Reviewed By Dancing_BoyWas here shooting a film so they gave me the smallest room possible overlooking the pool (which was undergoing maintenance) - It's a nice room - the AC worked well - nice hot water in the shower - no fridge - close to everything within walking distance - Here's the problem... there's nothing necessarily WRONG with the place, but its just NOT a 5 star hotel. Others on the film were staying at the nearby Matian (3.5 stars) which IMO blew this hotel away. Amazing service, great food, a fantastic wince cellar and better rooms. I will say, the second I left the room, it was cleaned. The bed was comfy and the linens 1st class. One thing to be aware of... the church bells go off at 6am and they tend to ring 60+ times! I'm not joking. The food around town is fantastic but try and avoid food around the square as its a bit "touristy" (and by touristy, it's local tourists). As a "gringo" I was treated fairly well by everyone but know that it's not a destination for most Americans so there's not a lot of English spoken.

Reviewed By ApontonlWe never felt so ripped off as with this hotel, they charged us as if it were a five star hotel and it doesn't even reach one star. The photos are unreal, they are falsified or made up surely. The hotel is an inn, it is badly located, in a place far from the town, dirty and full of dust, there is nothing nearby. The hotel is very small and the photos are probably from stock because they do not look anything like reality. Don't go there unless you are willing to a bad place.

Reviewed By Estela VA pretend to be hotel of 4 stars while deserves no more than 2. The room was dirty, stains all over the carpet, floor,wc, tables, the shower was in such state that we decided to shower with slipers on. The walls are so thin that you could hear everything, we were not able to sleep for the 2 nights we have stayed due to the noise next door (tv, speaking,other activities of the couple,), the holiday loud music of the hotel in the swimming pool starting early in the morning, people passing by in high heels, and the noise of the parking next no our room. Also, It has a parking garage but it is a whole issue to park it. Some of the staff was friendly but some other just tried to sell us tours, spa treatments while we were trying to make a request, lacks training in hospitality, while we were requesting certain things at the desk the lady would just answer staring at her screen, and answer without even looking at us. The hotel was not worth the price per night it charges, at the utmost this is an hotel of 2 stars and should charge no more than 40-50euros per nigh. The appearance of the ourside is OK but when you enter to the room is something else. We will definately go often to Queretaro and Tequisquiapan but will avoid staying here again.

Reviewed By N4563KAbradhI think the best part of the Hotel La Plaza is the location. It is literally right in the main square in town. So for location this place cannot be beat. As far as the rooms, they were okay. They were clean and certainly among the best rooms in this small town (but the expectations cannot be too high). And Tequisquiapan is a cute town but I would not stay there for the night again. Mainly because the church (which is right next to the hotel) begins sounding the church bells beginning at 5am! And they continue tolling the bells every half hour! I don't know how anybody sleeps in this town. (The hotel does provide ear plugs on the desk - but I didn't realize what it was for). I believe at 7am the church bells clanged 65 times!

Posada del Virrey is perfectly located in the Tequisquiapan's historic center, a fact made especially impressive given that they have free secure parking as well as a beautiful outdoor pool. Staff is gracious and accommodating, and the facilities are safe and secure. Highly recommended, we will definitely stay here on any return trips.

Reviewed By Patricia HThe hotel is walking distance to the Zocalo where there is a good number of restaurants, nice shops.....Sunday morning nice ambiance to enjoy a cup of coffee and appreciate the sights and sounds of the town. Staff at hotel were excellent...thanks to Angeles and Jonathan. They arranged for a wonderful half day tour with Jorge Olmedo. Restaurant at hotel was good. My only issue was our room did not have window for natural light. On the plus side, a/c good & room quiet.

Very nice hotel
Reviewed By Laura MExcellent location. Hotel is very clean, staff is great, rooms are so cute, colonial and big with verandas to the street. The pool is heated but small, can handle no more than 5 persons at a time to be comfortable but it's very private, you need to let the staff know to heat up since it takes up to 2 hrs. We were in the pool for 3 hrs way past 10:30pm and they never asked us to leave, we brought down a bottle of wine and the only request from the staff was to not being glass cups they even came to ask if how many dry towels we would need, that was the only interruption we had. My only complaint is not at all the hotels fault, the hotel.is centrally located, excellent location but occasionally the locals like to drive by with loud music on their cars, it happened about 4 times but not after 11pm or before 7am, we were there during the week. No complains or bad reviews about the hotel or staff. Other than the locals with the music everything was nearly perfect

Reviewed By Smartsmart123I stayed in this hotel because of an wedding celebrated there and the experience was very poor The hotel is located 10 km from Tequistiapan, a nice colonial mexican small city. The hotel does not have any shuttle, so if you want to leave the complex and you do not have your own car, you need to ask for a taxi I can say that the management is very bad The building is new, this is not one of those famous wonderfulls mexican “haciendas”. The architecture simply tries, without much success, to recreate this kind of places Our room was at the third floor in a distant wing, and we had to walk through a labyrinth of corridors, lifts and stairs to get there, and we needed around 5 minutes to reach the reception from the our room for whatever was needed because the telephone did not work (and was not fixed) The room was ample and with good furniture, a good bathroom with good towells, a good safety box, a large flat tv with a short channels selection, however: -There were no hangers in the closets -There was no paper bin in the room. Despite of our requests, we never got any -There was no sanitary bin at the toilet. After our request we got a poor plastic bin -There was no glass at the bathroom. Despite our request, an addequate glass for toothbrass, we never got any -The minibar was empty. Most of the rooms had a well supplied minibar. Despite of our request, the minibar was never supplied -The beds were goods, but there were no blankets or quilts, only the sheets. Despite of our request, we never got any blanket -The air conditioned worked well Cleaning was average The free wifi was poor, with continuous interruptions The wedding dinner was of average quality, with very unpolite service (all the staff, waiters and maitre were unpolite and unproffessional). There were not enough knifes, and they left the used forks and knives aside instead of bringing clean ones The breakfast buffet was very good There were many works in the hotel. The last stairs to ge tour room (without elevator in that area) were like an abandoned work, and there was no railing but bricks. Same, the small balcony was like not finished, with rusty nails and forgotten Woods at the bottom The hotel has a large green area, which is mnore a field than a garden. I can imagine they use this green areas for weddings and congress, so they are not more flowers tan those in pots The swimming pool was nice. Unfortunately, there were some adjacent abandoned works for another bigger swimming pool which made the place not so pleasant at the end Check-in took about 50 minutes and check out was slow as well, as they use a manual system for the extra expenses Absolute lack of evacuation signs. Furthermore, i doubt that the hotel meet any safety standards as there is only one stair for the whole complex. The local authorities should check the safety procedures of this hotel Considering the price of the room (2,700 pesos) i certainly do not recommend this hotel. They claim to be a 5 stars one, but i do not think the deserve to be more tan a 2 stars hotel
