center, with an impressive white façade gazing over the endless view of the Gulf of Trieste, Savoia Excelsior Palace makes an unforgettable first impression. But inside is where the magic really begins. The 144 rooms and suites have been recently restyled with a blend of classic elegance and contemporary details. Many offer breathtaking views of the beautiful panorama of the Gulf of Trieste, extending almost as far as the historic Miramare Castle. The Savoy Restaurant by Eataly offers a gourmet experience with creative cuisine and traditional local delicacies, accompanied not only by the finest wine labels but also by superlative seafront views. Nine bright, elegant meeting rooms accommodating up to 320 guests are available to host both private gatherings and business events; our Event Manager is at your service. From the Concierge to the 24-hour room service, from the Wi-Fi to the tranquil library, all the hotel’s amenities are selected and personalized to offer you an exceptional stay in unparalleled comfort.
I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. I originally had a deluxe sea view booked but was upgraded to a junior suite on check in by Fabio (who was very welcoming and friendly). My room was very comfortable with a large balcony plus bath and rain shower. I had breakfast one day and there was a good selection of food. The only minus was the room service - I ordered a pizza which was pretty awful. The location of the hotel is great. Easily accessible by walking to everything Trieste has to offer plus multiple bus lines in walking distance: It also felt very covid safe with staff still wearing masks. There have been other comments on here about carpet issues but my room had a wooden floor. The sea view rooms at above a very busy street however my room has amazing sound insulation and this never bother me once. I’d definitely stay here again if I revisit Trieste. Thanks for a lovely stay!

This is a review based on an above average experience. Beautiful hotel. Quiet, small, very classy. Deep plush carpet and elegant lighting above each doorway. Front desk staff was very attentive and competent. They anticipated our needs for parking and arranged close by ahead of time. Room was on top floor in converted attic with a view of neighboring rooftops and sky from the dormers. It was not noisy even though on a Main Street. Air conditioning took the edge off of the afternoon sun. Bathroom was bright and elegant. Only negative issue was that half is the room was inaccessible because of the slope of ceiling. I am over 6 foot tall and I hit my head a few times and night. Trieste, however, is a cesspool. Filthy, garbage ridden, and disgusting making this hotel a real sanctuary.

Central location. Room 101 as very clean and comfortable. Breakfast had a good variety of breads, pastries, cold meat, cereals, juice, fruit and coffee. Reception was helpful. If traveling by car then suggest parking near the train station in public car park as on street parking is impossible. Lots of places to eat, drink and shop nearby. If you have time visit Grado for wonderful beach.

We did an overnight stay here due to its convenient location. Walkable to the bus and train stations as well as rental car companies. At the front desk staff was great, both before and during our stay. The availability of some supplies and package food was a bonus. A little noisy at night - but then it’s midtown.

Situated in a natural park, straight on the sea, Hotel Rivera & Maximilian's offers classic, superior and deluxe rooms, as well as suites, all with seaview. Most of the rooms have a private balcony. The breakfast room and the restaurant have big panorama windows on the sea and a large terrace overlooking the Gulf and Miramare Castle. The high level restaurant serves local dishes and from italian tradition, based on fresh fish. The restaurant is an ideal location for weddings, as well as banquets, also for dinner for two with candle light. From the end of May until September our guest can descend to our beach wit a 30 m high lift, where they find a snack bar. The large parking area is free of charge for hotel guests. The conference room, with sea view, is at disposal for meetings. City centre can be reached with city bus nr.6 And in summer with a ship. Free wifi all over the hotel.
I had a lovely stay at Riviera & Maximilian’s but it’s not quite a 4*. I had a single room and it was very cozy for a 1 night stay. The room, hotel and ground grounds were immaculate in terms of cleanliness par the tv remote. The single rooms have a small terrace leading out to a small garden what was full of flora and smelt amazing. The hotel smelt amazing too! The small decked area by the beach was also very clean and you could go for a swim in the beautiful sea. There’s also a bar that you can order drinks and food from. The views from the hotels and terraces were amazing. The breakfast was plentiful and had a couple of hot items - scrambled eggs and bacon. All the staff were very friendly too. The safe in my room was broken and the bell boy/maintenance guy tried to fix it to no avail - however he was super friendly and this wasn’t an issue for a nights stay. He managed to get my items that were locked in out for me. The downside to the hotel is the food. I ordered chicken kebabs at the beach bar and they were pretty bad. For eur 15 for skewers I expected freshly grilled chicken however the meal came out in a moment or seconds and tasted awful (frozen reheated food possibly) and the roasted vegetables were slushy and inedible. I also dined at the hotel restaurant that night. It has a beautiful view and lovely staff however the food was not good. My 64deg egg for starter wasn’t cooked properly (I can’t deal with raw egg white), my steak at dinner was overdone (albeit tasty still), and my chocolate mousse tasted like pre made frozen milk chocolate dessert that a hospital wouldn’t even serve. With wine my meal came to eur 96 which is more than I have paid for Michelin stared restaurants in London! Unfortunately there’s no where else you can go to eat that is close by. My aircon also stopped working and was never fixed. You can only use the beach on the day you check in which is pretty weird. I don’t mind the fee after you check out but you should be allowed to use facilities until check out. There was also no water provided and you had to pay eur 2 from the mini bar. All in all this is a beautiful hotel with magnificent views and lovely staff. It’s great for a night or 2 (especially if you have a car so you can drive for dinner, a cab will cost you c. 20 eur each way to the city). It’s also dog friendly :)

The New Hotel Centro is located in the heart of Trieste, a little downtown of north Italy. Just a few steps away from the railway station and the shuttle bus service of the airport. The rooms are well lit and comfortable. Each room is provided with satellite TV, a direct telephone-line and ventilator. It is a pleasant and inexpensive family run Hotel. Parking available on agreement. It is close to the bus stop.
It was my first time staying in a 2* hotel and it puts a lot of more expensive options to shame! Very pleasantly surprised and glad I trusted reviews. The room was clean and spacious, as was the bathroom. Nice window that opened to the street. The shower stall step up and soap stand heights were a bit awkward for my height so I did get injured twice while taking a shower, but got over it quickly. Due to covid, we have to order our food online, and they give you the link via whatsapp. I've stayed at so many hotels in Covid and everyone else needed me to fill out a paper form and submit to reception before a certain time... so this was super convenient! The location is close to many main attractions. Many say "great" but frankly it's just that Trieste isn't huge, so location really doesn't matter that much (unless you're staying outside of it). I would totally stay again.

In short: best place to stay in central Triëst. Atmospheric building, comfortable and well-equipped appartments (home cooking), professional staff. We checked in late in a weekend, so (due to covid-restrictions) no staff at reception - but information by sms and e-mail how to check in (and park our car) was easy and complete. Had a great stay, wishing we could have stayed for a week or so.

NH Trieste is an ideal base for discovering the rich history and distinct character of our coastal city, the Italian cradle of central European culture.
This was our hotel in Trieste for two nights. We had a room facing the harbor with a pretty good view of the cruise ships coming and going. The breakfast was good as is usual in NH hotels and it was a short walk to the center of town where everything is.
