This is paradise. We were here for 7 days, we enjoyed everything about our stay. The beach is amazing, we went for long walks on the beach, and visited small villages. Very authentic and friendly people. The bungalows are really nice and very clean. All the people working here are so helpful and nice. We did some of the activities and also here we had such good service. The transfer from the airport was indeed an attraction by it self. Driving through rivers and small villages. Excellent expert driver took us safe through the rough road. The waiters were very attentive, always with big smile. Good food which vary from day to day according to what the fishermen bring. Lovely atmosphere and perfect balance and respect for the nature and environment. Thank you so much, all of you in Ankasy Lodge for giving us the best vacation, which we will never forget.

This is a modern and great looking hotel, it was probably the best hotel in terms of western standards that we stayed in. However we felt there were a few items that let it down and with a little more attention to detail it could be truly fantastic. On arrival we were greeted with a welcome drinks, and you can take in the fantastic views. We walked up to the sunset viewing point which was beautiful. Dinner feels like quite a fancy affair compared to everywhere else in Madagascar but very enjoyable. Breakfasts allow you to take in the great sunrise, it consists of coffee, juice, toast, croissant, pain au chocolate, fruit and an egg dish. There is a small pool to enjoy if you have time. The rooms are very impressive, great views and spacious. I was very excited by the large stone bath with those same views - however was most dissapointed to find out there is no hot water - so its redundant, you cant use the bath. The other areas where i felt they could just slightly improve - they didnt refill the coffee after the first night, no creamer in the room, soft drinks at the hotel very expensive compared to everywhere else, room keeping came to do a turn down service at 8.15pm which we felt was far too late - after a long day driving or trekking we were getting showered and ready for bed at this time. No instructions or explanation in the room about anything, no information on how to get to the view point or natural pool, breakfast service was inconsistent, only the second morning we were offered eggs (not on the first breakfast) . Dont let these small things put you off, it is a great hotel but with a little more attention to detail could be even better.

Anakao Ocean Lodge & Spa is a magical place that by strange and fortunate circumstances has remained an uncontaminated corner away from the more chaotic mass tourism routes. It is a new and exclusive destination especially suitable for those who have a spirit for travelling.

HOTEL TRECICOGNE Completely renovated in 2017, now the hotel presents a modern architecture designed to be with Sakalava culture materials. An interior garden offers you freshness and shade during the hottest hours of the day and even a small look at the flora of the region : bougainvilliers, Periwinkle, hibiscus, laurier, flamboyant, coconut, papaya and baobab trees…The hotel is situated at 100 m from the beach and its structure opens onto Heliott channel between the port and the sea ; a spectacular view allows you to discover the intense bond that unites the Vezo people at sea ; sailing canoes returning fisheries, botry laden with goods (dhow) responsible for goods returning to port or leaving supply the small villages on the coast.Front of the hotel, during low tide, men and woman daily fishing small fish and crustaceans for the local market.Cleanliness and environmental friendly waste disposal is one of TRECICOGNE’s priority for the environment and their guest’safety.
I recently stayed here for a couple of nights whilst visiting Kirindy Park to see the "Dancing Lemurs".......well worth the travel.....though the journey from Antisarabe is more like 10 hours than 8 hours which it says in most tour guides. The hotel and rooms are super clean and tidy. Bright rooms with mosquito nets and ceiling fans. Staff very friendly. Beautiful spot to see the sunrise over the river.

If you don't mind a very basic accommodation and just look for a 100% dip into a marine experience, that's your spot. Very friendly owners, living and well integrated there since decades, you will find a very easygoing and relaxed ambiance. Nobody will push you to buy activcities, but if you just ask Eric to take you diving with him, snorkelling or whale watching (and even swimming with these wonderful giants!) you will discover his love to this place. Very good restaurant, plenty of dish choices every day. Wifi available 3h per day, the essential not to cut off completely from your "real life". Only reason for not giving 5 stars, toilets are maybe too basic. As Anakao doesn't have clean running water - it's taken by pirogues every day from a near village - they provide you plenty of water in buckets . In short, you don't have sinks or taps, so you will take your shower and wash your hands by using buckets. I think they could find a bit more comfortable way to let their guests wash themselves, but, nonetheless, I would definitely come back. Thank you Carole and Eric!

