Synagogues, mosques and churches stand together in Toledo's historic quarter, a testament to the medieval Spanish city's diverse history. The four towers of The Alcazar, a fortress built in 1085, dominate the skyline. Toledo and its surrounding countryside inspired El Greco, and his paintings are on display in many places around the city, including the museum that bears his name.

Parador hotels are a real hit and miss affair. The one at Toledo, where we stayed for one night, was on the whole good, although it is a shame that when we went to the bar for a drink, we could not sit and admire the view from the terrace because it was absolutely packed with day-trippers not staying at the hotel. However, the room was quite good, with great views from the balcony over the city. The downside was the usual concrete-hard beds that the management of the Paradores like to use, and air conditioning that was inefficient. Dinner was very good with excellent service. Breakfast was also reasonably good.

Perfect location in the heart of the city. The quality of the hotel for the price we paid, beat out expectations. The hotel feels like you are part of the city, inside is spotless and our rooms had modern touches whilst still keeping the authentic charm of the building. The breakfast was great value for money and set us up for the day. With only a couple of minutes away from the Cathedral, we were in the perfect location to explore the city. We did take a car, there was plenty of parking as not many hotel guests needed space. I would advise if you are going to drive, have a small car due to the very narrow streets. Remember to check out the roof top terrace, lovely view where you can either sit in the sun or under shade.

If you're driving you may want to stay outside the walls of Toledo. But this may mean a corporate feel (and indeed conferences in progress). On the other hand the good thing is efficient service, oversized rooms and everything is - well - easy. No complaints. Big beds, everything worked as it should

This building of the hotel dates from 1889. At first, it was used as a cold steel Factory. "The San Jose Flour Factory" was created in 1918 and continued its production until July 1996. The Factory was used for the production of flour, marzipan, chocolates and sweets. Its products were among the most valued and known, not only for the use of raw material with an unbeatable quality, but also for the technical methods that guaranteed the supply and production of the different products. This building, considered a point of cultural interest, preserves its Neomudejar facade and is a magnificent representation of the 19th Century industrial architecture. Opened in May 2003, The San Juan de los Reyes Hotel is located in the emblematic Jewish quarter of Toledo, in the historic city centre next to the main monuments: San Juan de los Reyes Monastery, Santa Maria la Blanca Synagogue, Vitorio Macho Museum, El Greco Museum, Santo Tome Church, El Transito Synagogue.
Excellent hotel in the old Jewish quarter of Toledo. The rooms were very comfortable and the restaurant was exceptional. I would certainly recommend it as a place to stay. Also close to the El Greco museums and the old synagogues. Toledo should not be missed!

Excellent location, very friendly staff. Very good breakfast. Wonderful window view of the old town. But: There is no sound isolation between rooms, every time the neighbor takes a shower, it sounds like he does it in your room.

In the midst of the walled city of Toledo sits this unique hotel, whose principal structure is a rustic home and an antique blacksmith shop dating back to 1815. The enclave's easy access to all points of Toledo is privileged. Near Zocodover, the city's principal plaza, the Hotel Abad Toledo is surrounded by some of Toledo's most emblematic monuments: the Puerta del Sol, the Mosque of Cristo de la Luz (999 B.C.), the Puerta de Bisagra in addition to amazing views of the lower section of the Tagus River. This charming three-star hotel houses 22 rooms, each one unique. During the restoration of the building, efforts were made to maintain all of its original element, such as hand-hewn wooden ceiling and wall beams and exposed brickwork, while adding a modern concept of design and decoration. The results are both functional and innovative, but always very cozy and inviting. Paying special attention to the guest, this family endeavour has thought of every detail to ensure a comfortable stay: air conditioning, heat, Radio, satellite dish, personal safes and hair dryers. Also a buffet-style breakfast composed of traditional Spanish and more continental fare is offered every morning.
The hotel was straightforward to find using a satnav. There are 3 spaces at the end of the hotel to park a car to unload the luggage and check-in. The friendly lady at reception gave us clear and simple instructions to park our car in the hotel's designated parking spaces in a multistorey carpark minutes away. (Calle Gerado Lobo). You're given a key and fob to get in and out of the car park when you need to. Our room (36) was on the third floor accessed using lift or stairs and was lovely, had aircon, a double bed and another bed on a mezzanine floor. The room had a safe, kettle, no fridge but cold milk was available on request at reception (for a cup of tea ). There is a coffee machine available 24 hours a day. Breakfast was continental, lovely fresh fruit, breads and meats though the croissants were packaged and dry. Location is ideal for exploring the old town with Plaza de Zocodover an uphill 5 minute walk and the 1000 year old former mosque then Christian Church up the steps where the drop off parking spaces are. I recommend staying here if you like small, relaxed hotels - if you want corporate or grand, this isn't for you.

Very easy to find. Parking opposite, paying at some times. Paid hotel parking. Very clean during a pandemic but all 4 pillows smelled of greasy heads. Covers were clean but pillows had not been washed or replaced. The room could not have been smaller! 526. The shower was in the bath which for older guests is difficult to get into and slippery. Should be given a choice of walk in shower. Lighting was very poor, difficult to read in bed. We have good eyesight! Staff friendly. Excellent choices at breakfast.

The 2-star Hotel Domus Plaza Zocodover is a base to discover the essence of Toledo and enjoy its history, cultural diversity and fashion. The hotel is located in Plaza de Zocodover, an excellent starting point to explore the sinuous streets of the old quarter of this Spanish city. The hotel has a 18 bedrooms, equipped for relaxation from the daily hustle and bustle. Some of the rooms have views of the Moorish Castle, the Cathedral and Toledo Town Hall, monuments of great historic value, all of which are a short walk from the hotel.
Only a few paces from the main square in Toledo No provision of food, save for a machine selling drinks. There is a good snack bar across the road though. Little natural light in the bedroom - one window opening onto an area from which others cn easily see in, so the curtain had to be closed. Toilet paper ran out and we had to apply to reeption. The TV remote had leaking batteries.
