Boutique Hotel in Tlacotalpan, Veracruz, Mexico, UNESCO's World Heritage Site. The best hotel in town, built in a 19th century house and historical monument, the only one on the riverside. It has 7 rooms, one junior suite and one master suite with view to the river, all with Egyptian cotton sheets. It has a restaurant-bar with typical local cuisine. Several activities can be arranged for our guests, including a guided tour, bike rentals, boat ride, horseback riding, bird watching and one-day tours to Zempoala and other archaeological sites nearby.
Actually the property is really nice but somehow it appears a bit neglected. Furniture in the rooms is really a bit simple, however the beds are comfortable. Bathroom was really nice and clean enough but installations need some maintenance. The biggest problem was the air con, it’s incredibly noisy.

The Dona Juana (not to be confused with the Don Diego or Dona Lala) is an excellent choice in Tlacotalpan (or Tlackers to its friends). The staff and management are friendly and efficient and the room was spotless. Morning coffee but no breakfast; this requires a short walk into town. It lies in a swampy area so there are some mosquitoes, but the problem is relieved by a council worker spraying the town centre in the evenings. Tlacotalpan is a sleepy, lazy former port that time forgot until it became a UNESCO World Heritage Site and there are still very few tourists on weekdays. There are fairly frequent buses from Veracruz and it's also possible to go in the other direction to San Andres Tuxtla.

My friend reserved this room and he tends to go cheap so I was a little worried. The rooms were spotless. The double room was tiny. I looked at the other three rooms and they were aimed at families. One had two double beds and a single and one had a king bed and a single. Both were large rooms. No refrigerators or amenities but the price was low and everything worked and was clean. Our bed was comfortable. There are only two downsides: if you are upstairs the stairs are steep and pretty narrow and the place echos a bit. If it was crowded you would hear everyone coming up the stairs to their rooms. It was not crowded when we stayed so it was just fine.

Nice old style hotel. The biggest hotel in this beautiful Tlacotalpan. Interior rooms are a bit dark. Needs an urgent remodeling. Air conditioning leaks in most rooms, the rooms facing the street are spacious but noisy. The restaurant has the best food all over town. Great service in both. The owners are always there and are accommodating with ones needs. Visit the gift shop. Will find lots of nice handmade things to buy.

Located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Tlacotalpan, Veracruz. We offer a suite with 2 double beds, full kitchen, and tiled bath. We also offer 2 rooms with baths, both with double beds. All rooms have satellite TV, air conditioning, and screened patios overlooking the tropical garden.
My husband and I recently returned from Tlacotalpan. We really enjoyed staying at the Casa de la Luz which is just slightly outside of the center of town. It was very quiet at night and at the same time it was so close to the center of town that going back and forth was easy and, at night, the walk was very well-lit. Rafael was a wonderful host and so helpful if there was anything we needed. Tlacotalpan is definitely off the usual tourist path but that is part of what makes it special.

A évité absolument !.
