Set just 4km from Thabazimbi on the mountainside overlooking Marakele National Park. Stunning views of the Marakele and Kransberg Mountains from your own deck, come and enjoy the peace and quiet of the African bush. With only 3 rooms, we dedicate ourselves to personal attention.
This is a hidden gem in the hilly bush terrain on the way to the National Park. Very quiet and secure. When I come back I would choose a room downstairs. The loft was huge and open. I like sleeping in a smaller room. That's just a me thing. The meals were top notch and a great price. The meals were full of fun conversation with the owners and other guests. If you want to meet fellow travelers and learn about SA this is the place for you.

Game lodge Rooiberg Thabazimbi, Soul of Africa is a luxurious privately owned game lodge nestled in the idyllic Bushveld surrounds of the Waterberg mountains, just outside the town of Thabazimbi, in the Limpopo Province. The lodge is easily accessible and guests can expect to be pampered in a tranquil environment, within an affordable budget. The lodge if fully Self Catering so its the perfect place to spend some quality time with friends and family with a shared kitchen and braai area.
On our 2 weeks’ trip through Mpumalanga and Limpopo this was by far the most beautiful place we stayed. The road might sometimes be hell but once you are there it feels like you are in a little paradise. The lodge is built on a hill and offers a 360º view over the property. From the huge swimming pool you can observe a lot of game: giraffes, zebra, buffalos, kudu’s, nyalas and much more. We booked a self catering unit and had in the communal kitchen all we needed for a relaxed stay. You can walk on the property or go for a guided game drive. Perfect place to stay to visit Marakele National Park.

Nestled in a mountainous amphitheatre at the highest point in the Waterberg lies Griffons Bush Camp. Griffons Bush Camp consist of 4 stone and thatch chalets with en-suite bathrooms, communal kitchen that is fully equipped. Self catering, but catering can be arranged in advance. Griffons Bush Camp is a eco-friendly i.e. electricity supplied by solar panels.
Perfect remote escape surrounded by the bush. Great host in Alois and all that you need for a time to switch off. The rooms are basic but ticks all the boxes. Communal kitchen and boma provides areas to sit around and admire the 360degree views. Benefit is the fact that it is in Marakele, so big five area.

All good. No problem’s experienced. Very comfortable and more than adequate for what I needed. Will definitely stay there again. The only think I don’t like is that this review is now forcing me to use two hundred characters

A unique family owned guesthouse in the warm hearted bushveld of South Africa. Our guesthouse is situated in the middle of an eco park bordering Marakele National Park. We cater for individuals as well as companies with our farm based atmosphere.
Loved the location, far way from it all! Really good service all round and the food was really good. Even though seemingly remote, the free WiFi performance is good. Will definitely stay there again when next I need to stay over in the Thabazimbi area. Highly recommended. Thank you Bernadine and your Team!

We went there for a weekend. We stayed at Meerkat Manor. It is really unique especially the setup of the tree house. Very clean and modern inside! The braai place was awesome, the caretaker is very helpful in assisting with starting a fire and making us feel at home. Th splash pool was great, would be even better if it had an option of being heated :) I would come back here to escape the city and it’s not too far off from JHB.

Louis and Charmain are wonderful hosts and have two amazing cottages 2kms up the mountain from their homestead. We loved the view and amenities. The privacy and peace and quiet are out of this world. We really enjoyed walking around the farm and seeing birds, ostrich, Blesbok, impala and warthog. The stars and milky way at night were stunning. Everything is perfect for a self catering holiday.

What is better than enjoying breakfast while overlooking the Thabazimbi bushveld and Waterberg mountains? Come and enjoy the peacefulness of the Bushveld and see the sun go down over Thabazimbi from your room or the wood deck.
Very quiet and relaxing. Rooms are very well furnished with a desk and proper Wi-Fi. There is a fully licensed bar and restaurant which means that I did not have to go anywhere after a long day at work.

Arrived after a long road trip looking forward to a relaxing bit of luxury. We paid R2109 for a 2 “bedroom” chalet self catering..... bed only, no breakfast. Aside the Iovely staff and charismatic bar area the experience was disappointing. The property felt like a contractors accommodation. Instant coffee sachets handed to us with exactly 2 biscuits in a plastic bag. The kitchen facilities were below par. R500 is required for “breakages deposit”, the TV doesn’t work and braai grid was filthy. There was no “2 rooms”.... the kitchen has a grid blocking the bunk beds from the kitchen. Another lesson not to book last minute even when you desperate to escape the confines of Covid.
