Reviewed By ladywolf60The AGM at this hotel (Fiona Duncan ) made what could have been a disaster for me, into a truly wonderful trip. I booked this using a 1-800 number, which apparently was some sort of call center. They assured me that this hotel was close walking distance toast Joseph hospital. Anyway, long story short….when I arrived at the hotel after arriving by plane to Thunder Bay, they had no reservation for me! That call centre even charged my visa for 600 plus dollars! Hotels not easy to come by because of flooding there are mostly filled up. Fiona got me in….even upgraded me to a queen size suite! I was extremely relieved! All the staff, from front desk to breakfast room were absolutely wonderful! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone! Kudos to you all at the hotel for outstanding service and friendliness. I am one very happy customer. Now to deal with visa and that bogus hotel charge. I learned a valuable lesson. I will only book hotels direct from now on. Thanks guys ?

Reviewed By barbararZ3042DOI have found the staff to be extremely helpful and accommodating. You can tell they feel this is a great place to work. Everyone greets you with a smile and goes out of their way to assist you - right from the registration desk, to the housekeeping staff, maintenance staff, restaurant and catering staff. Booking this venue for our event was very easy as we worked together to determine how our needs could best be met. The rooms are extremely clean and the beds are very comfortable. Lots of tv channels to choose from if you just want to relax in your room. You cannot hear anyone in the room beside you - rooms are quiet and offer privacy. The pool area is nice to visit and very clean. Location is beautiful - outside of the city noise and bustle, a very relaxing view with a nice area to stroll.

Reviewed By Christina DThe room was spacious and clean. The restaurant was fine but they are still a bit understaffed (post covid situation many places). Didn't use spa or pool so don't know the renovation status. Front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. Good value. I'd come back.

Reviewed By grego550I absolutely enjoyed this hotel. I have stayed at others in the past but I’ve found this a very clean and well run hotel. The room was large and very clean, comfortable bed and perfect for my stay.The breakfast was good and nourishing. I will definitely stay here again!

Historic feel
Reviewed By TunaPokeGreat historic building that was well renovated. Beds were very comfy. You can hear quite a bit through your hotel room door though. We had a staff member knock at our door at 8 am asking if we were checking out while we were still sleeping..even though check out time is at 11. Then she proceeded to start vacuuming the hall and rooms around us. This wouldn't have been so bad if we couldn't hear everything clear as day. If you're passing by the area I would still recommend it just cause its a different experience than your average chain hotel.

Reviewed By C2194PGreat fellow at check in who was informative, pleasant and very knowledgable. As a bonus, he was also quite funny. You typically pay more for the ground floor, but I was too cheap for that so I had a second floor room and had to go inside and up stairs to get to the room. I might spring for a parking lot accessible room if COVID comes back. The room was clean and the complimentary breakfast was quite likely the best "included" breakfast I've ever had ... and I've had many, many, many. I booked based on price as it was a bit cheaper than the many similar ones in TB.