The West Coast Palissandre in Madagascar Nosy Kelly is located on the beach of Morondava, 30 minutes from the legendary Walk of Baobab trees. An ideal place to relax or to storm Tsingy Bemaraha! The Palissandre Hotel West Coast offers thirty bungalows built in materials from Madagascar: granite stone, rosewood and roof mokotry. They are spacious (30m2) and all have a private terrace with sea view In each room you will find a great comfort in a popular area of Madagascar also declined. Air conditioning, mosquito net, mini bar, bathroom with shower, hairdryer, satellite TV and even wifi. The Rosewood West Coast also offers a nice pool next to the bar and restaurant (whose leader has had several great restaurants in Antananarivo). Enjoy the spa massages, this particular on your return from the long road of Tsingy ... sweet!
Two pristine and large pool, by the sea. Beautiful well decorated bungalow. Good homemade food, sea food, fish, meat, zebu, poultry, the Chef is creative. Last but not least, the place is quiet, a paradise to have a rest. Don’t be afraid to be barefooted, the white sand is so soft.

Arrived here after a long drive and some bad hotel experiences and the approach to the hotel made me a little anxious but a soon as i got to reception I relaxed , for although it's not a 5 star place it looked clean, well laid out and reasonably stylish in the public areas. In fact it turned out to be lovely. The rooms are basic but adequate , all have sea views and are quite at night. Lots of greenery including 6 Baobab trees. Good wifi. no A/C. right on beach. Very reasonably priced and better than basic cooking in the restaurant. Maybe the descriptions run away from reality a bit but full marks for trying. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The BungalowsThe sixteen rocky bungalows of the Resort offer privacy and tranquillity to our guests. Bungalows are furnished with a double and a single bed, covered by an elegant canopy to protect our guests from the rare mosquitos present in the area. the sliding glass door gives a unique view over the Indian Ocean, allowing you to admire the wonderful sunsets of Madagascar. Each bungalow is equipped with 220v electrical outlets, with European standards. The bathroom reflects the Western standards, although is perfectly harmonized in its surroundings. The shower, Maldivian style, is open sky and allows our guest to have a nice refreshing shower under the brightness of the Milky Way, perfectly visible in Andavadoaka. The RestaurantThe kitchen of Laguna Blu has always been the flagship of the entire Resort. Skilled cooks are available for our guests to cook fresh fish, accompained by the taste of the inevitable Italian pasta, all surrounded by the flavour and the freshness of salads and local fruits. Lobsters, shrimps, grouper and giant squids are just some examples of fish that you can enjoy in the restaurant without extra fees.In addition to our standard breakfast, always included in the price, the Resort offers a rich Tropical breakfast, made with fresh fruit, juices, cakes and eggs, cooked in various ways.Throughout the day, the bar is available for our guests with refreshing drinks and cocktails, served in the Club House or directly in the beach!Baobab ForestJust five minutes far from Laguna Blu – Resort Madagascar rises an enchanting forest corroborated by numerous Adansonia Madagascariensis, ie the famous Baobabs of Madagascar. An adventurous journey through cactus, shrubs and tamarind will lead to the discovery of these gigantic trees. Our guests will be accompanied and guided to discover the qualities of medicinal plants and the rituals of Malagasy people. At the border of the forest, our guest will find a holy lake, a place of worship and meditation. The true nature lovers have the opportunity to visit the forest at dawn, to see the sun rise through these giants of the Earth. Our White BeachLaguna Blu – Resort Madagascar offers to its guests almost one kilometer of white sand beach. Just in front of the Club House three rocky formationsgive the opportunity to snorkel safely, admiring tropical fish, mooray eels and sea stars. The reef is one of the most impressive of the entire Globe and offers breathtaking views for divers, more or less experienced. Beach lovers can relax and lie in the various beaches and lagoons existing in the area, totally free and easy to reach from everyone!
That this beautiful, serene resort even exists where it does requires the weary traveler to suspend disbelief, because it doesn’t quite seem possible. Here, at the end of an all day drive on some of Madagascar’s most brutal (but fascinating) tracks, is Laguna Blu, perched on a bluff overlooking the sea. And you’ll probably arrive late in the day, maybe even at sunset as I did, which makes the arrival even more magical. A scattering of bungalows looking out to the sea, a lonesome beach that will pretty much be yours alone, nights lit with an impossible amount of stars... Laguna Blu will leave a lasting impression on you. The beach, at low tide, is so interesting. Plenty of white sand, but also a reef that extends far, far out into the Mozambique Channel. It’s fun to explore, but step lightly, and be aware that everything around you is very much alive. Allow some time to visit the nearby Vezo village of Andavadoaka. The people will be just as curious about you as you are about them. And last but not least, make sure you pay a visit to the local grove of Baobabs, some 20 minutes away. In my opinion, the most spectacular group of Baobabs in Madagascar, even more astonishing than those at the Avenue of the Baobabs outside of Morondava. They are totally surreal! Laguna Blu was by far my favorite lodging in Madagascar, and one of the most beautiful places I have stayed, period. I think you just have to go and see for yourself.

Me and my friends stayed here for three nights. The bungalow was very clean and comfortable. During these time we had a great experience hiking and visiting the palmarium. Besides if you are interested in finding a peaceful place for your trip this is your place!
